16.9.2014

Just for it to be clear for everyone: currently, the test server is running the 3rd test round. The previous list of changes I marked as 3rd round was an update to the second round. Yea, it gets confusing.

Also, please note that the “Crab Village” map leaked earlier is apparently an internal WG map, used for testing the vehicles.

- Q: “Will the Chaffee case be the only case of compensation?” A: “We will see every time individually, if there are any such cases in the future.”
- the Chaffee compensation (43340 XP) will be added to the current XP you have on the Chaffee. This is the final decision, it won’t be changed.
- the Chaffee solution was accepted because “it’s a fast and simple solution”
- Storm confirms: FV215b (120) will be changed to Chieftain Mk.3 and FV4202 to Centurion Action X
- FV215b (120) will not stay in the game
- Storm states that the Chieftain will be better than FV215b
- Storm states that he can’t say whether Action X turret will be durable (good for “tanking”), models have to be made first and it has to be tested, but the turret will be tough overall
- patch 9.3 will come soon
- no plans to allow player to buy “event tanks” for money
- according to Storm, the real fate of the FV4202 premium (for free or not) will be announced “closer to winter” – for now the current info (SS: by Evilly about the mission apparently) should be better disregarded

- apparently, if I understand it correctly, it’s possible that if the queue waiting time for a tank is above certain limit, it’s possible for the matchmaker to override the “similiar time spent on each battletier” and, for example, if it was your turn to end up as a top tank but there are few tanks below your tier for the team to be built that way, it will put you on the bottom of the team instead to avoid waiting
- there are some performance fixes in 9.3, addressing the “freezes” (that happen when an enemy tank is lit up for the first time) and the developers are still working on performance increase as well
- no plans to allow the change of crew nationality
- Russian players are complaining that the IS-7 barrel is low res (it basically is not a circle, it has 12 sides or so, very rectangular and visible). This however will be the version that will appear on the live server.
- XP for “tanking” will return, but later
- the characteristics of new LT’s are final
- the bug when the tank “twists” after being spotted was fixed in 9.3
- there is a small bug in the stock ISU-152 gun barrel (there is a hole). Storm: “Small thing.”
- it’s not known for now, what will happen to T-62A turret, when the tank is reworked to HD
- KV-85 turrets’ appearance (SS: they both look the same apparently) is correct
- apparently, some model bugs that are known will not be fixed in 9.3, developers didn’t manage to make it on time
- the “weld” on the Maus turret that some players reported as a bug is actually correct, on real tank it’s not visible because it was carefully painted over by several coats of paint
- IS-7 armor is “historical, where it’s possible and we have enough data”. The turret slope is generally correct (there might be differences in sloping in range of single degrees), the only exact answer could be provided by 3D laser scanning the tank. Developers didn’t do that yet but they have the option to and it’s completely possible they will in the future.
- Maus will not be buffed. Of all tier 10′s, it’s first in damage blocked by armor and second in winrate and average XP per battle.
- IS-7 pintle machinegun will not return, the feedback is that it’s okay the way it is in HD

    • :-) i also thought, that we could end up with the Mk5 if this goes on.
But hey, wiki has no real info on the difference between mk2, 3 and 5 exept better engine, NBC protection (which is not important for WoT) and the ominous extra equipment, whatever that means. Hell, with this we could go up to mk.9. :-)

      • There was also a new cupola on the Mk 3. Don’t have exact pictures so I can’t say whether it’s better (lower profile) or not but it was different than the previous versions of the tank.

  1. ”- the characteristics of new LT’s are final”

So many retarded T49′s i get to slaughter…i get giddy with anticipation.

    • T49 is like a 1390, next to useless in the first 5 mins of the game but exceptionally deadly in the last 5 mins when most tanks are under 300HP’s and can be one shot EVEN FROM THE FRONT or if you can shoot through the rear for full 900. Also, this tank can take 1/3rd the health off a batchat with one shot which could decide the game.

I have a top gun on TS killing 3 scouts but at the end of the game killing 2 tier 10 tanks and a tier 10 arty and carrying a tier 10 game and then the next game I killed 3 tier 10′s. This tank feasts on weakly armored TD’s and mediums, but mostly at close range only so u sit back behind your teammates and derp in or race in derp and race out.

It’s a VERY fun and rewarding tank to play.

      • you overrate it a lot. By the time it aims, 13 90 would have dumped half its clip already. Yes, it’s that bad in aiming time. in addition it has sluggish traverse, and if you shoot HTs frontally (which is your main point I guess) you often end up with 150-200 damage with horrible aimitime+20ish reload which is absolutely pathetic.

