    • No… go away. It needs to be there to combat the waffle.
      Take the time to read the T58 thread in Na’s Suggestions Forum with all the specs and you’ll see why it could be made viable. (a 2nd prototype was built with unknown changes… allowing WG to ‘balance’ the autoloader to a 3-shot instead of the crazy 6-shot the first prototype carried in their creative little ‘we made this shit up’ sort-of way)

      Getting kinda tired of WG denying tanks people want in the game…. this as a tier 10 TD to combat the Foch and Waffle … the Object 279 as a new tier 10 option because they’re too lazy to measure it at Kubinka… the MBT-70 because they think they can’t balance the derp gun on the mild-steel hulled prototype, or the 120 rheinmetall gun since it’s a *gasp* smoothbore – especially since they could just use the Conqueror’s 120mm in their typical “we made this shit up” sort-of way.

      Still waiting on Sturmtigers and AMX-30′s … seems like a Vaporware dream at this point.

      • Of course they will put the AMX-30. No including the AMX-30 when they included the Leopard would have been like not including the Centurion. It is silly-nuggets.

        But the French and British are the poor childs of WoT anyway.

        And as for the Sturmtiger, it has been in development for a long ass time, and there I can understand why they didn’t implement the 300mm mortar spewing thing that is so hard to implement that we don’t even know if it will be TD or SPG.

          • As the author of the most current T58 implementation suggestion thread, i came up with an extremely sensible way to put the T58 into the game without breaking WoT entirely.

            Pretty much the TL;DR version is cutting down the 6-round historical magazine to a 3-round (because WG never messes with historical figures for game balance reasons!) and because i think this number of rounds would be extremely acceptable given the Foch 155′s 3-round 155mm cannon as well. Also a nerfing of soft stats would be in order as well, including accuracy, aim time, and ground resistance. This would balance out the fact that it has a 155mm gun IN a turret. Also, you have to realize that the T58 has 127mm of armor…hull AND turret…and at not incredibly amazing angling….in a tier ten game, that’s like tissue paper. Where as the Foch has the armor to back itself up, the T58 does not. Really, the only advantage it has over the Foch is its turret.

            If you would take a second to look at the thread, or even think it over for more then a split nano-second….you would see that the T58 could be implemented successfully into the game, quite easily. Heck, they already have the model made for it anyways.

        Objekt 279′s entire hull save for the rear would be autobounce, not to mention the turret, which would make it nigh-impossible for most heavy tanks to counter (medium tanks might have a chance, but it’s unlikely). I also remember them saying something about the gun being too good, but I’m not sure.

        MBT-70′s too advanced for the game. Hell, in some ways it was more advanced than even the modern MBTs that are its successors: the M1 Abrams and Leopard 2. They also explicitly said many times that no smoothbore guns will be in the game (do you REALLY want the T-62A to become even MORE broken compared to the other tier 10 mediums than it already is at times by adding the smoothbore gun to it?)

        Point taken regarding “We made this shit up”, since several tanks in the game are made up:

        Waffentraeger E-100: most obvious example

        T25/2: created because they had already made the “Super Hellcat” a configuration of the M18 Hellcat a tier lower, so they needed something else in the tier 7 turreted TD slot.

        T28 Prototype: created because they needed a tier 8 turreted TD and didn’t find anything suitable at the time. Doesn’t help that the T28 and T95 are technically the same vehicle, the T95 merely referring to its changed designation after receiving the double-wide tracks.

        KV-4: while the tank itself is a real designation, there were over 20 proposed designs for the KV-4 (as seen here: http://ftr.wot-news.com/2013/09/26/kv-4-design-proposals/ ), none of which are the one in the game. They basically took the best features from the best designs, buffed the hell out of the armor, and called it the KV-4.

        T-50-2: removed a while back and based on a prototype tank that was built, but had a different name, and nowhere NEAR the level of performance that the T-50-2 had.

        There’s also the example of the 57 mm 413 gun on the KV-1, which in fact never existed at all. It’s just a renamed ZiS-4, the sole purpose of which being to prolong the already long grind of eliting the KV-1 (you have to unlock three different tanks on it in order to “elite” it).

      • About WG way of fuck up thing. Apparently AMX 13 had two magazines with 6 rounds loaded. You could switch the magazine from which you wanted the shot to be loaded. So you could load AP-AP-HE-AP-HE-HE or whatever the second magazine would have APCR or HEAT.

        US autoloaders had 8-12 round magazines. But balancewise it would be also fucked up. This silly fantasy game with tanks being best of the game no matter that those never existed or had such problems that never entered production.

        Wonder why T57 is such great in pixels but never made in to production.. WOT is such bullshit with flavor of the month power creep.

    • Currently there is no customization/variance in hulls while turrets, guns, suspensions cover a number of different versions/setups that actually were used in real life (like the StuG, it covers 7+ varients)

      Optional Hulls gives players the ability to use the hulls that existed but aren’t in the game currently. Some of these will be cosmetic only but some will offer tradeoffs. T-54 optional hull will trade off +armor for -mobility.

