9.3 Test 3 Hotfixes

Hello everyone,

a rather quick “Test 3″ iteration was applied to the 9.3 test server. This iteration includes the following changes:

- Players who researched the M24 Chaffee received 43,340 experience points for this vehicle (SS: this is a compensation for the Chaffee XP price, this is NOT free XP, it is simply the XP difference between old and new Chaffee research cost)
- Display of current server name added to the top panel in the Garage
- Low performance when entering/exiting the Artillery mode fixed (was not included in iteration 1)
- Issues with visual models fixed for the following vehicles: KV-85, T-34, and M3 Lee
- Turret damage boxes for the T67 tank destroyer fixed
- Some crashes and hang-ups of the game client fixed
- Some issues with the Strongholds mode fixed

Angry Russian Kid

Hello everyone,

some kids take World of Tanks too seriously. Check this out – this russian kid got angry that he got killed in his Hellcat by a 46 percent winrate KV-1S driver and goes mental. Important Russian words for the video:

“blya” – fuck
“yebat” – fuck (verb)
“yebanutyj/yebanutovo” – fucking (adj.)
“suka” – bitch/whore
“nyeprabil” – didn’t penetrate the armor
“kvas” – Russian drink, also a Russian nickname for the KV-1S
“pizdyec” – fuck (yes, Russian language is very creative when it comes to insults)

“Kak suka neprabil yevo” – how the fuck didn’t I penetrate his armor
“Nyeprabil kvasa yebanutovo” – didn’t penetrate the armor of that fucking KV-1S

This is how I always imagine the “OMG GAS CHAMBER JEW POLAK SHIT FFS” Hall of Shame members :) (And then they blame me for not taking them seriously… would you? :D)

Type 95 Ha-Go at Sakhalin

Hello everyone,

player CptCav recently visited the Sakhalin island on his cruise from Hokkaido. There, in the Sakhalin regional museum in the port of Korsakov (Russia), stands a Type 95 Ha-Go, not exactly a common museum piece. He took a couple of photos of this vehicle, enjoy!

The museum description of this vehicle says:

This tank was used by the commander of the 4th Light Tank Company, a part of the 11th Tank Regiment, located on the Shumshu island. The tank was knocked out by Soviet anti-tank rifle fire during the Kurile Landing Operation on 18th of August, 1945. It was moved from the battlefield and burned by its crew. The tank was moved from the Shumshu island to the city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk by LLC “Kurilian Fisheries Company”, with is restoration made by JSC “Aurora” of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. It was installed in the museum yard on 1.9.2010.

Model Changes in 9.3 Test 2

Hello everyone,

Test 2 of 9.3 brought allegedly some model fixes. Let’s have a look at them.

Generally speaking, it’s pretty much always some small thing. I was not able to notice most of them. The IS-7 model got fixed (here, the bug where the barrel is displayed in low quality in the game was not fixed, they only fixed the muzzle brake, which seems to be the change the patch mentions), ISU-152 as well (same issue, gun was in low res, was fixed).

I did not notice any changes on Jagdpanther, LTTB, Hellcat (here, the track bug was probably fixed), Chaffee, Walker Bulldog, T-34, T-34/85M – these changes probably involve something really tiny, or stuff invisible with viewers, such as track display.

12.9.2014

As a part of the fighting against the bots on RU server, Wargaming permanently banned only today more than 1500 accounts of botters, who used bots despite previous 45 day ban warning. Now I wish EU server did the same thing…

- 9.3 will be released “later” than Tuesday (SS: Thursday I think)
- T49 will not have another 90mm gun
- T67 turret armor will be fixed in the final 9.3 version
- Storm states that the HD IS-7 armor was not nerfed, everything is roughly the way it was (there are differences like 1-2 degrees of angle etc.), the side of the turret is even stronger than before
- XP bonus for “tanking” (blocking shells with armor) and the punishments for suiciders will definitely not appear in the final 9.3 release version, it does however not mean the features were scrapped

Storm explains why it was removed:

“Without doublechecking by collecting the stats, we can’t release such changes. Accordingly, the formula has to be changed, released to live server (in such a way that the XP bonus was not issued, only written in statistics), the statistics have to be collected and only then it is decided whether such a thing can be released or not. The “tanking bonus” stats are collected and analysed since Spring. There were several iterations. Current fail is connected to the fact that in the previous iteration, the stats were not collected and processed correctly.”

