For reasons unknown, Hidden Village now has the castle from Sacred Valley standing in the village. The village was also somewhat reworked.

Hello everyone,
an interesting article was published on the Wargaming… I don’t know, blog?, about the evolution of the World of Tanks GUI. Now, it’s mostly aimed at programmers, so I hope I will get the translations right, but I think it is potentially interesting for everyone. If you spot any mistakes or wrong terms, please let me know in comments.
Also, it’s not a word for word translations, more like an excerpt of how the GUI evolved over time. The author of the post worked in Wargaming GUI Programming department for 2,5 years and wanted to sum his past experience with the GUI itself.
First Steps
The first steps consisted of using the tools of BigWorld itself. The idea of the project was born in December 2008 – the original idea was in fact to make a MMO with elves and orcs (that’s where the models from the “orc vs elves” trailer came from), but after thinking it through, the devs decided to do tanks instead. The game was made using the BigWorld engine, which had its own set of tools for creating the GUI. WG programmers followed the “easiest path” and made the first interface based on the BW tools GUI.
Hello everyone,
an interesting thing appeared in my e-mail. A member of the WHY clan, Amayii, sent me a screenie of this message, sent yesterday to the leadership of their clan by Decept1on, a WG employee. I think it is quite interesting.
The test will probably begin next week? Will check then and keep you updated. Also, nice to know that some testers are more equal than others… but I guess it makes sense, when it comes to mode that is pretty much dedicated to clans. I think we can assume that the same thing will happen on RU server as well.
Thanks to plkJaqenHghar
Let it be known that we, Czechs, can make nice ads as well… :)
Hello everyone,
remember the “Inside Info” post I published a while ago? In it, a Wargaming insider was revealing some interesting pieces information. One of the pieces revealed was:
- World of Tanks Xbox will apparently be selling a Super Pershing “Freedom bundle” with a very special skin for the Super Pershing (American flag, basically a pretty wild scheme), but the kicker is, the crew will be 100 percent trained with a 100 percent Brothers in Arms perk, tank with full equipment (rammer, stabilizer, gun laying drive?) and 20 cans of soda – once per account, the cost is apparently set at cca 50 USD – it’s possible that this was actually Microsoft’s idea, but this is not confirmed.
Well… the bundle is here!
Wow.
I like USA in general, I don’t make fun of American customs (hell, I love burgers and I think that the American muscle cars from 50′s-60′s were the most beautiful cars ever made), but this is just ridiculous and asking to be mocked. There is national pride, I get that and I approve, but that doesn’t mean the vehicles have to be covered with giant flags to express that, does it?
To the American readers – a honest question: do you really like this kind of stuff? If you do, okay, no problem, I am just curious.

Hello everyone,
remember the M41 Walker Bulldog leak? A few more bits of information came out.
This however is
a) not 100 percent confirmed
b) could (and probably will) change
c) very preliminary
So keep that in mind. Anyway, according to the leak, the pre-top gun is going to have an autoloader. It’s going to be a 76mm gun with a magazine for 10 rounds, 2 seconds reload between each rounds, each round will do 150 damage and will have 175 penetration (so that’s 1500 damage per clip). The magazine reload time currently is 21 seconds. The top gun will be the same gun (175mm pen, 150 damage), but without an autloader and the reload time between shots will be 3 seconds and it will also have better accuracy.
The size of Walker Bulldog is quite large for a light tank – it’s almost as big as Patton/Pershing.
Edit: Updated the info based on my own sources.
Gun with autoloader (pre-top), 76mm, crew skills taken into account
Penetration: 175
Damage: 150
DPM: 1848,6
Module damage: 105
Reload time for the magazine: 30,685s
ROF: 12,324
Ammo carried: 70
Shells in autoloader: 10
Time between shots: 2s
Top gun (76mm)
Penetration: 175
Damage: 150
DPM: 2681,6
Module damage: 105
Reload time: 3,356
ROF: 17,878
Ammo carried: 65
- Storm confirms: in 9.2 supertest patchnotes, there was a mistake, specifically in the part that says that HD model will display only on player’s tank – in fact, HD models will display on all HD tanks, but the textures will be at 50 percent quality on other tanks
- the change above was made so the textures do not overload graphic memory, Storm states that the difference is noticeable only on 1-1,5 meter distance
- will the change above reduce lags from HD tanks being scouted for the first time on the map that some players have been reporting? Storm: “I cannot say anything about that”
- FV215b (183) HESH pen was nerfed because other nerfs, such as DPM nerf etc. wouldn’t solve the issues with oneshots from this tank, there was even an exact internal calculation of what effect will this change have on heavy tanks when firing at them from the front
- Storm talking about FV215b (183) nerf: “The vehicle was balanced around its AP shell, which has more than decent characteristics. The fact that everyone started using HESH shells was not expected by the balancers and it was our mistake. HESH shell with 230 penetration will still have its uses against “paper” targets and when shooting enemies in the side or in the back”
- IS-3 will not appear in HD in 9.2, it was postponed
- there is no plan to merge Korean and ASIA server
- currently, VK4502(P) Ausf.B is being considered for Armor buffs of the upper and lower glacis plates
- the Sentinel Australian tank might be “introduced one day, not in 2014 though” (SS: according to what Chieftain said earlier, Sentinel will not be a part of the LL “Firefly” branch, so it’s possible it will come later)
- it’s possible the Australian units Kangaroo decal will appear in WoT
