Having trouble with graphic settings? Check out Wargaming English guide to graphics (it’s a damn shame this post is so hidden most people would never find it).

For everyone, who missed the whole hotfix mumbo jumbo, I am once again repeating:

- the hotfix enabled the bugged multicore support again. If you have FPS issues after the hotfix, try disabling the core spread option by downloading this file and copying it over the original in World of Tanks folder.
- if you have microlag and FPS issues, be sure to disable triple buffering and Vsync – here’s how. But beware – ANY setting tampering after that will turn it back on, so you have to disable it once again.

And now to QA:

- the amount of artillery on tier 8-10 is stabilized and quite satisfactory
- revamp of light tanks is planned
- autoaim gun direction is calculated on the server
- visibility check points on the tank are defined as such: one is in the front, two on the sides, one on the back, one is the point where the gun is attached to the turret and one is the highest point of the turret
- automatic download of the entire client (which some players experienced with the 9.0.1 hotfix) is caused by the game determining that the client is compromised (SS: this can be triggered by mods, but also by removing some parts of the client)

Storm explains the mess around the “EnableCPU” multicore load spread parameter (profanities intended, translated from original):

“It’s a really fucked parameter (as in, it was fucked to death already). There are some PC configurations, where enabling it makes the game impossible to play (starting with server disconnects). We fixed almost all these cases before patch release. But not all. After that, we found a few more configurations, where this can happen. Right now, we are investigating it. For them, we will disable this parameter.

As for those, for whom this parameter helps to improve game performance and to reduce lags, we haven’t found a single configuration for now, where disabling it really helps. We have reports on this topic, we have dxdiag and so on, we take the configuration, we build it here completely, we check – and the changes are within margin of error. We checked already several dozens of variants. We haven’t found shit yet. We continue to look and attempt to reproduce the reported situations.

To disable it for all is not possible, because for a lot of people it increases performance.”

- the effects of the turret being ripped off by ammo rack explosion were simplified a bit, they ate too many resources
- SLI will be fixed “at some point”
- AMD Dual Graphics is not supported by WoT
- developers are internally investigating the effect of triple buffering
- Storm won’t disclose what SerB is doing right now (SS: no idea, but SerB has been travelling to Cyprus a lot lately)
- developers now have enough feedback, they are investigating everything (SS: some player reported a lot of microlags on Serene Coast)
- some players report that the game lags when they fire a gun, Storm states that they can’t confirm or replicate the bug
- Storm states that the patch 9.0 came out bugged, because noone really changed the release plan
- regarding delaying the patches for better testing and bug fixing, Storm states that once per 1,5 month is already a “medium” tempo, when comparing to other games, he adds that “it’s not always possible not to rush patch release” (SS: my guess? Producer part of Wargaming is stepping on developer necks to make them keep the tempo, regardless of patch quality)

  1. - AMD Dual Graphics is not supported by WoT

This does not affect me… but why? What logical reason is there? GG WG…

Anyway… only a few hours till the new STALKER is here :)

  2. - Storm states that the patch 9.0 came out bugged, because noone really changed the release plan

soooo it was known that was bugged from the get go and they are many numbers of bugs still not fixed by the hotfix which came today why rushed it?

the most logical thing was to delay the release of the 9.0 and work out the bugs ???

but o well what i am trying to make sence of?
    this is WG

      • “A product is late for a little while, but a product will suck forever.” – Gaben

But let’s be honest, I’m not saying WG can, or ever will meet Valves quality, but this shit is really outrageously awful for a large number of people who can barely play.

      • i kinda know how it is (not that big expierience on F2P and stuff yet with patches and how it all works ) but i mean come on bugs on the core of the game stuff making it unplayable is overridiculous

  3. “- visibility check points on the tank are defined as such: one is in the front, two on the sides, one on the back, one is the point where the gun is attached to the turret and one is the highest point of the turret”
i always knew WG are full of incompetent turds but this is the top… u have a square and to check visibility u put the checkpoints on the sides instead of the corners… OMG RETARDS

    • That’s because not all tanks are squares.
Also, you are free to apply for a job there, as you’re obviously so experienced in game design that you have the right to call them retards.
      Sod off.

