Hello everyone,
there has been an initiative (and I am not sure, whether it comes from US or EU server) to actually keep the Karl (plus the labyrinth map minigame) in World of Tanks after the three day period it was programmed to appear in.
A petition can be found here, to this date, it reached 822 signatures

Just thought you might want know about it, you know, if you are a fan of the thing. Personally, while it’s fun once or twice, watching two Karls chasing one another for 3 minutes around one block of bricks kinda “cured” me of this mode, but maybe it’s the fact I didn’t play this Battlecity game as a child :)

Hello everyone,
in this post, I’m going to present you a not quite known, yet innovative World War II tank development project, the Hungarian 44M Buzogányvető rocket laucher, mounted on a Toldi light tank.
First of all, I think I should write a quick summary about the 44M. Buzogányvető itself (pronunce: buzoga:ɲvetø, literally it can be translated “mace-thrower” or something like that, because it was named after the mace-shaped rocket it fired):
In 1942, to counteract the appearance of Soviet heavy tanks and the overall Soviet armor dominance, the Hungarian Institute of Military Science (HTI) started their own anti-tank rocket development. The other reason was, just like in some other cases, that the Germans were unwilling to share their top secret military technology with their not-too-reliable allies, such as the Hungarians. So the Hungarians were on their own with this problem.
Hello everyone,
today’s review will be a bit special, since as of now, For the Record basically has two ways how anyone can contribute – either by that Paypal button in the upper right corner, or by the Patreon system. I explained it in detail in the original post and I would like to thank everyone, who took part in the pledges and contributed via Patreon – you can find the entire list here, although I would especially like to thank Tugboat1964 (as usual :)), Godsmacked, Ammattimies, daedric_orc and Kkesu for extra-large pledges.
What happens now is that we wait. There is a day (and I am not sure which day), where (once per month) the pledges will be transferred. It’s supposed to be “end of the month”, but it hasn’t happened yet, so I guess it will start from next month or so.
But of course, I haven’t forgotten other people, who have contributed to FTR via Paypal!

It is no secret that Heinz Guderian, a leading thinker in the German school of armoured warfare, was greatly impressed by the Soviet T-34 tank. In October of 1941, one of his subordinates from the 4th Tank Division wrote: “Immediately create copies of the 26-ton Russian tank, and use captured 26- and 52-ton tanks. Each tank regiment should have one company of these tanks.” It is also known that Fast Heinz’ plan to clone the T-34 was unsuccessful. What is less known is what happened later, when Guderian ran into one of the more underrated tanks of the war, the T-60.
The T-60 was one of the most numerous tanks of the Second World War, but, as a light tank, it lacked the thick armour or impressive firepower of the T-34, IS, Tiger, Panther, and other famous tanks of the war. Little is written about it, which is a shame, as Guderian saw much promise in it. Torsion bars, that Russian hard steel he was a fan of, sloped armour, easily obtainable and reparable engines. The design was far superior to that of German light tanks, and even the captured Czech tanks in the Wehrmacht’s service were starting to show their age. The T-60, a modern light tank, was what the Wehrmacht needed. Better yet, the factory at Kharkov was not evacuated completely before the Germans captured it, giving them a manufacturing base.
Feel the tank power!
Hello everyone,
each server has its own jokes and SEA can’t be left behind :) Check this brilliant idea out (the thread got hidden pretty fast)
