- Storm states that over the last year, the player credit gain from tier 8 premium tanks increased, since Wargaming (several times) improved the tier 8 premium tank money making ability
- map Stalingrad is currently in development
- Havok implementation will not bring effects such as camo net appearance on the tank, it will bring nice looking object destruction and dynamic equipment on tank (SS: as in fuel cans, tools etc.) that’s hanging, moving and can be ripped off by explosions
- developers will definitely continue to develop the 0.9.1 test “Hellcat” sounds
- nothing is known of the FV217 TD/SPG according to Cannoneer
- 9.3 will bring Hellcat nerf
- the reason why WG implemented FV215b instead of having Chieftain from the start was that when the British tree was introduced, the Chieftain was considered to be too modern. After that, they sent people to measure the armor (SS: in Bovington) and found out that it’s not actually as fearsome as it was thought before.
- Centurion Mk.10 can’t be British tier 10 – its armor upgrade is already in the tier 9 Centurion 7/1 (the “/1″ part specifically signifies the armor upgrade)
- Ruinberg on fire lighting ugly and reducing performance? “How terrible”
- top light tank economy (income vs repair cost) will not be buffed
- T49 will not be nerfed in 9.3

- the automatized recovery of sold premium tanks (that was/is available on US server) is still in development for other servers
- earlier, SerB wrote that the profitability of a premium tank depends on its winrate – developers are collecting statistics about the influence of skill of players on credit profit on that respective premium tank, this data will of course not be disclosed
- a long time ago, it was mentioned that there is a possibility that immobilized tanks (detracked) with only one track off will be able to move in limited way. This was scrapped, SerB states that if they did that, the players would spend the rest of the battle in chain immobilization (SS: as in, they would get detracked over and over again, not sure why SerB thinks that)
- the fate of FV215b will not be disclosed for now
- Gavalov tank as tier 5 Soviet light tank? “It’s more like a development of T-70″ (SS: as in, no)
- there will be Object 430 buff
- the armor model will not be changed from “planes with armor values” to “full realistic armor” (SS: as in, armor plates will not gain real thickness), as this would cause all sorts of problems with calculations
- current armor mechanics are satisfactory according to Veider – the developers tried to consider other armor calculation variants, but all turned out to be worse than what there currently is.
Stronkhold and CW Russian Q&A Stream
Source: http://world-of-ru.livejournal.com/3403105.html
Hello everyone,
recently (23.7.2014 20:00 MST), there was a stream with some high end Russian clan players and WG employee (clanwars specialist) Dmitryi “Fluke” Grigorov. As usual, Maiorboltach from world-of-ru made a summary. Here it is!
- the difference between Stronkhold and Farmville is that everything in this mode you have to gain through combat, not outside of the mode
- on 10th tier of the Stronkhold, the bonus to credit gain is 50 percent, crew XP bonus is 100 percent and free XP bonus gain is 100 percent
- there will be no tank freezing
- going out on a raid won’t cost you resources
- the resources will be distributed amongst players directly proportionally to the XP gained in combat during the raid (even in defeat)
- resources don’t accumulate on “player account”, they go directly to the clan treasury
- the option to attack stronkholds of other clans is scheduled (preliminary, it’s possible it will move) for 9.3 (this option will be available only for tier 5 and higher stronkholds)
- 4th tier of Stronkhold will give you a 8-12 percent bonus for all resources
- all the Stronkhold functions and options are available not only to the clan commander, but also to the deputies. In the future versions, the clan positions will be updated, there will be new functions added for them, some of the new functions will be connected with Stronkhold mode
23.7.2014
- Veider confirms that the new KV-85 tier 6 tank (split of KV-1S in 9.3) will have a 100mm top gun, with the (nerfed) 122mm as an alternative (SS: the 100mm will according to historical data – if they use them – have roughly the same penetration)
- there are no plans to introduce the option to sell premium tanks for gold
- no plans to introduce bigger platoons in PC version of the game
- the date of third CW campaign won’t be disclosed for now
- captured German T-34 and KV-1: “when it’s done it’s done”
Interview with Big Boss Kislyi
Source: http://www.vedomosti.ru/library/news/29261941/my-prevratili-tank-v-brend-viktor-kislyj-osnovatel-i
Thanks to Maiorboltach (yet again) for providing a link to this news :)
Hello everyone,
on the portal linked above, there is a huge interview with Viktor “Big Boss” Kislyi, Wargaming CEO and one of the most influential Wargaming people (if not THE most influential person). The interview took place in Nikosia (Cyprus). The interview is very long, so I’ll make an abridged version.
