Hello everyone,

since WG Gamescom stream is much stronk this year, we were not able to watch the communication between players and developers. At least WG did put up a summary of the developer answers on the portal. I am adding it here for the sake of completeness, because – as you can imagine – the answers are pretty useless and there is nothing new in them. Oh well. Please note that some of the stuff is even wrong (for example “RU251 not this year” – it’s coming in 9.3)

tomasfolik: When will you have a multi-core CPU support in World of Tanks?

Multicore support is already partially introduced to the game. In fact, some of the game processes are already managed by the other cores. However, we have plans to extend it with the introduction of Havok effects.

attacked: Do you have plans to separate SD and HD clients in the future? If yes, when?

We had such plans in the beginning. However, we came up with a different solution to make sure that players can benefit from newly introduced HD models, and we are currently working on it.

lukys22: Do you have any news about Havok technology? When can we expect it?

We are still working on it. The challenge here is to make sure that a wide range of players can benefit from the new destruction effects. We hope to provide you with more information on the subject before the end of the year.

Ghurk: Do you have plans to add more ammunition types?

There are no such plans for the near future.

Lord_Talphon: What are your plans for maps which are unavailable at the moment, like Port or Dragon Ridge?

For the time being, Dragon Ridge is available in Team Training only. As for Port, there are currently no plans to reintroduce it to the game.

Ralf Bauer: When will the Sturmtiger be introduced to the game?

Not in the near future. We have some challenges with making it fun, balanced and truly playable. Once we are sure that the vehicle is fit for the game, we will be able to consider introducing it.

Jere My: Is there any chance that we will see more modern tanks like Leopard 2, M1 Abrams, ZSU Shilka or PzH2000?

This is not planned. The technological time frame we set for the game is early to mid-20th Century. The vehicles you mention are mostly modern era tanks.

mildmr: Is there any form of end game content planned for users who already reached most of the Tier X tanks?

Yes, we are currently working hard on the Strongholds game mode, which was released with version 9.2. We are hoping on improving it further as time goes by to make it even more fun for our players.

308: Will we see more Bundeswehr tanks like RU251 or Kanonenjagdpanzer?

It is quite possible. However, it certainly won’t happen this year.

EiKarrRamba (CCT): As the tanks are being reworked for HD, are there any plans to improve the graphics quality for the maps too?

We are always working on optimising the maps, as well as on improving their visual quality. Currently one of the bigger things we focus on is adding more ambient effects.

Sturmi_0545: Can you disclose how you’re going to handle the remaining European nations? Which ones are going to get their own Tech Trees and which ones will be combined into one?

We definitely want to introduce more tanks and nations to the game. In fact, there are a lot of vehicles out there that would fit one tech tree or another. We will provide more information on the subject once the concepts are in a more advanced stage.

Sturmi_0545: Are you going to add more and more tanks to the game, or are there certain limits that would make you stop adding more vehicles, even though there are still definite candidates, even historical ones that fit the game?

Yes, more tanks will be added. In fact, some new vehicles are even planned for version 9.3.

Phyrus: Will you introduce new inscriptions, emblems and historical camouflages for our tanks?

The game offers quite a lot of options to customize your vehicles already. However, it is quite possible that new camouflages, emblems and inscriptions will be added in the future.

aengis: How do you decide to remove a tank from the game? What factors do you take in account?

Deleting tanks from the game is something we do quite rarely. Our main efforts focus on balancing tanks in such way that they fit their function, are fun to play and do not provide players with significant advantages. Once a tank fails to reach these criteria, we start work to balance it.

Bougnas: Will you ever include “stress”, as in stress under fire, on the crew as a factor for accuracy and such?

There is a perk in the game already which touches on this factor. Every loader can learn the perk called Adrenaline Rush, which boosts the reload time when your tank’s HP drop below 10%.

clipsy3: There is a weather system on Xbox – will this system be added in game in the 9.3 or 9.4 updates, or sometime in the future?

We have already started work on the weather effects. Some of these are already introduced on maps such as Winter Himmelsdorf or Kharkov. Of course, we will keep on improving them and introducing new effects as time goes by.

DarkTchipeur: Where do you see World of Tanks a year from now?

We see it as being even more immersive and realistic, more clan friendly, with more game modes and high-end content.

Grzesio222yo102: Any plans for day/night modes?

We are thinking about such modes, but it’s not something we would consider introducing into the game in the near future.

widmoxxx: Will you add the possibility to test tanks or maps in training mode alone?

No, such a feature is not planned.

barbatine: When will we see an Italian branch?

It is possible that we will introduce Italian vehicles to the game in one way or another at some point. If and when this happens, it will definitely not be this year.

    I know this is a Russian game so we end up with city badges for quite a number of Russian cities (some of which I’ve never heard of) —– but how many of us are NOT Russian.

    I know of Scots and Welsh who would prefer to fight with the St.Andrews cross or red dragon on side of tank – I would prefer St.Georges cross for England.

    Now I’m no programmer, but is it that difficult to create additional national flags ?

    • yes because WG. even if you’re a programmer it will be the same. occationally we have to rightfully do the necessary evil that is Whine.