      • I am all for customization. If anything, WoT needs 10x more of it. But as hulls, they better be purely just looks. If their armor changes, slope and etc, and one day I go and shoot a a tank in its LFP, than the next day patch drops with changeable hulls, and now that guranteed hit is now a bounce due to a stupid optional hull change that changes nothing on the tank expect its appearance.

        Hulls are cool, but they need to be PURE cosmetic, and offer ZERO angle or armor or slop change, even when changing hulls. The tank armor and HP should stay as a standard.

        Now, do I also think optional hulls are useless? Yes. There is about a dozen different ways of adding customization to the game. Add sandbags onto tanks like promised that fall off when hit. Add more paint scheme, hell make em up, good chunk of tanks are made up, go make up some camo WG. Pretend your painting your russian whore wife. Add in option for more decals, or even custom decals. (Not like WT where u can paint a whole plane pink with decals, thats just gay).

        I find the hulls cool, but also like a huge head scratchier. There is a TON of things WG could of done for customization, before going all out on hulls that can be game changing.

        • well, some of the ‘hull options’ changed the armor shape and thickness quite considerably IRL, so you would be very sad ;) they are not customization, they should be (as well as turrets) alternatives ;)

        • I felt exactly the same way and facepalmed myself the first time I’ve read about it.
          I’m fine with that skill reducing the penalty as it also boosts normal view range and I took it on few tanks for the max view range boost but damn … all these repair kits that could have been saved. Lol.

          • Never used repair kits on vision devices, but I’ve used a med kit to save a radioman on my T-28 once so our arty could see enemy AT-2. But the effectivity of low tier arty nowadays is… I ran across half of the map to finish the AT-2 myself in the end.

        • Kauris has it exactly right.

          When you only have the basic suspension you will only have the regular hull that everyone currently has now. When you research the suspension you will also unlock any optional hulls available on the tank.

          WG is doing this so that they do not change the amount of XP required to research the modules on each tank/tree

        • That would mean that upg hull should always be better. But as much as i understand they are not. Its more like either better mobility or better armor.

    That doesn’t sound like a bad idea actually, not a gong maybe, but some kind of sound? Or a change of pace in the music? It could be at the minute thirty mark for Standard Battles and a different point for encounters.

    • Or download a mod that gives the warning. I have one that warns at 5m, 3m, 1m, 30s and countdowns the last 10 secs.

      • Eventually Wargaming implements the best features from mods (I have had tank names on the minimap for over a year now). But who wants to wait that long when you can get it now.

      • You don’t want to have that mod for yourself but for all hose noobs and tomatos, who don’t get that Assault Offense is only 10 minutes long and they use all that time for camping the hill on Sand River :(

      • Then flag them internaly as bot and let them bots fight against each other in special bot only matches! Now that i think of it it could realy work, they will never suspect that they are only fighting other bots^^

        • I’d say just resetting the accounts (and keeping them under watch) would be the best way to fight them. If you delete the account you the botter will just go to another account and start again and you’ll have no way of knowing where they went. If you put them in their own matches aren’t you just encouraging them to keep botting? It would make it easier for the better bot programs to win. Hell it would be a great exploit: Get flagged as a bot, have account reset, then start SMASHING bots as the only real player in the bot matches. You could easily get 10kills a match and only have to watch out for the bots that can aim for weakspots.

          • Sure you could try to exploit it, but playing against bots only would be pretty boring, so you think twice if getting your T10 tank that way was worth it.
            But you are right to many ways of exploiting it, like platooning with not botting players etc.
            But how about reducing the xp and credits gain from botters, so they lose credits even in T1 games until they are bankrupt?

            • Then they’d definitely switch to another account. By resetting the account there is the possibility that players will just start over and stay on the already flagged account.

              • Yeah thats realy a problem of f2p games, you just create a new one in seconds.
                But maybe they could implement a license file system wich is bound to hardware id’s(like from your windows drive or so) and then block them, you can still get around that but you just have to make it so hard that most botters would not want to do the work to create a new account.

        Most autoloaters get half of their historical magazine capacity. So T58 would get a 3 round magazine. That would be barely enough to 1-clip most tier 10s. Unlike the WTF100 that can easily 1-clip the highest-health vehicle in the game. Even with shit damage rolls.

        Just sayin’.

    Like it matters, just today I reinstalled WoWP again after a year to see if there were any positive changes aside from more planes.

    Result:
    I got 3 kills in a stock tier I plane that handled like a flying brick with garbage bins as wings.
    And I am not good with planes, I consider my tanking abilities to be average and my flying abilities as … “meh”.
    I still got enough exp and credits to leave the tier I behind after one battle… and after that I doubt ‘newbies’ will only get battles with other ‘newbies’, the population is way too low for that, unless the MM wants to make up 3vs3 matches again like a year ago when I tried WoWP the last time…

    I still hope WG somehow manages a 180° turn with WoWP and makes it a real competitor to WT.
    Competition keeps the market alive and is the best protection a customer has against lazy/greedy developers.