The Black Brigade – Part 4

Part 1: http://ftr.wot-news.com/2014/09/05/the-black-brigade-part-1/
Part 2: http://ftr.wot-news.com/2014/09/09/the-black-brigade-part-2/
Part 3: http://ftr.wot-news.com/2014/09/10/the-black-brigade-part-3/

Continuing from part 3…

During the entire year 1943, the division continued training. It also changed its structure to a new type (proven by combat), made to resemble the one of a British armored division. The division consisted in turn of an armored brigade, a motorized lorry-mobile brigade, an artillery brigade and auxilliary division units to secure the chain of supplies. A deadline to make the division combat-ready was set on May 1944. When May came, the newly ready 1st Armored Division took part, along with other units, in last series of military excercises and it was decided to deply the unit during the second stage of the Normandy landings.

2nd Lieutenant battledress, 1st Armored Division

At that point, the 1st Armored Division consisted of following units:

- 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade (HQ units, three tank batallions, one motorized batallion)
- 3rd Rifle Brigade (three infantry batallions)
- one motorized recon regiment
- four artillery regiments
- engineering company
- supply transport detachment
- brigade tank repair shops
- four light repair shops
- reserve tank companies
- field post office, light field ambulance service
- military police detachment
- disciplinary platoon, court martial, prosecution

In total, it was 855 officers, 15210 soldiers, 381 tanks, 473 guns and mortars and 4500 armored cars, armored troop carriers and other motorized vehicles.

In July, the entire division was moved to Aldershot, where it awaited its transports to Normandy. By the end of the July, the division disembarked the transport ships in two Normandy ports – Arromanches and Corseulles, with Bayeux set as the unit’s rally point. It was made part of the II.Canadian Corps of the 1st Army, which in turn was assigned to the 21st Army Group of General Montgomery. The task the division was assigned with was an attack from the Caen area towards Falaise as a part of the Operation Totalise. In the night from 7.8. to 8.8., the unit moved to the initial attack position on the eastern outskirts of Caen. General Maczek wrote a special order before the battle. A part of it was addressed to the Polish soldiers:

New Burger King RU Tank Offer

Hello everyone,

Russian Burger King has apparently a new offer – or, rather, two. They are called the Medium Tankburger and Heavy Tankburger. And no, I am not joking.

tealtoper_650x433_preview

If you buy either the “Medium Tankburger” or the “Heavy” version, you will get a T-127 invite code and, furthermore, for the “Heavy” version, you get 3 days of premium account bonus code (the medium version has 300 gold bonus code).

With these offers, you’ll be “rolling out” in no time, just probably not the way the slogan was meant…

Hmm, I wonder why they don’t make such an offer on US server or in western Europe, should be more popular there.

“Czołg Pancernik” Strikes Back

Source: http://yuripasholok.livejournal.com/3563169.html

Hello everyone,

according to Yuri Pasholok, Wargaming is actually making a 3D render model of the crazy tank, proposed by Stanislaw Lem. This render is intended for the new Wargaming book (apparently about crazy Soviet designs) called “Steel Monsters of Soviet Union”, as Lem submitted the “design” to the Soviets. The model was made using proposed and existing Soviet heavy tank technology from 1944-1947. The render is extremely preliminary.

Please note, that this is not an “ingame vehicle render”…. yet. It’s theoretically possible for this vehicle to appear as Polish tier 10 heavy tank (no, I am not joking). According to Yuri Pasholok, the gun and armor are sufficient, although the miniturrets (“boobs”) are a problem. The gun is 155mm in case you wondered.

In any case, yes, for those who still have doubts – Polish branch is under consideration. It’s a problematic concept for the future (there is a significant gap on tier 8-9 – very late 2015, but more likely 2016). Should be fun :)

Straight Outta Supertest: StuG IV (pics, comparison)

Source: VK Wotleaks community

Hello everyone,

I am back with a couple more pictures of StuG IV. The vehicle description reads:

“Based on the proposal of Ministry of Arms, in February 1942, Krupp design bureau started testing the installation of reworked StuG III superstructure on the new chassis of Panzer IV Ausf.H and J. First vehicles were mass-produced in December 1943, by January 1944 Krupp completely switched to their production from the Panzer IV. In total, 1108 vehicles were built, 31 more were made by converting existing tanks.”