I never understood the obsession with derp guns, they are mostly a joke. What you want is reliability, not the once-per-10-tries 900 damage.

    • T-49 is kind of like an arty that can only go into TD Mode. Except it’s fast, has gun depression, and has more hit points. should be quiet capable if you pre aim a corner, blast the enemy when they come around it and then run for your life. Think it will be quite good if you hit and run in it.

  2. >- Maus will not be buffed. Of all tier 10′s, it’s first in damage blocked by armor and second in winrate and average XP per battle.

Really ? I was assuming it’s quite the opposite.

    • The figures are probably skewed with how tiny the sample size is … at least on the NA server you don’t see many used nowadays.

      • If that was the case the WZ-113 would be doing a lot better that it is.

The Maus has never been popular. It’s got nothing to do with it being good or bad. The E-100 isn’t as good, yet it’s much, much more popular. Why? Because the Tiger and Tiger II are in the same line. Where as there is nothing in the Maus line that’s anywhere nearly as popular.

    • Maus is really unpopular so there are mostly good players playing it, that’s why it has a better WR. For example, IS-7 is mostly played by tomatoes and that’s why it has a lower WR.

      • Exactly, but since the B was buffed the line is more attractive as the A is decent and the Tiger P is very good.

    • Too bad that there’s still the T28, T28 Prototype, T25/2, T110E4, T71, E50M, VK72 with 120 tons and a shitload of German tanks with guns they were never able to fit and complete ridiculous fantasy armor, like the VK 45.02P Ausführung B.

      • How terrible.

Seriously though, I dont really get all this complaining about unhistorical tanks in the game. If they are well balanced (yeah, lets forget about the 4502P for now :D) I see no problem in it. Its an arcade game after all, not historical simulation.

      • The only 100% true fakes though are the WTE, 28 Proto and T25/2. The rest are either game balance changes or were kind of sort of planned like the 50m with WG filling in the gaps.

    • Well, I like how it looked actually and I wouldn’t like a Chieftain as a tier 10. I would rather have a buffed Conqueror on tier 10 with the L1A1, while the Conqueror on tier 9 stays but loses the L1A1, while either getting the 105 mm L7A1 or a buffed 20 pounder with very nice ROF.

      • So what you’re saying is that you’d want a shitty, completely retarded Conqueror that would just be another FantasyVehicle. Luckily noone cares about your opinion.

        • conquerer with spaced armor everywhere 50mms thick and a tortise top gun theres your t10 brit heavy :p

  3. “it’s not known for now, what will happen to T-62A turret, when the tank is reworked to HD”

    What does it mean?

  4. - Storm states that the Chieftain will be better than FV215b

So at this time fv215b very op so it means that Chieftain will be from some unknown galaxy

    • It’s a deceptively good tank, but in no way in hell can it be considered OP…
Even when you sidescrape, you are showing a weakspot, and one with an ammo rack and crew hiding behind it, to boot.

The FV215b has one thing going for it, and it’s the upper half: turret and gun.
The rest is complete garbage. And for a heavy, that’s not a good thing. At all.

      • My thoughts exactly. Not to mention, that there’s a nice weak spot on the turret too (viewport). Not the easiest to damage, but still…

        • T29 has a hull that can be troublesome to pen for tier5 and 6, can sidescrape without showing an ammo rack, a centre mounted turret, and the modules don’t self-destruct on impact.
The T29′s hull is not that bad, very much in line, if not better, than the other tier7 heavies.

The turret is much, much better of course, but the hull is quite good compared to the others on it’s on accord.
          The FV215b’s hull? Complete garbage.

        • ROFL T29 has perfectly adequate hull for its tier. Actually i would go as far as to say T29 is the best heavy in its tier by a large margin. Not the case with FV215b…. Cannot wait enough to get rid of that tragedy on tracks.

  5. - according to Storm, the real fate of the FV4202 premium (for free or not) will be announced “closer to winter” …

When its too late to grind fast and you have to buy premium account or free XP :)

    • I still don’t understand why people don’t play the british mediums, they are so fun from tier 4 and up, maybe except the 4202, but the rest are just fabulous with 7/1 being the pinnacle of epicness.

      • Well I did start grinde british mediums exactly to get FV4202. I did play FV4202 first time in test server . And it was AWSOME . Sure it was in test server full of noobs but still gameplay on it was epic .

      • The only “fun” one is Cromwell.
Everything before and after is… average in the enjoyment department. Comet and Centurions depend on skill too much for an average player.
There’s also the fact that 7/1′s L7 gun reloads too slow to be really good. I’ve used the 20pdr all the way, and even then, it’s average.
4202 is total shit, but we’re not talking about it.