    Hope dies last…

    • WG is not good at planes sim, seems pretty obvious, while Gaijin has continuously done that since the first coming of Christ. I’m neither surprised not saddened.

    • Already tired of issues for OBT still not resolved and no real hope on wowp unless they do huge patches to stabilize it. Otherwise I will stick around with Wows rather than facing stat padders and seal scrubbers in Wowp everytime.

    • Probably you play several companies with your friends late at night or when there are not many of them, and when you get thrown against your friends, one of your teammates kills everyone around and gets a shitload of credits and exp.

    —- I think different hulls should get different amount of HitPoints because one hull with more armor having the same HP as an hull with less armor doens’t make sense
    it’s also needed to balance the tank to fit in it’s tier
    for exemple the current M4 Sherman if it get’s the hull from the M4A3 variant then it will get a better armorbecause it’s better sloped and because of that the amount of HP should be changed so that the Sherman doesn’t get stronger on tier 5

    —- I really would like to play with this tank but even if they don’t add this one there are others less known projects that also could be interesting tanks for the US tech tree
    they could for example switch the T58 heavy with the completely made up T110E4 as the US turreted TD Tier 10
    they did the same with the T30 wich was never intended to be a TD
    what they could do with the T58 is give it TD HP and some other TD soft stats to balance it, that way it wouldn’t be OP because like the other US tanks the T58 as his weakpoints (like side armor and turret ring, similar to T57) and we can’t forget that WG as already added 2 other 150-155mm autoloader tanks, the AMX 50 Foch 155 and WT E-100

    they just don’t add the T58 because they are stubborn in not droping their “little son” (T110E4)

    • There are other ways to balance the optional hulls other than HP. The Hull with better armor would be heavier (more steel) and would thus have a lower power to weight ratio, and thus a lower acceleration and top speed. So you trade durability for mobility.

      T58 HT would be like the IS-7 in how heavily nerfed it would have to be to fit in the game. Unlike the WT100 the T30 hull is far more mobile so pairing it with a huge gun, good armour, a 6 round drum, and the ability to hull down would be significantly OP. (I’d love to see a project that was an improvement to the T30 design and an actual tank, but it would be a difficult fit to say the least. We can only hope that WG can find a real project that fits to replace the E4)

        SilentStalker already made an article about that and if you look for it you can see wich tank he proposed, he also proposed other changes to the 2 TD lines
        I just gave the example of making the T58 the Tier 10 tureted TD because there’s a lot of people (myself included) asking to have it added to the game and I thought doing the same they did with the T30 would be the quickest way to solve those 2 issues

        – making the T58 less OP

        we can also argue with the fact that those american 155mm guns were supposed to “fight” strong deffensive positions and during tests they proved to be excellent at destroying bunkers, that could make both the T30 and T58 “assault guns” like other TD’s already in the game

    Unless WOWP performs significant balance patch, population is declining since OBT.

    Let us hope WOWS releases beta anytime soon so I can get the hell out of shitty WOWP.

    Personally I see an upside to them taking this approach, as simply resetting them is essentially rendering all of their grinding via bots pointless; basically, it’s a form of counter-trolling, since a botter with a reset account now has two choices:

    1) Start all over from scratch without botting, defeating the purpose of having a bot in the first place.

    2) Reroll a new account, which in this context could be considered rage-quitting, which means that the trolls (read: WG developers) win.

    Or maybe I’m just overthinking things. What do you guys think?

    • Sounds right to me.

      Best thing is that if they keep using that account WG already knows they’ve botted and can easily check periodically for repeat offenders.

      If you completely destroy the account the botters either have to quit or roll a new account, in which case WG has no idea what new account they are on, and they are free to try botting again.

    • Ultimately this encourages playing more tier 10, as you are likely to have more tier 8 and 9s to beat up on in your games now.

      • And it also encourages morons to drive their t10 tanks eventhough they are shit even at playing t2 tonks making the game even more unplayable on high tiers.

  20. Every time I read another post about WG, I got to think how stupid they are…..

    So I got a friend on the EU servers that is poor because he’s a student. His current hobby is running about 5 to 10 bots in a university lab that grind up to tier 10 then he sells those accounts to mainly UK buyers.

    You can thank WG for giving him tons of resets early on to allow him to figure out what the baseline for not getting caught was on a single account. Since most people that don’t know about bots is that the botter needs to buy gold on the account, WG won’t ban those outright… too worried about a charge-back.

    I had to laugh when I heard that in the last 6 months, he was able to grind 38 accounts and sell them all for some pocket money for himself.

    Good job WG I wonder what a student pursuing an IT field is capable of…. maybe up to 1000 bots at the same time ….

      • Sad part is he’s not IT smart and he’s able to do this with stupid ease.

        I can’t blame him it’s stupid easy and chance of getting banned is next door to nothing.

        Wish they would ban the botters but we know they won’t.

    Why not rebalance chinese to match soviet ones? That’s right. Because chinese have 181 pen and 250 dmg. And we all know how soviets copied tonks from chinese and not vice versa therefore chinese values are historically accurate.
