Buy Type 59 and Panzer II Ausf.J for Charity

Hello everyone and welcome to 2015!

Let’s start with something very positive, shall we?

Wargaming decided to do some good work with charity in grand style. They donated two codes (with some t-shirts and stuff nobody cares about) – one for Type 59 and one for the legendary Panzer II Ausf.J to be auctioned to the highest bidder for the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity organization.

This charity organization is a respectable Polish charity, dedicated to helping children in need in Poland by buying medical equipment for surgeries and such.

Yes, this event is primarily for Polish players and as such, it was published on Polish portal. The auction of two bundles itself (one for the Type, one for the Panzer) takes place on the Allegro portal (basically a Polish version of E-Bay) and is active until 14.1.2015 and the entire proceedings will be donated to charity. Now THAT is something I can get behind, no “20 percent from bundle” bullshit.

In order to participate, you don’t have to be Polish (confirmed by WG staff, anyone can participate), but you have to register on Allegro.

The link to the Type 59 auction is here (current bid is cca 381 Euro), for Panzer IIJ is here (current bid is 234 Euro). So, good luck!

Actually took me a while to decide whether to post it or not, since with the western buying power, Polish players might actually not get this prize as the western players simply have more money, but it’s for charity, it’s a good thing… so why not.

PS: it’s first day of the year and we have a saying “the way the first day goes the rest of the year will go as well”, so please, I don’t want to see any hate posts or anything. It’s charity. Just… enjoy your first day and drink a lot of liquids if you have a hangover :)

      • Charity is when you decide how much you give to someone, and not when someone forces you to either give a fixed amount or nothing.

        • I would oppose on SS’s statement. 20% from bundles is going to yield MUCH more money than 2 random codes, however high they may sell. Undoubtedly 100% would be even better, but still no reason to call that bullshit. Looks more like PR than actual charity… But at least little Siemkas will benefit, perhaps the money will save some lives. Glad to hear that.

          Happy New Year!

          • But the idea of the great orchestra was always to collect money this way. Actors and sportsmen give their rewards away to be sold on allegro. WG did exactly the same. Of course, volunteers collect the money on the streets during the grand final.

          • The whole idea is to offer rare things for auction, like some things donated by celebrities with their autographs for example, so not only will they sell on auction, but they can make a show about it, to entertain the viewers and hopefully make them participate as well and donate, if any way they can afford.

        • Are you retarded? No one forces you to do anything. The current bid is as stated. If you want to participate, you can outbid it, if you don’t want to participate you can simply walk away. Also, if you want to donate, they offer means to donate any money you want, even 1 penny, if you feel like supporting their cause.

        • How is an auction forcing you to give a fixed amount?

Charity auctions have been happening for a century, it is how most rich people show off how generous they are at these charity galas and such. You know rich sportsman donates unimportant to them piece of memorabilia, rich folk compete to show off their generosity in auction, charity benefits.

    • If you’re happy and you know it crap your pants
Cause you are about to pay 1000€ for a single virtual bullshit medium tank

  1. Yuo know, companies offering electronic goods can do stuff like this easilly because thwy dont need to sell something real they just type code, or something

  2. I must say that WG actually had a good idea (I know that something like that seems impossible)
Oh, and a happy new year!

  3. Looks like there are not only tanks in this bundle but also Razer products, Italeri model, additional codes for premium tanks and plenty of t-shirts and that kind of stuff.

From what i know this Allegro portal got many versions in europe and u probably can log using your for example czech account and buy on polish auction.

  4. 1625 PLN for T-59 atm…lel, just lel, its more than my monthly payment (when I still had a job….)

    Also

“They donated two codes (with some t-shirts and stuff nobody cares about)” – I wouldnt be so sure about this “stuff nobady cares about” There is Razer DeathAdder mouse, Razer mousepad, Italeri Tiger model kit (with additional tank for WoT, Pz B2) and some usefull bags (tho Im not sure about their quality :P). Pz II J also got the mouse and mousepad but instead of Tiger kit it gots Chaffe kit (with T1E6 tank) and Himmelsdorf kit

  5. BTW Oganiser of the orchestra, Jurek Owsiak, is the person becouse of who “siema” is used so commonly in Poland :)

If I remember correctly last year there was a chance to buy a drive in a tank or flight in a jet, but as its 1 Jan i may be wrong.
I think it’s the best charity organisation in Poland and despite numerous attacs on them they do awesome stuff.

Anyway good luck for all who will try to buy this bundle and happy new year!

At over 381 and 234€ respectively already, it’s well beyond the purchasing power of not only polish players by now, but most western europe players, too.

    • Yeah. Average buying power of a country doesn’t count for shit here. Whoever ends up with it will be forking out a lot of cash. It’s just a matter of who has the means, and wants it enough. It will just be one single person for each bundle. That one single (rich/affluent/obsessed) person could just as well be Polish as anything else.
Every country has rich people, Poland included. Poland also has a large amount of World of Tanks players. 1+1=siemaPL.

  7. I bet we will see it on ebay germany very soon for 2000-3000euro. Germans are even more lunatic that USA (money wise) so it will probably sell in the first 5minutes.

  8. There’s more funny and interesting things auctioned for the Great Orchestra. I’d like to show you a ‘thing’ set to auction by my hometown – you can buy a right to name one of the roundabouts: http://aukcje.wosp.org.pl/rondo-w-jaworznie-nazwa-na-rok-i1243828
Last year a local IT company owners won the auction and name it – as a huge fans of the band – with the name of deceased Slayer guitarist, Jeff Hanneman: http://bi.gazeta.pl/im/fe/26/eb/z15410942Q.jpg

    • Remember that money from this auction go on charity. And yes, people can pay this shitload of money for pixels.

  9. Well, it’s much more important for Polish kids to get medical hardware then for Polish players to get those tanks, so don’t feel bad in any way about that :) .
I only hope there won’t be any trolls, putting fake bids there…

  10. seems like a pretty good idea. I bet the charity will be very happy with the donations. the bids ATM are
    panzer 2J+goodies: 23,537.4 euros
    Type 59+goodies: 40,239.9 euros
I just don’t even… I think this has surpassed western buying power.

    Happy new year!