      • Tier 4 – good.
Tier 5 – fucking BS UP tank.
        Tier 6 – godlike.
Tier 7 – kind of good.
        Tier 8 – meh.
Tier 9 – bigger than all heavy tanks, only L7 makes it not utter shit.
        Tier 10 – pending.

            • well cruisers are considered sealclub tanks too, arent they.

The line as a whole is probably one of the most balanced lines in the game, in terms of differences of individual tank in their tier-to-tier performance. The cromwell and comet are really good, but there is no tank really lacking. Maybe the 4202, havent played it after the buff, before it was just hopeless, dunno how is it now. But I dont get it too, why people dont play the Brits more.

            • Cruiser 3 is best seal clubber tank, cruiser 4 would be up there if not for the tier 5 games.

I mean if you thought the tier 4 was could you should be aware that the tier 2 and 3 are essentially the same but at lower tiers.

        • Tier6 is great, but I can’t stand the long aimtime
Tier7 is tough, because all tier7 meds suck donkey dick. But this one doesn’t suck as much dick.
Tier8 is great, but boring as fuck. One of the least flexible tanks ever
Tier9 is the same, but with a bigger gun
TierX is pointless. Not unplayable, but completely pointless.
          Good riddance to it.

            • Yes, the VK3002DB, as much as I like the look, is amazing…same for the incredible Chi-ri, magnificent T43, and the list goes on.

              They’re up-tiered, up-softstat’d tier6 meds expected to fight tier8 and 9.
Save for an exception or two with a gun actually fit for tier7 (like the T20), they are all completely undergunned, and at best relegated to cannon-fodder, vultures and distractions.

To further condemn your words….I played the VK 3002DB with the short 88 against 130mm S-70 wielding IS4s back in the day.
I know exactly when to fight, and when to just leave. I also know when an entire collection of tanks is just undergunned for the task they are asked to do.

        • Tier 6 – fun
Tier 7 – after cromwell feels like shit
          Tier 8 – very good
Tier 9 – good but to many times team just sucks cock

            • Good gun depression, decent turret and great pen for a tier8 med.
Stay back and snipe, and you do very, very well.

63% WR with it, no platoons.
It’s a great tank, but it’s boring as fuck. That’s literally all you do: find a hulldown spot, shoot at some enemies, proceed to the next hulldown spot. There is absolutely nothing else to do.

  6. - Maus will not be buffed. Of all tier 10′s, it’s first in damage blocked by armor and second in winrate and average XP per battle.

    WG fucket idiots ……
WG plays Tetris instead of WOT

    • Actually since the MAUS got buffed (turret rotation speed) it has become a super nice tank. Like everybody else I’d love a better cannon or at least having the same RoF as the E-100, but in reality it is not really necesary for the MAUS to perform well in most scenarios and not entirely bad in others…

    • Maus is fine as long as you can use its armor (ofc there are always some gold spaming morons to deal with but it isn’t too problematic :P ), the gun isn’t the best but combined with the survivability of the Maus it does its job (no real need to buff the rate of fire).
You can’t drive a Maus like you drive any other T10 HT, if you don’t enjoy it then don’t drive it!
I had some good games in the Maus (also some very frustrating) and overall it clearly doesn’t need any buffs or nurfs and with the tanking bonus XP I will enjoy driving this tank even more :P

  7. >> – XP for “tanking” will return, but later

I wonder if they consider my proposal…

    >> – the characteristics of new LT’s are final

Shame, they should change MM to normal spread, apart from 8tier.

  8. - Storm confirms: FV215b (120) will be changed to Chieftain Mk.3 and FV4202 to Centurion Action X

I thought Mk II was due to appear?

    - FV215b (120) will not stay in the game
    - Storm states that the Chieftain will be better than FV215b

    L11 120mm powaaaaah

    - Storm states that he can’t say whether Action X turret will be durable (good for “tanking”), models have to be made first and it has to be tested, but the turret will be tough overall

Let’s hope it gets a tough turret and high DPM, otherwise it will end up like the poor Fatton.

    - XP for “tanking” will return, but later

Longer suffering for E-100 and Maus :(

    - the characteristics of new LT’s are final

M41 and maybe LTTB could use a bit nerfing and T49 could really use a buff.

    - Maus will not be buffed. Of all tier 10′s, it’s first in damage blocked by armor and second in winrate and average XP per battle

The XP and WR part surprises me, but the poor thing still can’t profit from its armor.