      • its not a programming issue, its a cost-benefit issue from WG perspective… is it worth the time to put such things in the game, test them, remove bugs etc etc versus something that gives instant payout? Plus, take into account their idea of a focus market (primarily/above all else Russian), and you get your answer.

      Around 55% – 60% of WoT’s fanbase are not from the CIS.

      Here I will answer for real:
      It is not. But it does require some research and some testing.
      More important would be creating seperate categories and sub categories so that these things do not clog up the select window :P.

      This game is BELARUSIAN. Look up on the internet if you never heard of this country. WG is based in Minsk and it’s not in Russia. I’m not from Russia or Belarus myself, but I’m from one of the neigbour states and it pisses me off when idiots think that Russia=Belarus. Go learn geogprahy for once retards.

  4. I hope they dont fuck up/soften Dragon Ridge. We need more “punishing” maps where it ‘punishes” bad players who arent paying attention to their surrounding (ppl like noobs and your typical Western Whiner Gang)

      • The rest of the map was used only by like 1% of the players, and it was only to go around and get back to where everyone else were, just from the different direction. Very rarely there were players using these areas and there was practically no combat there. Was it excellent, good, average or bad is irrelevant really.

    Ok, this is most likely a communication fail and/or is more focused on the Kanonenjagdpanzer, but it still appears weird to me.

    NVM guys First videos from WT destruction

    Video Series which should show us what happens when a bullet penetrats. What happens inside the tank?
    Probably postponed (something like 1 year ago the video was released)
    NVM guys WT is now working on a X-Ray Killcame to show you what was destroyed

    Being annoyed that in your Hangar the Armor value you see on the Right side is only for the thickest position. Once there was promised that we get a more detailed armor shematics in the hangar.
    NVM guys WT will introduce Armor Indicator in the Hangar.

    What about the multiturret mechanism?
    WT has allready introduced it. Just the tanks are missing.

    Srsly i dont know what wargaming is thinking at the moment. They are postponing everything. I dont want to fanboying Warthunder, but at the moment they do everything better then WG except for the tank gameplay.
    I hope that Warthunder is making Wargaming some competition so WG has to do something otherwise WT will probably take a big amount of the playerbase.

    • They better introduce them features pretty fast or the entire playerbase ceases to exist.

      Nope. We have a few months left in the year, and each patch takes roughly a month and a half to develop, test, and launch.

      So we have roughly enough time for 9.3 and 9.4 to launch. The most recent previous statement on Havok’s release was 9.4, which happens to fit at the “end of the year”

      It’s an affirmation, not a postponing

    • All of these features aren’t really necessary, so obviously, they aren’t high on the priority list to implement.
      I’d rather have WT work on their bugfixing instead of cosmetic features.

    • I think a “kill cam” in WoT showing internal damage is rather silly. It just doesn’t seem fitting at all, to the game.

  7. Havoc takes them time, but on the other side, ill rather wait for good implementation, than for “EA Quality”.
    Optimalization, … well, i5-4590 + R270x .. all maxed out, works well.

    What is sad, is arty … they said, that they will not remove, okay then, but still, some restrictions or something would be nice.. I can see 3-5 arti games more and more and moment this happens, battle is broken, everyone camps.

    • And because everyone starts to camp, arty has fun clicking tenks to death. If only you would move even more when there are arty. Arty isn’t a moving tank killer, it’s meant to kill steady targets, so just f-ing move and you will be alright.

    • Funny thing, unless the arty is FV304s, a constantly moving team will have a tough time being hit, as most arty players are, well, normal players. Many of them are rather bad at the time.

      The only truely dangerous arty, is a skilled player.

      Played a match yesterday, where it was a 5v4 arty count, and I used my arty (was on the 4 side) to counter and kill 3 of theirs. The only arty on their team that actually was dangerous, was the guy with blue stats (1.5k damage or something), the other one, a red player, managed 57 damage, in 15 shots.

    my reaction: oh come on ive been waiting for this options for months i have to wait for 5 hours to download the patches and that is the week after they are launched i dont give a shit how the tanks look as long as the model represents the armour layout i play this game for fun not to look at pretty tanks and that means them not offering this option is a giant middle finger for anyone who thinks the same about the game as me.
    my issue is ony going to get worse as well they are adding nothing but HD tanks from now on and their adding about 15 new HD tanks next patch so that is going to be a fucking nightmare for me this is complete bull shit.
    all i want is a manageable file download size and now theyve said no to that. as i said before i dont give a shit about how the tanks look but now im being forced to download these huge patches just to play the game. its ok for people like jingles and QB to download this shit because their making videos based on this game but it pisses me off that im not being given the option to avoid this giant download which cripples the internet in my house fr about 5 hours in the smaller patches never mind the mammoth download of next patch.

  11. Well in the last hour of the stream the WGer (Micheal? the German that lives in Paris) let slip that the Firefly WILL be in 9.5. either as a tier 6 or 7 (they havent decided yet). QB was trying to get more information about it but all else he provided was confirmation and the tier possibilities.
