Overlord on national battles:

Vehicle balance has never been tailored to cater for national battles (same nation teams), so we might get some unexpected results which will require changing/fixing. This applies to particular vehicles and particular nation vs nation opposition.

The developers are working on a different approach for clans but first we will get improvements on how the system works, which means better stability less technical problems. Currently we do no plan to increase the size of EU CW map.

On creating historically accurate tanks (author – Deception_WG)

Yes, we are in contact with many museums in the world, such as Bovington (England), Saumur (France), Munster (Germany) and many others especially in Russia of course. Then when we have the correct dimensions, plans and blueprints from them, the are taking the data to make the models and then re-checked by our historical experts to be as accurate as possible.

  1. Well, its good to see that WG at least has some intention on bringing Chinese tanks into Nation vs Nation battles [as implied by the future introduction of TD's and SPG's]…. regardless of how far off in the future this may actually be.

    Does it means that t-54 with 120mm armor will get correct weight? Checking wiki I saw that t-54 weights 34tons while Type 59 which has 100mm armor weights 36 tons. I smell somekind of russian bs in that.

    • Chinese crew are fatasses and that’s where you get the extra weight. Russian crews are stronk men with 1.5m height who don’t eat food. Vodka provides them all the necessary resources to live.

        • Yup, combined crew weights, thats got to be why t54 is 2 tons lighter. No fatasses inside. I bet there was a sign on russian tanks: “if you weight more than 500kg you cant drive a tank” – clueless chinese (who are known to be huge fat fucks on their rice diet) didnt have this sign and voila, 2 tons gained in crew compartment. Thats gotta be it.

      • Hmm, as the change promotes “shoot and scoot” (which isn’t bad by itself) I don’t see how that really changes gameplay for the “big russians” with their 750 dmg guns… If you can oneshot a lot of opponent’s you don’t really need to care if the dead guy can see you or you can relocate immedeately after shooting. On the other hand if I need at least five(7,5cm) or three(8,8cm) shots and 15+seconds of standing still for 750dmg in a JP IV I see how big that nerv really is.

        Don’t get me wrong, I am supporting more mobility and less “real” camping. (waiting in a bush staying invisble vs. sniping from third row into ongoing engagements. The latter is much more fun anyways). But then I feel especially in the medium Tiers (5-8) some TD trees are much more hampered by these changes then others. All in all an “all class” alpha, dpm, hp ‘rebalance’ could really tilt the scales towards more mobility again (because it allows players to take a calculated risk or make some small mistakes)… As I see it these changes only lead to more camping high Alpha TDs on the battlefield and even less incentive to be mobile, thanks to the increased one-shot risk.

    • keep your engagement beyond 445 meters and JPE will be invisible. 0.35 accuracy is plenty for sniping.

    This guy really does talk such bullshit. If the game is for people who only have time for short game sessions, why do they keep putting missions, rewards etc to encourage players to play for long periods?

    • Because after few years of playing and some tens of thousands batlles it will get somewhat boring, stereotypical and they do not want to lose players, so they try to motivate them anyway they find appropriate.

    • It’s clear WG made WOT for kids and never intended it for adults, because
      1. They kept answering childish questions and disregard any useful suggestions from large portion of player community.
      2 They kept answering childish questions with even more childish answers hoping no one will ask them those questions any more. Very lovely tactic indeed.
      3. They don’t respect their customers, especially those who have played for longer and have paid WG money. We are all cash cow for WG.
      4. If this is a game for adults, why is WG constantly complaining about childish whining? We adults especially those “successful” ones who only play WOT as a small part of our daily entertainment really don’t give a shit about which tank WG nerf or buff.

      Personally, I played this game while I was a kid at school, now I’m out of school and making money on my own, yet I find nothing in this game attracts me to play any more. Better way to say this is, Playing this game makes me felt like a lower grade human being. I don’t intend to offend any player with my comment, this is just my personal reflection about this game after stop playing it after almost 10k games

      • I feel exactly the same way, 9mm. This game is absolute garbage, and a massive money grab at every turn, and it deserves to fail, and WG deserves to feel pain, and they will, in time. WoT will not be the only tank game forever, and there will be other games coming out that will greatly overshadow it (Star Citizen, Planetary Annihilation, etc).

    I’ve had this happen. It occurs if you view a battle result exactly as you load into a match. You get a weird “Cannot display results” window.

    Well I did, and now i cant play 2 battles without having a headache, bad change imo.

