Building the AMX-30 Branch
Hello everyone,
as you probably already realized, the French tree is possibly the most neglected tree in World of Tanks. Of course, there is a reason for that and we’ll get to that, but for now, we have some good news: the AMX-30 branch (or “branch”, you’ll see) is scheduled to come in 2015, as was previously confirmed by Storm.
So, the will to improve the French is there, but the real question is: is it even possible?
There is a reason the French branch was neglected. The reason is: “insufficient data”. While it might seem odd to you, considering the French were very active in their armor research after the war, there are very few candidates for the hightier medium tank positions – and by very few, I mean none at all. Let’s have a look at the branch itself then.
This above is the first (and last) concept of the AMX-30 branch, as it was disclosed two years ago. Most AMX-30 branch player proposals incorporate this sort of line in them. I asked around how viable this concept is now, two years later and the answer was – not at all. This will simply not happen. The main reasons for that is that G1P on tier 7 would have to be overbuffed and that AMX-45 is a heavy tank, not a medium. As a “bonus”, very little is known about it and generally noone really likes this kind of setup.

Wargaming recently released another video from the “Remember Everything” series, dedicated to honoring the World War Two veterans. Technically, there is nothing wrong with that – these people in the movie (describing their feelings about “protecting the motherland” and all that) fought in possibly the worst war conflict in human history (personally, strictly combat-wise, disregarding the terrible WW2 background of concentration camps and such, I consider the battlefield of WW1 to be the most terrifying thing to happen in the history of wars) and deserve our respect.

WG EU Fail-a-thon

the Golden Joystick competition is coming once again and Wargaming EU acts the way they used to – they screw up whatever they touch. Take the Top of the Tree for example. First, it looked like this:
A medium tank discount over a medium line? Sounds logical. Oh well, too bad it didn’t stay that way and got changed to WZ-132 the way it was announced in the September leaked plans. Wargaming not reading even their own materials? How terrible. And I am not talking about how they apparently shifted the 121 to tier 9.

today… well, just now, I discovered a huge problem in my life that I have to fix and it will require quite some money and time. Dont ask, it’s personal. I just wanted you to know the impact it will have on FTR:
From now on, I will be posting only the translations in the evenings until I fix it. They will come later, 9-10PM CEST or so. Furthermore, the chance I will reply on any mail is very low from now on, I recieve too many and takes too much time.
If you want to drop your Patreon support as a result, Ill understand. I hope to fix it as soon as I can to return to “normal” mode of FTR, but tbh I am not optimistic about that. Will do the best I can for you. Sorry for this.
New Premium Tank Bonus Incoming?

an interesting thing appeared in the supertest client. Yesterday, the site gamemodels3d got it from somewhere and posted a list of changes, that happened between 9.2 and 9.3 supertest. One of the changes that caught my eye was the following:
Коэффициент опыта экипажа 1.5 ( 1.0 )
What it means in English is that all the premium tanks (and reward tanks that act like premiums, such as VK7201) recieved a 50 percent bonus to crew XP gain.
Whether it’s just a supertest thing or a seriously considered change, that I do not know (given the fact that something as big would be announced, I doubt we’ll see that in 9.3), but it’s certainly not a bad idea.
