Hello everyone,

Veider (one of the developers) was a stream guest yet again along with Kirill Oreshkin (the chief of WG movie department), here’s what they wrote on the forums (the summary was made by maiorboltach, LJ forums):

- while historical battles will be mostly 15vs15, it is possible that there will be some cases where it is impossible to balance it correctly historically that way, so there might for example be 15vs12 clashes as well
- currently, developers are working on historical battles balance
- the weight of ammo carried will not be taken into account in the future, as compared to the weight of the tank it makes no difference
- KV-5 is doing fine both statistically and farm-wise
- apparently the “free IS-6″ event is confirmed, there will be a video on that in a few days
- there will be changes in FV4202, but not anytime soon – the changes will be “cool” though
- T57 nerf is not planned for now
- there will be LT changes in order to make LT’s more “action-oriented”, but not very soon. Developers do have a lot of plans in mind though. Developers want to make the LT class “self-sufficient”. They identify the LT problems as low vitality (survivability) and slow moving across the map because of the physics
- T-50-2 will definitely not return


- apparently there will be no special team battles for tiers 5, 6 etc, because the player base would be spread too thin in various modes
- T-34-3 will not be buffed
- VK4502B (rear turret) will be changed, but developers won’t tell how yet
- M6A2E4 will most likely not be buffed
- first city map to come will be Kharkov – in patch 9.0
- Japanese tanks are “challenging” according to devs
- Type 62 will not return to shops, as far as Veider knows
- there is already a WG WoT client version working with Havok, there are several prototypes of Havok clients working already, all they need to do is to add HD graphics and optimize
- Object 770 is very unlikely to appear
- developers are still considering whether to implement the option to choose maps (SS: or disabling some maps) for random battles. As and argument for implementing, there is the fact it’s cool. However, the arguments against it are the facts that it will bring all sorts of server trouble and the whole idea in general is problematic
- on WT E-100 gun: “Cool gun, eh? :)”
- special medals for team battles will come soon, they are already being developed
- there are plans for team battles, such as the map selection, “peak and ban of tanks” (SS: sorry, no idea what that means), polishing the format, tournament interface
- there will be the option to disable ingame chat: it’s already being worked on
- there are plans to introduce battle descriptions, tanker quotes, historical facts etc. on the battle loading screen
- Q: “What should I do, if I already have an IS-6 and I want to get it for free?” A: “Sell it *laughing*”
- apparently no autoloading premium tank is planned
- the info on “free IS-6″ and other events will come tomorrow for all regions

    • I don’t see the problem, WoT is already a team based game where there is really poor comunication between players, and you wan’t to have people totally uncomunicated. It’s not enough when they cap while you say No cap and it is 13v1, now you won’t even be able to tell them :P

    • So tomatoes can cover their ears and never even see people’s message explaining why they fucked up?

      • So progamerers don’t have to endure tha clan spamming, the map ping spamming and the tomato rage.

    • As I undersood (while making verbatim report), that thay want to modify 7/42 as CM in Dota2. Soma e-sports players say, that they want more different tactics, so by this they want to add different tanks as KV-4 and so on

      • That’s what I’m thinking too. It would make gameplay much more interesting and require players to have more available tanks, though the downside is it would take a bit longer to start a match. Not sure how that fits with the current WoT mentality.

    • my understanding is that when someone chooses a tank or a number of people chose the same tank, it won’t be available for the rest of the team, so they have to chose something else

      there’s a similar implementation in LoL, DOTA – you can’t chose the same hero as someone else in the same team did

  2. If “peak and ban” is actually “pick and ban”, it should be a team game mode where commanders of both teams pick tanks for their own team from a given list by turns, as well as ban tanks from the list of the opposite team so they are not allowed to select these tanks.

    • That would be so lame, and there’s no way they’d do that, MM wait queue for team battles is up to a minute on EU2 lately, adding more rules to that will be impossible, there will just very unlikely be a team versing you with all the tanks excluded that you don’t want to fight against. Sounds like a terrible system in my opinion.

    imho i think they move FV to T8 as premium medium – not many of them on server anyway – and put something else (better?) on T10…because FV is now almost useless T10 medium….

    or they will buff FV to some unhistorical pseudo-thing! its WG afterall =)

    • No chance of a free premium tank. They will most likely replace it altogether without any other compensation. They will do the same to 215B (HT).

