Important: Something urgent came up. Feedback to 8.10 (tests, screenshots and such) will be posted later than usual, I will do it in the night when I come back.

Something to read while the test installs. Not much though:

- when the turrets getting ripped off by ammorack explosions are implemented, the turrets won’t get ripped off by regular heavy shells, causing oneshots – SerB: “If we wanted to make it possible to oneshot tanks, we’d have done it a long time ago”
- first version of the 8.10 test will not have the new Japanese green color
- TAA anti-aliasing will come, soon
- Chi-Nu Kai will also be made green
- Cannoneer explains that real life STB-1 had -5/+9 depression/elevation, but in the game, it will be buffed to -10 to compensate for the fact that the vehicle won’t have hydraulic suspension
- there will be either no or very small clipping in the STB-1 model during full gun depression, the picture posted earlier that suggests there is some model clipping just looks that way
- STA-1 (tier 8) will also have -10 depression:

      • I said I’d keep its secret, but I have to say it now. Unfortunately, after being assaulted by its wife, the Type 61 was kicked out of his house, homeless and in the hash cold, he recently learned of his mom’s death. Now that the Type61 is homeless, he was kicked out of his college without an address to re-register to, they couldn’t legally keep him.

        So if you must know, that is why the Type61 is depressed :(

          • What if tanks had personality? Would the T95 be a lazy fatass couch potato, and the T28 his son chancho? What if the T50-2 was some little kid hyped up on sugar. Or, the Maus could be that uncle that all the little loltraktors look up to and aspire to be, only when the loltraktors grow up they become more and more aware that the Maus is just some deadbeat still living with his mother.

  1. Most important thing for me here is penetrable objects. Port map will be completely changed (For the worse) for the North side

  2. Just reduce the gun depression back to -5 or -6. With -10… and 3k DPM.. and 390 alpha, its just too much.

      • it has 10 mm less AP penetration while still maintaining the 330 mm HEAT pen, tbh this is one of the worst excuses for a so called “balance”.
        Just think about it: 10 mm is around 4% difference to the other tier X meds.

        In my eyes, this is a prime example of nice moneygrab by WG, they knew that all the weabos where jizzing their pants just by looking at the first screens of STB-1.

        I could be wrong though, maybe this thing blows up just by sneezing at it, bad module health, terrain resistance, who knows?

        • Compared to other meds it has bad accuracy on the move, so its only limited to stationary firing positions.

          The turret dosent bounce anything.

          I dont feel it has the Leopard speed, its a bit more sluggish than leo.

          I’d say its balanced.

    • funny thing that at the test server nothing bounces on the STB, i play the 430 and just shoot normal shelss directly at the gun and it pretty much penetrates 70% of the time, so much for hur durp its gona be op.

    • He clearly meant “random” 1-shots (which currently only happen with the ammo-rack) every other instance is merely doing enough damage in 1 shot to kill the HP pool.

      I am really glad they are not looking to implement this. I don’t want to point my heaviest armor at someone only to have my whole turret ripped off. It would make armor even more pointless then it already is.

  5. They said those turrets will be solid objects when they fall on the ground, does that mean you can take damage from a turret landing on top of your tank?

    Has this been asked before?

    • I’d rather want it’s tumor armour buffed instead of gun depression…that huge pile of shit on top of the turret renders the overall armour of the tank useless even from distance…every dude with few brain cells can aim for it…

  6. If you’re going to point to the fact that the STB-1 has no armor, and thus won’t be OP, you’re probably not a very good player, and rely on armor far too much. This thing in it’s current form will obsolete every tier 10 med except maybe the Bat.

  7. STB-1 is a high agility terrain-fighter with a slow acceleration, similar to FV4202, but much better everything. The Leo1 by comparison is fast to get to high speed but visibly more clunky and less dingy. The 0.36 of the STB i find to be just enough for most things. The new Obj presumably has dingy armor, plays like a heavy medium like the rest of the T10 russian mediums. I said presumably since i dinged more with the STB’s front than i dinged with the new Obj. Actually, in retrospect, the STB really does feel a lot like the 4202, just done.. differently and with a proper turret.

  9. Regarding clipping: i don’t care about barrel clipping through the hull – i am very concerned about gun breech hitbox (invisible) clipping through turret roof and having gun damaged even from theoretical bounces.
    Could someone test this, please?
