Hello everyone,

currently, pretty much anyone important in Wargaming is on a developer meeting on Cyprus for following three days (or is it two now? not sure), so don’t expect a lot of news this weekend. Will try to glean what I can however.

- according to Storm, the SU-76i issue is one time case, there weren’t cases like that before
- SU-76i issue was fixed fast enough “for the fire not to spread”. Later, Storm adds: “Unfortunately, mistakes happen.”
- there is a bug where some vehicles in the hangar “sink” into the ground – Storm knows about it, will be fixed
- it looks like the old “automatical switch of gold shells price from credit to gold” bug is back, Storm will investigate
- developers will investigate an alleged bug causing minimap lags

Oh and there’s one more pretty nasty bug as well, but that demands a separate post, so stay tuned. TBH 9.4 really wasn’t a good patch, when it comes to bugs.

Of SU-76i Once More

Hello everyone,

by now, you are surely already aware of the fact that SU-76i was removed from the shop. Hmm… why do I keep writing SU-76i, when it’s SU-76I? Bad habits I guess. Anyway, right – about the removal.

There are bits and pieces we can put together.

It took cca 40 hours to collect the SU-76i statistics on Russian server – essentially, the Russians had it 24 hours longer than us (their patch came one day earlier). From what I can tell, first feedback that it was not such a bright idea started arriving to the developers after a few hours of the patch day. The vehicle appeared in somewhat large numbers on its tier and Yuri Pasholok noted around noon on his blog that the vehicle might be overpowered (he reports 100 percent winrate in 14 battles), at which point he likely contacted other WG developers, who in the meanwhile started realizing what happened and started paying attention to the vehicle statistics.

Hello everyone,

here’s another funny little RNG video, this time from the Balkans. There are several parts – the author (Heruvim89) made them very… specific for the region (quotes from movies and such), so I was a bit reluctant to post them (trying to avoid nation-specific videos, plus the way it was made could be improved), but this latest one made me genuinely laugh (specifically the AMX-13 scene). Hiring a Tank Now Available in China

first, many thanks to Chinese player Hesitation_Snow for sharing this piece of information. Basically, in 0.9.4, a new option was introduced to Chinese server – you can now hire premium tanks for a limited time. Now, as you probably know already, Chinese server is very special – it’s kept separate from the usual Wargaming servers and is license-operated by a Chinese company called Kongzhong, who basically just bought the license to operate World of Tanks from Wargaming.

The policies on such features are decided by the Chinese and the server thus has many unique features (and definitely more pay to win) than the regular main servers. Thus, it’s not known, whether this feature will make it to the regular servers, or it’s a Chinese exclusive thing. The basic points are this:

- players can hire tier 2 to tier 7 premium tanks for a limited time for gold
- maximum hire time is one month
- in the example, Churchill III (tier 5) can be hired for a month for 380 gold

On TD Viewrange Nerf

Hello everyone,

just a quick post explaining something. Many of you were shocked yesterday by the upcoming tier 9 and 10 tank destroyer viewrange, which is:

FV4004: 320 meters
FV4005: 330 meters

While current viewrange tier 10 tank destroyers is (examples):

Object 268: 400 meters
Object 263: 410 meters
WT E-100: 420 meters

etc. (basically between 400-420 meters). So why introduce vehicles, that have such a low viewrange suddenly? Well, the answer is (unfortunately/fortunately) simple. I asked around and there is a massive viewrange nerf coming (likely in 9.5, the nerf was announced earlier by Storm). It will definitely concern tank destroyers (they will have viewrange nerfed to the FV4004/4005 levels) and it’s possible it will concern other vehicles to certain extent. Details are unfortunately not known yet, it’s not even in testing yet.

The goal of this nerf is to improve the role of light tanks and scouting in the game.

In this part, we’ll take a look at how could the Hungarian Tas rohamlöveg tank destroyer be implemented into WoT. Everything is the same as in the previous articles: I will try not to predict game parameters (health points or alpha damage) and the balance parameters (radiorange, RoF, etc.) would not necessarely be implemented as I listed them below.

However, the implementation of this TD into the game is a bit difficult. You’ll see why.

Please note that these below are only the historical/logical characteristics, the potentially implemented tanks could get unhistorical stuff as last resort, if the game balance requires it.
