Hello everyone,
I am sure many of you, dear readers, are participating in clanwars in one way or another and therefore are familiar with the current “Twilight of Gods” event. For those, who do not follow this stuff, the short version is that CW clans are competing for a special territory called “Valhalla”. You know, Ragnarok, norse mythos and all that. Anyway, this minicampaign seems to be plagued by various – if not fails, then at least very strange events.
First and possibly the most visible is the fact that several clans got banned for game rigging. Make no mistake – the entire idea is good and in at least one case, the ban was completely justified. However, in other cases, it was likely not. The entire ban system works like this (as explained by Tuccy on the forums):
- the system automatically detects rigged battle based on certain criteria (which are unknown, but likely involve battles of a full team versus incomplete team, 15:0 wins, one team not doing any damage and such)
- clan leader and his deputies recieve a warning email, in which the support asks them to submit the replay of the suspicious battle
- if they do not react on the email, they get banned
- if they STILL don’t react on the email, the entire clan gets banned (this is the part when most of the clan detects something is kinda wrong, there apparently is also very little delay between the last two steps).

Hello everyone,
as you already know, the special event, that’s allegedly to come in the future is a Chaffee race on the modified Port map. Here’s an award you are going to get for this mode, which is in Russian called “Smertelnye Gonki”, which means something like “Mortal Race” or “Death Race”.
Hello everyone,
found this gem on the EU server last night… this is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen on our forums. Damn good work, Tomkrist. And you, dear readers – enjoy :)

The ISU-152 has long been a menace at tier 8 with its devastating 152 mm BL-10 gun, capable of bringing the pain to even top tier adversaries. What about its predecessor, the SU-152? You can have a D-25S to make it a poor man’s SU-122-44 or get the ML-20S, sling gold to hope to pen anything, and rapidly become a poor man. This just will not do. To the archives!
Let’s start with boring things, like the rate of fire. In game, it’s 3.39 RPM. “Aha!” you may yell, “the real rate of fire of the SU-152 was N RPM! Russian Bias!” I’ve heard many values for N, usually less than 2. As usual, people have read a number on the internet, didn’t understand it, and wish to yell it as loudly as possible. Soviet testing standards for rates of fire included using every rack (not just the ready rack), and re-adjusting targets. According to Yuri Pasholok’s book SU-152 and other SPGs on the KV tank chassis, the SU-152 achieved a rate of fire of 2.8 RPM using the first availability racks (10 shells), and the loader could load a shell from the most convenient rack in 16 seconds. Since WoT exists in an ideal world where every shell is in your best rack and your loader just chugged his own weight in Red Bull, the peak ROF (3.75 RPM) is not unreasonable.
“But Ensign!” you say, “I can get 3.75 RPM with a rammer or vents! Surely there is something better in your vast repository of knowledge!” Uh, let’s see, what else. A common field modification was an extra ammo rack of 5 made out of wooden spacers, placed underneath the gun, that’s a thing I guess. A ROF boost and few more shells isn’t so bad, give me a break, not every Soviet tank can get a huge and awesome buff.

Hello everyone,
this is the upcoming tier 8 German premium tank. Basically, it’s exactly what the name suggests – Panther with Schmalturm and 88mm L/71. The description reads:
The work on modifying the “Panther” in order to carry the new turret type (“Schmalturm”) began already in Spring 1944. In order to differentiate it from the previous model, it recieved the Panther Ausf.F designation. On 23.1.1945, colonel Holzhauer reported on the development of the installation of the 88mm King Tiger gun in the modified version of that turret. Even though a significant number of the hulls was produced, the turret remained in the wooden mock-up stage.
Enjoy :)
Send your epic 9.2 (and very soon 9.3) replays at darthworas@gmail.com.
And dont forget to send upcoming Tank Race replays too!
Thanks to Schorai for this one.
Hello everyone,
if you were looking for yet another round of free stuff and insane discounts victory of Wargaming in the Golden Joystick competition, I have some bad news for you.
This year, World of Tanks is not participating in the competition. Wargaming has three horses in the game:
- Best Online Game category – World of Tanks for Xbox
- Best Online Game category – World of Warplanes
- Best Mobile Game category – World of Tanks Blitz
As both non-PC games have only a fraction of World of Tanks playerbase and neither has a shared account with WoT, I would not expect anything. Also, World of Warplanes is a complete failure, if it wins, well… I guess we’ll know that the poll is about as objective as the Nobel peace prize.
You can visit the site for category nominations to see, whether anyone is worthy of your vote. Well, there is War Thunder, but… :)
