Storm on new physics: “In the new physics, the interaction between the vehicle and small obstacles and irregularities on the ground is completely different. When going over such spots, the tanks lose much less speed, shrugging these obstacles off by the work of its suspension. It’s much easier to keep the target in your sights without losing your speed. I consider one of the positive aspects of new physics.”

- Storm confirms that the Chieftain in the game will be Mk.2 (SS: he was mistaken before with Mk.3, not a hard mistake to do, since Vickers MBT Mk.3 was considered for WoT)
- developers are not making the Chieftain model yet, it will be scanned in Bovington first
- Chieftain and the FV4202 switch will not come this year apparently
- it’s possible that 0.9.5 will come this year (specifically December 14 was mentioned by Storm)
- IS-7 “rectangular” gun barrel will be fixed later
- reworked historical battles will definitely not come in 2014
- vehicles in new historical battles will be “historical”, but which ones exactly will be used is not decided yet
- Chaffee 43k XP compensation will NOT be free XP
- tank corpses (destroyed tank hulls) do not ricochet in 9.3, only tanks that are alive do
- Chinese tank crew setup (where the radioman position switches from one crewmember to another) will be fixed
- T-54 HD model does not correspond the T-54 Light HD model. T-54 model has to be fixed according to Storm

Just for it to be clear for everyone: currently, the test server is running the 3rd test round. The previous list of changes I marked as 3rd round was an update to the second round. Yea, it gets confusing.

Also, please note that the “Crab Village” map leaked earlier is apparently an internal WG map, used for testing the vehicles.

- Q: “Will the Chaffee case be the only case of compensation?” A: “We will see every time individually, if there are any such cases in the future.”
- the Chaffee compensation (43340 XP) will be added to the current XP you have on the Chaffee. This is the final decision, it won’t be changed.
- the Chaffee solution was accepted because “it’s a fast and simple solution”
- Storm confirms: FV215b (120) will be changed to Chieftain Mk.3 and FV4202 to Centurion Action X
- FV215b (120) will not stay in the game
- Storm states that the Chieftain will be better than FV215b
- Storm states that he can’t say whether Action X turret will be durable (good for “tanking”), models have to be made first and it has to be tested, but the turret will be tough overall
- patch 9.3 will come soon
- no plans to allow player to buy “event tanks” for money
- according to Storm, the real fate of the FV4202 premium (for free or not) will be announced “closer to winter” – for now the current info (SS: by Evilly about the mission apparently) should be better disregarded

Oddly enough, there was a case on RU server, where a WG employee (community or something) “stole” a nickname from a 0 battle account (“Superman”). Why can’t we have that officially? I bet there are plenty of good nicknames belonging to 0 battle accounts, that logged in once – in 2012.

Also, if you are interested in a somewhat more “critical” opinion on World of Warships (seemingly), check out this article. For some strange reason, the content plus the site where it was published made me remember Zoe Quinn…

Also, the EU “Twilight of Gods” results are in and Wargaming fucked up once again – some players got their tanks awarded twice (once the tank, once its price in gold) while others got shit. Those, who got shit, are according to German forum rep scheduled to get the tank in the future when WG cleans up the mess.

- it’s possible that there will be a medal (award) for killing someone with a ricocheted shell
- mantlet thickness of Object 263 is 250mm, there are no “holes” in it
- there are no publicly accessible data about the mantlet armor of Object 263 available

- neither Havok nor massive rebalance of vehicles was promised for 9.3
- the “ground hole” on Ruinberg map was fixed in 9.3
- in 9.3, Chaffee XP compersation will not be awarded as free XP (it will be tied to the Chaffee)
- destroyed transmission and engine will not count towards “assist damage” bonus (as when you destroy the tracks)
- it’s possible that IS-7 will have the pintle-mounted machinegun returned, but it’s not certain
- apparently, account transfers are not that difficult to implement, but permanent transfer options were never really discussed

Evilly Q&A from Stalin Line

Source: http://world-of-ru.livejournal.com/3489411.html

Hello everyone,

Russian game producer Anton “Evilly” Pankov met players during the Tanker’s Day event at the Stalin Line museum in Belarus. Here’s what he said, courtesy of Ridethehorseman, RU LJ user.

- 2015 will be the “Year of Random battles”
- 9.4 will bring the Stalingrad map as well as initial stage of Havok
- new reworked Historical battles will resemble coordinated company mode battles (each team will play one conflict side), it will include PvE elements as well
- first PvE tests will come in 2015
- there will be multicore support in the future
- 9.4 will bring “new version of Bigworld” (SS: here I am not sure by with the meaning)
- T95E6 and Object 907 tanks are reserved for third and fourth CW campaign
- it will be possible to gain a reward tier 10 tank as a mission reward (VK7201 and others) in random battles, but only one (SS: as in, players will have the chance to get the M60 they so wanted :))
- the mission from the question above will be “individual mission” (SS: as in, presumably, different for each player)
- there will be tanks turning on their roofs, but only after testing, developers want to be really careful with them
- Chaffee race will come in 9.3

A fun fact I have not seen written anywhere before. Did you know that fire (amongst other effects) reduces the camo of your tank to zero?

