Hello everyone,
an extremely interesting post by Tanitha appeared on ASIA forums about how the bots will be punished and detected… well, instead of talking about it, I’ll just repost it. Here it is.
Dear Players.
We currently have 3 systems for which bots are detected, Which currently generates ~15 bots a day being reliably detected. And about 25 a day which are probably bots but not sufficiently proven to be so..
With the bots being perma banned, and the probably bots given a warning.
We now have access to two additional systems which are more reliable than the above..
The two new systems are specifically targeted at smart bots, where our previous detection methods weren’t great on the reliability..
I’ve reviewed the two new systems now, which Ru are currently using.. And decided these will be switched on on Asia shortly..
I will not go into the mechanics of these systems.. suffice to say they will cover the gap in bot detection that was previously there.
Due to the accuracy and thoroughness of the new systems,, one would assume bans to be placed on mass, regularly..
Due to the likely high detection rate, we will be using the new detection system similar to Ru server, and using it as a prevention tool.
In other words, we will “likely” be reducing the sanctions down from permanent to 15 days for first offense, 45 for second, perma for 3rd.
In addition to the above. An update on the captcha system.
Its still in progress, however development had slowed on it.. its importance was escalated again today and is back in motion again.
Currently its scheduled for work shortly, for which I’ve been allocated to assist in its development personally. However its final completion ETA is still not in the short future.
In short, bots nuked on mass, soon, by two new detection systems, for 15 days initially,, sanctions to escalated sharply for repeat offenders.
+ continued detection with the 3 old systems, as per the past, also for 15 days initially, sanctions to escalated sharply for repeat offenders.
Bot detection will continue on the old systems, until the new systems are put in place shortly..
Regards
Tan
Is it true? Does it really work as well as Tanitha says?
Yes. Russian forums are full of whiny little bitches, who got banned for botting. Of course, everyone claims innocence, but then, there is an old saying: “prisons are full of ‘wrongly conficted’”. The captcha development is a nice touch.
And what about EU? Oh, that’s right, no plans to implement this system, as far as I know (and yes, I asked). We wouldn’t want them to start chasing bots now, would we. That would – heaven forbid – add some ACTUAL WORK to their schedule, which is unfortunately totally full.
It turns out that according to Ectar, the system is already running on EU. I apologize for the misinformation.
ASIA server doing something right? Am i dreaming?
Blessed on Tan!
15 bots per day? I have 1 bot at least in every match. in the EU server… They’re just sitting in the middle of the circle and turning it’s turret, or raising and lowering it’s gun…
I believe these are 4 years old kids not bots. I have no idea how they can enjoy the game. Yesterday I had amx12t doing this for six minutes as bot restricted to base so I watched him for a while, reported him, when battle was won 7 vs 3 he started playing and dealt like 450 dmg. There are many players like this on tier I, still significant amount (at least to be annoying) on mid tiers including tier 8 premium noobs and surprisingly even on tier X. It’s sad to see high tier winrate of Rambo1958 and similar players and his will to continue ruining thousands of game for others.
Recently I had Lowe behind arty, arty suggested to report him, so Lowe team killed him and got temporary ban. Arty excused for provoking him and losing two top tier tanks. So not bot, just idiot.
Ectar probably just lied. He’s good at that.
“That would – heaven forbid – add some ACTUAL WORK to their schedule, which is unfortunately totally full.”
WTF did I just see when clicking that link??? o.O
I wish someone would ask Big boss Kislyi in of those interviews what the hell is wrong with WG EU?? RU seems to be the most active, ASIA and US also seem to be reasonably active…EU neah….we’re too cool for school we’ll just be chillin’.

So they don’t nullify your grinding progress and/or take away silver?
Time to install a bot…
Perma ban = effectively that.
Maybe the time has come for huge part of EU players start playing in RU or ASIA servers. Probably thanthey (WC EU) would start working on EU servers/playerbase as well?
Good luck playing with pings you’re going to get that way. ;)
That last sentence is pretty much unnecessary – I’d bet like 60% of those people don’t even work there anymore after a year and a half. Not mentioning RU and NA have stuff like that too.
Bloody pussyfooting… one warning is more than enough for botters. Perma ban them immediately.
Just yesterday I encountered 3 bots in like 8 battles, 1 in my team and 2 in enemy’s (thank god) before I got 1h ban for shooting yet another PL idiot who purposefully pushed me on enemy fire. It’s so obvious – they were just standing in base circle and when fired upon started acting strange, trying to locate the shooter. They were pretty dumb though but yeah, EU doesn’t have bot problem at all. I bet they will implement anti-suicide before anti-bot in EU but don’t realize that most of the players suicide only because team is filled by bad players, bots and afks and don’t want to waste time on yet another fail battle which in 90% results in less than 250exp and minus 1000-20000 credits depending on tier – remove those and no one will suicide.
ahahaaaa :-D :-D :-D
That would – heaven forbid – add some ACTUAL WORK to their schedule
:-D :-D
(i’m sitting in my job, doing same, but i laughing soo good right now :-))
“Ok ok, there are bots in our game.Forget what we said earlier this year. So we install this anti-bot system and it works fine. Are you happy now? What´s that? You want that system on the EU-Server too? Nope. You don´t like this? How terrible!”
“prisons are full of ‘wrongly convicted”…. I imagine in Putin land that is true. Business as usual.
Bot accounts should have a 128 character captcha system that must be completed in 10 seconds and applied to any accounts logging on from the same IP address.

PFFFFFTTTTT
Why the feck aren’t WG EU implementing this?
Because there a bunch of retarded son of bitches that wouldn’t know what hard work was if it smacked them in the face (There are a few exceptions at WG EU) but for most part their a bunch of clueless morons.
Indeed terribly strange not to implement a proven system on the EU. I think it is strange how they can’t implement something at around the same time, or even at the same time on the different server. They are, afterall not that bloody different.
Ah, but is the system actually proven? If even on the SEA server (held to be the most bot-ridden) they are hedging their bets regarding ban lengths then I suspect that the number of false positives is rather high.
yeah looks like WG EU got their hands tied up 24/7!
Stronk work!

According to Tanitha’s letter they catch about 40 bots daily of which only 15 are reliable enough for outright banning. That’s 37% accuracy. I thing it is pretty high for an automated system and also why they decided on the three-strikes penalty. Since there is a 63% probability that it wasn’t a bot.