      • No chance of a free premium tank apart from the IS-6 they are giving away for grinding only 600k exp.

        FV4202 owners already grinded over 800k exp, and likely spent quite a bit of real money along the way.

        But what WG shouldn’t do is announce it too early like they did with the T34. Try to give as little notice as possible.

        A decent HESH mechanic and fixing the cupola could make all the difference though.

        • I believe he meant the developers said that they will not make another case like the T34.
          And the IS-6 is not technically free, but for a price of in-game labor.

      • I love it as is. It IS challenging and the premium round is near worthless unless you get lucky. But, it is fun to play & the gun is very accurate. IMO it feels like a patton with better gun handling.

      • Shame about it. if they just remodeled the thing to what it was supposed to look like it would be a buff in itself without them even having to touch the stats at all. (Turret in game is way to large, gun mantlet is to small compared to real life, was meant to have welded armor sheet on the front giving it slopped front armor)

          They are claiming on the RU forums that in this video they say both the “Goose” what they call the Mutant M6, and the A-32 will be removed from the store after 8.10

          apparently around the 1 hour 21 min mark.

  4. Most tank company battles are on T6, second most on T8, I bet you could get enough people for team battles together in T6, too.

  5. So, can you do the IS6 mission with premium tanks? Cause that would make it easier for some of us…I mean tier 6 premiums like TOG and SU100Y, etc.

    If they’d just make less terrible maps, this wouldn’t be an issue, at all.

    • One person’s terrible map is another’s favourite. If you allow disabling of maps we will all play Himmelsdorf all the time.

  7. I’m really looking forward to the draw distance circle square to circle thing and FV4202 buffs, but why the hell are they going to give retards the option to remove the chat?
    If they don’t like to communicate go play a fucking singleplayer game! If they don’t like to get insulted fucking learn to play! I’m quite sure this will result in EVEN MORE frustration and especially team killing.

    About the veto feature:
    1) stop making terrible maps
    2) fix the map rotation. There are maps I have not seen in weeks and others I have to play all day every day (at the moment the new and reintroduced maps are haunting me. Out of my last 100 battles I had roughly 8 maps which were not one of the new or reintroduced ones from 0.8.8 and 0.8.9)

    I hope that this also means penetration buff for T2 LT because it is pretty annoying to get into T4 battle and the only thing you can do is die while spotting. Especially when it has so low rotate speed.

    • If you allow disabling of one map then the only way the matchmaker will be able to cope is to only make battles on the least disabled maps.

      Himmelsdorf is probably the least disliked.

      So if you allow map selection then we will only ever play Himmelsdorf, and maybe Malinovka.

      Is that what you want?

  9. I see the ability to turn off chat as a horrible Idea…. This game is team oriented. communication is key. Sometimes commands and map pinging doesn’t cut it.

    Probably means “Pick and Ban of Tanks” – this is like Dota 2 where you can choose what characters (tanks) you can use and ban what characters (tanks) either you or the enemy can use.

    Light Tank buff sounds good. It is much needed, considering that most high tier mediums outclass light tanks in everyway.

  11. Give all light tanks mediocre mobility and shitty gun, nerf the fast ones, and then cry nobody plays em. Gj WG. I hope they will unnerf 2801a bit, or at least give regular mm for scouts, because now only wz 131 and 132 are decent. Good to see they acknowledged the problem.

    • They should nerf them down to their own tier instead of trying to make them useful two tiers higher.

      High tiers have enough light armoured, fast mediums to do the scout job.

    So this is the second tomato-friendly project that they want to implement…
    First one got scrapped(hiding stats option), I hope this gets scrapped too.

    I see more bad things happening than good things if they implement it.

    I’d really rather they didn’t, given wg’s track record for “changing” things. The tank works fine as it is. It just doesn’t spoon feed you like Soviet/American heavies.

    • more turret traverse and RoF would be nice, they can even give it more gun depression when the gun is to the side or rear ;)

    And i want to knew all tanks statistics from server Stats to be transparent…