- in top 200 Belarussian businessmen, Kislyi is on 13th place
- his first contact with computergames was in his father’s science laboratory on very old computers
- VK went to specialized chess elementary school
- he studied physics faculty in Belarus (on the insistence of his father)
- one of the first games he programmed was a sort of multiplayer strategy, playable over e-mail in 1996
- he worked as a programmer for 25 USD per month, just enough to keep from starving, the first videogames were not profitable
- Kislyi did not get money from the big “Order of War” either, because it came during the 2008-2009 crisis, that’s when he learned that the retail model for small and medium game projects is dead and that if they make games like that, they will barely survive, so it was either stop making games or to come up with something new, which was online distribution
22.7.2014
Ha, after practically half a year, SerB started answering questions! Here’s what he wrote:
- the exact formula of credit gain calculations will not be disclosed
- there is no direct corellation between credit gain and winrate: “Playing to gain maximum amount of money, playing to gain maximum amount of XP and playing for maximum winrate are very different things”
- “Developer diaries” video series was not scrapped
- regarding the new motion physics – “it’s not that far away”
- some variants of the motion physics were scrapped because they were too realistic – “drifts, etc.”
- the developers did expect the “OMG leave it please!!!” reaction on the removal of the football mode
- Football mode returning? “Yea, and also the tank figure skating and battleship synchronized swimming” (SS: as in “no”)
21.7.2014
- apparently, on ASIA server, you can also claim the recently sold premium tanks back, but no news on the automated premium tank recovery feature the US server has
- there will be a gift tank for Wargaming anniversary in August
- apparently, developers are considering replacing other “fictional” tanks with more historical candidates in the future (SS: I asked further are this is the ideal case scenario, if there is any real suitable replacement)
- the option to change the sound output device within the game “on the go” is not planned
- KV-5 and Super Pershing will not get buffed
- In the future, WoT will support Dx11
- 25 percent RNG reduction was considered 4 years ago, developers decided to leave it as it is
20.7.2014
- the unhistoricity of tanks in the game is relative according to developers: some players claim that 70 percent of all tanks are “unhistorical” – developers argue that this number could be brought to up to 100 percent, since there is practically always an unhistorical element in some tanks (such as maximum speed)
- why was WT E-100 nerfed in second test? “Because reducing the number of shells by 1 and buffing the magazine reload time made it even strunger. No way we want that.”
- the fact that tanks need rebalance every now and than is normal: “If it ever stops, it means we closed the project. Every online project has constant rebalancing. Sometimes only a small one, but every project. There is no ideal balance in the world.”
19.7.2014
- for now, amphibious tanks won’t be implemented
- Cannoneer (a developer, responsible for historical tank research) states that FV4202 can actually have the 105mm L7, as the 20pdr and 105mm L7 were interchangeable (they used the same mount)
- RU251 dimensions compared to Leopard 1: 10 percent shorter, 8 percent narrower and 14 percent lower (for hull only)
- Leopard prototype cannot be a tier 8 premium tank according to developers, because its every version has a 105mm gun
- IS-6 armor and maximum speed are historically correct, won’t be buffed
- IS-4 will not get S-34 (100mm) and S-34-2 (122mm) guns, that were used on its prototypes. Cannoneer explains that the S-34 is basically the same as the D-10T and the S-34-2 is practically equal to the D-25T
18.7.2014
- T34 (US premium tank) will be “reworked”, when it gets turned to HD
- position on recoilless guns will most likely not change
- Chinese tanks will not be changed (SS: the player was suggesting that the British are getting changes because they are unpopular)
- height of ingame T-54 is correct
- +/-1MM will not be introduced, “it would not be interesting to play”
- 50 percent of players play with improved render, 50 percent use the original old render
- the change of crew role (SS: radioman to driver for example) will come soon
- the “70 people develop WoT” number is without testers, with testers it’s cca 100
- Storm explains the “T-54 Model 1945″ premium Soviet tier 8 medium tank: “The decision has already been made and the models are already being created. We didn’t want to have a large number of T-44′s – if we are to make many clones anyway, T-54 fits the role more as the most mass-produced tank in history”
- choosing your tanks in team battles depending on the map? “This year I hope”
- in the past, developers mentioned they want to add extra features for premium account to compensate for some premium features lost, such as the platoons. In the end this did not happened, because “we didn’t figure out nothing suitable”
- the combat UI is still using ActionScript 2 version
- Not much time left until AFK’ers, standing on the base and not moving will get no XP from battle