- some tier 10 vehicles have unlockable guns, because, as SerB explains: “In real life, these vehicles had ‘stock’ guns. The need to unlock the top guns is compensated by lower unlocking price of the vehicle itself.”
- Q: “Why is KV-85 called KV-85 and not KV-100 or KV-122?” (SS: the number obviously means gun caliber, so 122mm KV-1S would be KV-122. The name is not automatic and it’s more complicated than that, but as a demonstration, it’s okay) A: “Because of all those, KV-85 was the only vehicle that was in a way mass produced and fighting.”
- Q: “Remove the 25 percent RNG for the sake of cybersports!” A (SerB): “Stop whining already.”
- it seems the IS-7 model is now alright in the 3rd iteration of the test
- apparently, the top of the hangar UI is final for 9.3 the way it is (the gold, credits, XP part will not be changed)

As a part of the fighting against the bots on RU server, Wargaming permanently banned only today more than 1500 accounts of botters, who used bots despite previous 45 day ban warning. Now I wish EU server did the same thing…

- 9.3 will be released “later” than Tuesday (SS: Thursday I think)
- T49 will not have another 90mm gun
- T67 turret armor will be fixed in the final 9.3 version
- Storm states that the HD IS-7 armor was not nerfed, everything is roughly the way it was (there are differences like 1-2 degrees of angle etc.), the side of the turret is even stronger than before
- XP bonus for “tanking” (blocking shells with armor) and the punishments for suiciders will definitely not appear in the final 9.3 release version, it does however not mean the features were scrapped

Storm explains why it was removed:

“Without doublechecking by collecting the stats, we can’t release such changes. Accordingly, the formula has to be changed, released to live server (in such a way that the XP bonus was not issued, only written in statistics), the statistics have to be collected and only then it is decided whether such a thing can be released or not. The “tanking bonus” stats are collected and analysed since Spring. There were several iterations. Current fail is connected to the fact that in the previous iteration, the stats were not collected and processed correctly.”

Kinda forgot about it, but if you are interested in some exotic armor, you can check out Listy’s article on Disston tractor in Afghanistan.

Unfortunately, there is practically nothing new today, so let’s have instead some… insider info! An assortment of random WG RU facts, that didn’t really fit anywhere.

- some developers watch Markiplier and Pewdiepie on Youtube in their free time (SS: no idea who they are)
- a few devs that play in their personal accounts have actually an average win rate of 52-54%
- a recent inner poll showed medium tanks are considered the most fun to play, and the least fun is artillery
- developers from Minsk sometime watch streamers on USA/EU, but they never speak, they dislike players who cover up their maps with images while streaming (because it leads them to think they are hiding illegal mods)
- a few of themĀ  like watching MightyJingles, but they didn’t like the nickname Jingles gave to the JPE-100 (SS: not sure what the nickname is, anyone?). However, they respect him.

- Q: “New 9.3 hangar interface was made for premium hangar, that’s obvious” A: “Thanks, funny.”
- the punishment system for suiciders will be disabled for now. Wargaming did not manage to make it working correctly in cases such as this:

- HD models of T-34 and T-34/85 tanks were made by different people, Storm states that the hulls are not historically identical anyway
- Storm states that when it comes to modelling WoT tanks, there are practically no parts, that would be identical on more than one tank – such is only the case of such parts as roadwheels, boxes and fuel tanks
- there is no plan to allow players set the level of “rust” of their tanks, as it is in War Thunder
- IS-7 will remain as rusty as it is in 9.3 test
- there is currently a bug in 9.3 test where the thickness of the KV-85 100mm and 122mm barrels is the same. It will be fixed.

- Q: “What are the advantages of the T-54 Light? It has none compared to other vehicles!” A (SerB): “Don’t want to play it? Don’t play it. Better whine some more instead, for practice.”
- Q: “Will the D-10-85 gun, that was planned to be installed on SU-85, be added to other vehicles than LTTB?” A: “If needed.”
- Object 430 accuracy was decreased to 0,38 “to make it different from other Soviet tier 10 mediums”
- very slow tanks that sometimes have no activity due to their slow speed (like the US T95 GMC) will not suffer from the “anti-AFK” system – developers do keep them in mind when designing the system
- Chaffee and MT-25 gold camouflage will not be compensated (transferred to other vehicles) now that they won’t be the top light tanks of their nation anymore
- no tank in the game is balanced with players using only gold ammo on Wargaming’s mind
- Q: “Will you add medals for killing people with ricocheted shells?” A: “You think there are too few medals in the game still? :)”
- it’s possible that in the future, engine fires will be extinguished by driving the tank into the water, no ETA
- more tanks will have their engine/transmission split implemented in one of the upcoming patches
- new dynamic tracks (as shown in 9.3 test) are still work in progress, they have many bugs
- roadwheels of the Tiger in 9.3 test are not bugged
- Storm states that the new HD models turned out much better than the ones that were made for 9.0, for example he thinks welds are looking pretty good. IS-7 is an exception – that model is bugged – low LOD gun barrel is displayed instead.