      • Exactly which tanks are not square (ok rectangular)? Viewed top down, corner to corner? The spotting point being in the middle front is abused so much. Yes, it’s not an exploit as it’s working as intended. The intention is crap though and needs to be fixed.

        • What kind of advantage does poking your track out give you?? The turret remains in the same spot. Stop looking for such minor things to complain about, go outside and enjoy life for a while, it should cheer you up you heartless grumpy cunt.

    • I wouldn’t go so far as retards, but it is a pretty big fail IMO. Question is, this is OOOOOLD news, why is it coming up now? We’ve had it on the Wiki for years, literally.

That said, so much rage would be solved by moving the spots to the corners from the middle of the sides. How many times has a tank rolled out with it’s tracks obscuring the middle front spotting point? So it’s invisible until the middle side shows, or the gun/turret? Put them on the damn corners.

      • “How many times has a tank rolled out with it’s tracks obscuring the middle front spotting point?”

Never, because tanks do not act as spotting obstructions.

    • Man, who do you talk about if saying “incompetent turds”? Corners? It would mean that while now you can be hidden behind a rock (unspotted), you solution offers getting spotted even without seeing the tank because spotting point is actually away from the tank itselft.

You solution is truly genial and it is exactily what we all miss in WoT – spotting area multiple the size of the tank. Thanks WG for being full of incompetent turds, if WoT was programmed by professionals” it would look like this.

  4. I have a feeling that this game is so screwed that the best thing would be to remade it from scratch (althou this is impossible). This game is such a mess that WG doesent even know where and how to start fixing it.

    • Drama Queen much?
What dissapoints you THAT much in the game?
If its technical, well… look at Battlefield 4 and Ghosts… that there is/was much worse of a situation.

    • Yeah dude stop paddling the bandwagon, my game works perfectly and it’s been constantly improving. Sure it doesn’t work on every system, but I’m sure if WG stopped trying to make WoT work in calculators and make the minimum requirements equal to those of BF4, it would be amazing. But since some people still run virus-ridden XPs and expect the game to work, we’ll never have that,

      • I’m sure it does not work perfectly but hey if your ok with your level of performance, great for you. Those of us that can show over and over that something does not work will state our issues so it gets fixed. Fact is WG sent out a release they knew was bugged. Storm stated it, so saying its works prefect for you flies in the fact of reality.

        /thread

        • You’re kind of right. But WoT has a lot larger system diversity, so fails on some systems are to be expected. Unlike BF4 tho, it was supposed to be an AAA game with win7 and shit as minimal requirements, that ought to have worked. And it didn’t.

    • Quite accurate. The devs alone aren’t to blame, it’s a delicate balance between income, available resources and time. Right now this balance is off in WG, but not by much and it can still be (and hopefully will be) restored.

  5. - AMD Dual Graphics is not supported by WoT

Seeing that all the top end graphics cards from both brands are dual cards not supporting one of them just seems crazy to me.

  6. they still don’t recognize the camera/turret freeze issue? This bug is as game breaking as the crash to desktop issue!!

  7. “Improved graphics use GPU significantly more than CPU.” Bullshit!
    I am running a R9 290 and i cant even get it to stay at 50 FPS…
It just how poorly coded this game is + the engine is at the maximum.
Its like they made the game at first to run 30 FPS and no more, WTF is this a console?

  8. all i read is “we became money greed faggots who don’t give a single fuck about patches or bugs. We just want your cash”

    • Not hate. Frustration at a company’s product that many of us have invested money in only to have a known bugged release dumped on us. If you ran your company that way would you expect anything less from your customers? Yes, customers. That is what we are.

