    • This (along with new motion) really has the potential to totally fuck WoT up. The easy, mass-market friendly, motion controls are one of the strongest aspects of WoT’s appeal. I hope they don’t get it wrong.

    • The moment you apply brakes, or otherwise stop the tank, the front of the hull will go down and the ass will go up in the air. If an enemy would happen to aim for your front sprocket while you’re stopping, he might shoot over it.

      • Would it work with server aiming too? Like if you aim forward and as low as you can you could be able to utilise the “front down, ass up” while breaking to aim even lower, enabling you to make tricky shots?

        Could be interesting.

        • This can alreaddy be done to some extent because the tank do have suspensions as it is, if im not wrong. I have tested accelerating and braking on my tiger II and panther II and they rock back and fort a bit. Test yourself and you will see. So what will the actual change be?

          • The fact is that the vehicles are currently swaying only client-side, which means that only you see the tank swaying and it currently has no effect on gun depression/elevation.

        • Yes, they already said in one Q&A, that it will be possible to do that.
          And, as Ferdinand Porsche mentioned, it’s possible even now. Have done it few times, it helped.

    Yeah, it will be the basket ball LTTB league mode and the golf GWtiger championship mode.

    Remove this restriction completely! Give us unlimited render distance!

      • We all know WG cant balance for crap.
        Tier 6 was balanced so good – only OP tanks were nerfed (they missed Cromwell somehow – which is borderline OP).
        Doesnt need to buff UP ones.

      • They just needed to introduce what I like to call ‘Battle Rating”, or “BR” for short, alongside Tier Position. That idea is original and will cost ya…

    It’s not like they promised this over 1 year now…

    Anyhow, it wouldn’t matter that much thanks to the GLORIOUS map design, ensuring that you don’t need to drive more than 50m to meet the enemy!

    • But it does! The drawbox, along with the spotting system, are on top of my list of “What’s fucked up in WoT”.

  5. i don´t really understand what is so hard about changing the mathematic formula in the script from square to circle. Probably they are still figuring out how to calculate the radius so the actual coverage area of spotting stays the same.

    • Literally, their servers would smoke from additional loads. Currently there are two simple compare value checks plus one condition, whereas with circle it would be like additional spotting check every time – and we already know that they are main computations now and stress servers most.

    • It’s going to really change some maps, so there will need to be rebalancing. E.g. Karelia who ever wins the donut can snipe the other side with impunity. With the proposed circles this will be out of range (this isn’t a balance issue – though it could be on Assault mode).

      It will affect all maps to varying degrees and completely change the balance on some.

      • I would love if they made a circle with at least 700m radius, giving us the longest rendering distance, but in every direction. Yes, yes, I know, server load, loads of smoke, end of the world.

        On a bright side, if their servers would manage to cope with it I guess maps wouldn’t need to be changed as much as when they give us … was it 500m? … circle.

  6. Sway? So ..like WarThunder where a stationary tank has the advantage because a moving one has to settle first…..oh goody.
    But WT doesn’t have aimtime. If this sway thing affects aimtime(it should, the tank is still technically moving) then that means that instead of just aimtime we should wait for aimtime and the tank to settle…Even better.

    What might they take next, permanently destroyable guns? That ought to be a community favourite. #StronkIdeasOnly

  7. If you have dynamic camera, then the tank swaying shouldnt hurt the aimtime. Because even now if you turn off dynamic camera you need to wait untill the vehicle is stationary to aim. The tank as it is now still rocks back and forth when braking and accelerating, just not as much.

      They really should add more tooltips into settings…

      btw, is there a way to actually “move camera ”
      You know just like its in the garage.. during battle, it somehow flies high over the tank, not behind it…
      Is there a way to move it lower ? any mod or settings in xml ?

      • The swaying alreaddy exist as it is. Turn off dynamic camera and you will have to wait 1-2 seconds after you stop the vehicle to aim, because the crosshair will move up and down as the hull sways. Dynamic camera fix the crosshair aiming to where you point it, no matter if the hull sways or not, but the dispersion will be affected though.

        So yeah if the tank sways more with the new physics, expect the dispersion to be affected more, which isnt good. Unless they will rebalance all vehicles, wich I remember they said they would when new motion physics come.

        Making the dispersion take a hit, just because the tanks now sway more is a aim time nerf really. Stiffer suspension on tanks makes dispersion penalty while moving hull smaller (as it is now).

    FUCKING HELL. The biggest gameplay changer aside from redoing spotting mechanics and they’re backburning it. Fuck this WoT.. it was fine when it came out, but it’s getting dated really fast, no matter how much ‘HD’ing they’re doing.