      • LOL, M41 is the best by far, LTTB is good but the gun depression really hurts it. T49 is great as it is. WG should buff the gold ammo as nobody will shoot it which is what they want.

    • Tank exchange /= free

You earnt a T10 heavy you end up with a T10 heavy, just not the same one you bought

  9. Wait, that rectangular IS-7 barrel…
It looks like it’s just lacking smoothing groups, or are made of incredibly few verts.. Can’t see why this would be so hard to fix o,O

Given that i work with 3D models myself, it really is not difficult to fix.

    • You see, because WG has a lot of developers who are “developing”, while only a few are actually working on the game itself ;) …

    • If people whine too much, WG’ll fix it.
Get ready to join the round barrels faction.

    • It may either be a limit on time (delaying the popular model) or wanting to keep the polygon count from rising even further.

      Hard to say really.

  10. “it’s possible for the matchmaker to override the “similar time spent on each battletier” and, for example, if it was your turn to end up as a top tank but there are few tanks below your tier for the team to be built that way, it will put you on the bottom of the team instead to avoid waiting”

This is absolute rubbish. MM pays no attention to time spent on battletier on NA. I played 12 games on mt Centurion 1 on Saturday, and 10 were in battle tier 11. 2 games were battle tier 9.

Then I switched to my Church 7 and played 10 games, all Battletier 8.

This is not a complaint, but you have more games at bottom tier than middle and top tier combined on NA.

    • “I played 12 games on mt Centurion 1 on Saturday, and 10 were in battle tier 11″

Maybe you should fail-platoon a little less then. I know it’s hard for some to understand, but 8+2 isn’t 11.

      • This is why I rarely post, I make a simple typo, it was Battle Tier 10 (I hardly platoon) and get an insult in return. What I do to you?

  11. If they wouldn’t implement some stupid mission to get FV, that would be great. Not that I’m some cheap fuck, but I hate those missions so much I’d rather just buy a tank than play for it. That’s mostly because WG makes missions that are achievable only by major no-lifers. As for actual release, I’d like to know what “closer to winter” actually means? Does that mean “FV will be free with the next patch that comes out in like 7 days so good luck grinding it” or it would be given some time to grind like it was with T34? I was driving T32 at the time when they actually said that T34 will become premium and it past like 6 months until it actually became premium. Will we have the same possibility or what? I think, if they were to give it for free (which I somehow doubt unless SerB gets laid so they catch him in a good mood), they should give it some time because many people would by prem account just to grind it and they would get more money from prem account than from people actually buying this tank for money…

  12. I like FV4202 overall specially after the buff they made this patch. The tank is also good for climbing, sniping and quick maneuverability. Armor could bounce shells occasionally and I tend to avoid being hit since It’s a medium. Downside is the top speed for me, it can’t go to key positions effectively without seeing another medium beats me to it. I’m just afraid of the upcoming Action X Cent, because it might become a downgrade to current 4202, with same speed as Cent. family, it might also get the same size as Cent. Tier8 or 9 and that would kill it.

    • The turret is excessively junk.

The only part of the tank which can “bounce shells” is the upper front hull which is very low and hard to hit.

The turret on the other hand is entirely the height of the hull + tracks again and can be penetrated from all sides especially the front.

You cannot leverage the best armour of the tank at all and the weakest armour is easily penetrated and visible every time you try to fire.

The centurions actually have turret armour and the actionX should be an improvement on that department.

  13. You should get this Chaffee XP even if you don’t own it correct?.
Also, I don’t see it said anywhere, is there going to be a silver compensation to cover the price change?..

I have 40k exp on my M5 Stuart, So burning 16k exp is a no brainer, Just unsure if I should (or rather, need) to have it in my hangar for this change.

  14. “the Chaffee compensation (43340 XP) will be added to the current XP you have on the Chaffee. ”

So help me here, I have the thing elite with Accelerate Crew ticked. Will it go to the crew or will it go to Free XP and I will need to convert it over to Free XP with gold?

    • My guess, I think it’s going to go to normal Tank XP and not Free XP..
So you should get 43340 and be able to spend 28100 (t37), 4100 (75mm gun M17), and 2050 (M24 Tracks) leaving you with 9090 tank XP.
Of course, perhaps the current tracks and gun are just going to get “changed” to the new items?.

  15. - the characteristics of new LT’s are final

T49 needs a buff to traverse speed in order to be as viable as other T8 LTs. It could also use a slight buff to gun soft stats (accuracy and aim time mainly, perhaps even a minor reload buff)