And we do have a choice. Don’t forget it’s those that pay to play that make the game free for those that don’t. When playing players like me leave, those left won’t have shit.

    • hate???no….
fraushtraiting from the trying to push out a tromendous buged patch and made the game unplayable??yes…..
we had the mirco-lags/freezes whatever they come from and now the FPS are commiting suicide by there coding process in this patch

  9. quote: “Storm won’t disclose what SerB is doing right now (SS: no idea, but SerB has been travelling to Cyprus a lot lately)”

wanna bet he’s moving the company from Belarus to Cyprus?!
fiscal paradise, bet U’r ass he’ll do it

    • Not to mention I’m betting my ass off that he’s tasted the scent of capitalism long enough to no longer want to be in a country that is basically an appendix to Russia. Given the current political crisis, I would not be surprised.

      • I don’t think it’s about the capitalism, I think it’s because Putin’s eventually gonna say: “much like Crimea, the people of Belarus need our help in joining Russia!”, invade Belarus and claim they’re starting a war.
        Fuck Putin.

  10. With all that money they could find a few Neos who could fix this damn bugs and optimise the damn engine.
Why did 8.9 work fine for me ?

Its like they threw a shit on a plate and decorated it and than served it. It still tastes like shit.

Roll back to patch 8.9 and fix thouse bugs, than release the patch 9.0–> profit

    • How do you know they have money? You know all their profit doesn’t just accumulate in some big pile. It’s used to pay the employees (and there’s a lot of those), pay for projects etc… the devs actually get like 1/4th of thr money. Maybe.

      • from what was reported, they large income but small margin of profit, who know’s they could be near bankruptcy

  11. Help guys, a friend just got wpt and his graphics has red textures all around saying texture not found. Whqt to do guys???

    • He likely messed with some textures or is running some mods. Remove the mods first. If it still exists do a clean install and then defrag and then optimize your game settings for the FPS you want.

  12. - the amount of artillery on tier 8-10 is stabilized and quite satisfactory

So the extreme amounts of cancer at high tiers is what they call stable?

  13. Stupid WG can’t make a thing without bugs. Hey damn it, we’re in 2014. Each patch should be an improvement and not more errors.

  14. they are too greedy. game gets worse and worse. i don’t give them another single cent …

  15. Since the hotfix the game is unplayable for me… Before I got around 10 fps and now it dropped to 5 fps with all setting as low as possible and 3d render on 50%. 10 fps was perfectly playable for me with 60-day unicum stats, I wonder how people like Jingles can do that bad with that kind of rig. Anyway great job WG

  16. - visibility check points on the tank are defined as such: one is in the front, two on the sides, one on the back, one is the point where the gun is attached to the turret and one is the highest point of the turret

OMG SS you stil f*ck this up???? Please!!!!

and at the same root: Visibility_checkpoints.png

    - Storm won’t disclose what SerB is doing right now (SS: no idea, but SerB has been travelling to Cyprus a lot lately)

He swims in the money they have there. Scrooge McDuck style.

    - developers are internally investigating the effect of triple buffering

Pffffff… No comment on that. :D

    - Storm states that the patch 9.0 came out bugged, because noone really changed the release plan

So who can be blamed for it? :)

    - regarding delaying the patches for better testing and bug fixing, Storm states that once per 1,5 month is already a “medium” tempo, when comparing to other games, he adds that “it’s not always possible not to rush patch release”

So the producers are morons that think the gamers won’t quit after shitty releases? Nice!

  17. Hooray for lag…today was the first time I’ve had a chance to play in a week, and the lag is far worse than normal on the NA servers for me. I went from 80-100ping and 20-30fps to 500+ ping and 5-10fps after the minipatch. Yep, working as intended :(

  18. - Storm won’t disclose what SerB is doing right now (SS: no idea, but SerB has been travelling to Cyprus a lot lately)

.. i bet SerB has to watch on after the progress of his Residence in Cyprus, on a regular basis ^^