    • I play with an eyefinity setup … guess what, all I can see on the test server, is the tank!

      What a stupid decision to change that!

    Just happened for me today.
    I played in test server today. Took Object 263 to battle.
    Well, first national battle. Westfield. My team had 2-3 IS-7s, same amount of IS-4s, several T-62As, Obj 140s and Obj 430s, few Obj 268s, me and 2 Obj 261s.
    What where against us? 13 FV 183s. 2 Conqueror GCs.
    Guess what. We lose. Great.
    Even better was when i took my 50b on battle, Winter Himmelsdorf (didnt know that its in 8.11 ALREADY)
    Frenchies VS. Russkies. 70% of my team Bats, 2 bat arties and few foches and 50b.
    Enemy Russkies got raped pretty fastly. We won. Great.
    This is indeed retarded battle mode, and there is 85% chance that i disable it on normal server.

    So far i know something about Chinese TDs (thanks for the post from long time ago)
    but i know almost nothing about Chinese arties. What arties they could have?
    So far i heard about Wolverine with 105mm was actually Chinese artillery vehicle.

        • If the game is made for a mature audience, why do we get nerfs to suit children? The game is on a path towards a sick joke of skinned clones with no real advantages or disadvantages to love or hate them for…to make them unique and give an individual sense of achievement for mastering each tank.

          Can you please nerf the AMX40 armour, buff the gun to perform like a russian 57mm, and boost the engine HP by 33% Tada, another vanilla boring shitbox with superficial identity for the kiddies to enjoy.

          If I could subscribe to a server that only allowed credit card holding players to access I would join it. You just have to allow easy purchases of premium ammo and most kids that do end up there would not be there for long.

          I long for the WoT Of 8.5.

          • You know, it is hard to make everything unique when there are often around 10 vehicles of same class on each tier … take tier 8 mediums: Type59, T34-2, T34-3, Obj416, T44, M26, T26E4, T69, Centurion I, Panter II, IndPz, Japan something; you got 12 vehicles, now balance them out with basicaly these 3 parameters: armor, firepower, mobility. You can alter them, combine them, but overall there are not that many possibilities since they must more or less fall in medium class and tier 8 overall strength and must perform about the same to be balanced against each another.

            You and the rest of wallet warriors go to your own server where you can spam gold in your bushwanking premium TDs all day long and normal players can finally enjoy the game. Deal?

      Seriously, E-25 deserves to stay rather hard to spot after-shot with that small gun. Without the feature how do we play it? Suicide scout like an A-20, while your opponents are more experenced and accurate? So every time you end up in a tier 8 battle, your team automatically loses a tier 7 TD? Or anybody telling me that he likes to shoot(once)-and-scoot with that 75mm on a tier 7 TD?

      before World of Tanks they made the Massive Assault series and Order of War (iirc). They started out as a strategy game company, specifically turn-based strategy. World of Tanks was just their first “big hit” after the prior games were “Popular but not huge.”

I wish they would do something about match making that takes into accout not overall efficiency but players’ efficiency on every single tank… MM just sucks, it doesnt take into account player level, crew levels, if the tank is stock or not, equipment… and it is not a rocket science to implement it to MM.

    I see so many battles where for example – in tier 8 battle – top tier tanks are noobs that bought premium tanks and have no idea how to play them… They drive into the middle of the map and think they are invicible o_O
    It would be ok if other team had the same situation, but usualli it is not – they are not (according to xvm stats).

    Or in lower tier games you see very good players in their maxed up T18s killing everybody… New guys to the game have no chance to learn the game because they die all the time, and because they can’t learn on lower tiers the go up and up and still suck… or just play as AFK to go a tier higher.

    Some people don’t care about their stats – but I do – and after loosing 5-10 games in a row, where I try to do my best and the team dies like flies, I don’t feel like playing this game anymore… :/

    That such bullshit. The ARMA series is a massive sandbox that is played mainly by adults.
    Also, short game sessions lead to more casual players joining.

    Also on the holidays WoTs is a nightmare on school holidays because of school kids playing. I don’t mind kids playing as long as they have a slight idea of the game.

    I have to wonder how many idiots tried to claim that it had the 88 mm gun? It’s those idiots that are likely the reason why they’re so reluctant to add it, even though it’s the only real candidate for a tier 5 premium Heavy on the German tree (because WG for some reason decided to make all of the other candidates into regular vehicles, and they all sucked).
