Straight Outta Supertest: AMX-30 1st Prototype

Hello everyone,

this is the upcoming tier 9 medium tank, the “first prototype” of AMX-30. It will be unlocked from AMX-13/90.

83-sCwwamZs

Description: Created as a part of the competition to create a “unified European tank” and took part in the comparative trials with the Leopard 1. It surpassed all the tanks (except for Leopard 1) in mobility and power-to-weight ratio and had the longest effective firing range. Even though its armor was weaker than the majority of contemporary tanks, the development of anti-tank shells made up for the difference.

Characteristics (for 100 percent crew):

Hitpoints: 1650
Engine: 720 hp
Weight: 32,5 tons
Power-to-weight: 22,15 hp/t
Maximum speed: 65/23 km/h
Hull traverse: 36 deg/s
Terrain resistance: 0,863/0,959/1,726
Turret traverse: 45,9 deg/s
Viewrange: 390
Radio range: 782,1

4.2.2015

- the bug where you could not activate the consumables on the test 3 was fixed already
- there will not be a HD E-100 in 9.6. In test 3, it was removed and switched back to SD version, as the developers will not be able to fix all the mistakes of the model until the release
- there is an issue in individual missions – if an IM requires you to capture base, you do but in the time between full capture and battle end, the last enemy vehicle gets destroyed, the battle will not count for the capture mission. This is apparently not a bug and it’s possible that “explaining text will be added” to the missions in the future
- Naydin medal is bugged atm, it will be fixed in 9.6
- according to the developers, the fact that FCM 36 with PAK 40 TD (also known as Marder I, German conversion) is in the French tree and not in the German one is historical: after the Normandy landings, captured obsolete French tanks converted by the Germans to TD’s were transferred to the Free French troops, who then used them in combat
- it’s possible that the game will offer the opportunity in the future to log into the game using your social network account. The security concerns of such a solution will however be addressed first.
- drowning yourself (suicide) before the battle is over is considered “unsportsmanlike behavior” and should be reported as such
- players complain about not completing individual missions even though they should have – many of those complaints are based on the fact that these players are using obsolete mods, that make the game show incorrect mission conditions, so be sure to check your mods, whether they are up to date – or remove them

Of Individual Mission Rigging

Hello everyone,

the individual missions have been around for a while now. Many players have their StuG IV’s already, some have the T28C, some have the T55A and more than a thousand (on RU server anyway) have Object 260. I am sure many of us noticed the change in gameplay style in randoms, occasional retarded behavior of a player, who wants to complete the mission at all costs and all that. It was to be expected and I am sure Wargaming counted on it. But there’s another really serious side effect the individual missions have, the rigging.

Rigging is a process, during which the players on both teams, instead of fighting one another are working together to complete the mission objectives, screwing the rest of the team in the process. The most notorious mission to be rigged (as far as I can tell) is the last mission of the heavy tank series, where a lot of bounced shells is required. The standard rigging process of this mission looks like this:

- you take three (or five, works better) friends (clanmates) and form two platoons
- you wait until very late in the night for the best chance to appear in the battle together
- you coordinate (via Teamspeak for example) it so that both platoon leaders click “battle” at once (simply by counting down on TS). In late night hours when very few players play, the chance to appear in one battle (on the opposite sides, one platoon each side) is very high
- you meet on some spot in the battle (preferably without witnesses) and you shoot each other’s tank strongspots (frontal turret, mantlet, spaced armor parts) to accumulate as much “damage saved by armor” as possible. There we go, mission done!

Of the VK4502B Replacement (Typ 205)

Source: Wotleaks VK

Hello everyone,

in one of the upcoming patches, completely unhistorically buffed tier 9 VK4502 Ausf.B (the rear turret variant) will be replaced by a Maus prototype. The vehicle is already modelled, according to supertesters. An info from supertest (from Wotleaks) states that the vehicle’s name is “Typ 205/1″ – I am not quite sure that is necesserialy true (the name, anyway), but whatever. The vehicle looks roughly like this:

TxHdJB2

Yes, that is a (rather short) 15cm gun on tier 9. And no, if you are wondering whether that cupola on the top is a major weakspot – it’s actually 200mm thick, so probably not that major. The frontal plate is (as far as I remember) as thick as the Maus one. Model leak is possible to appear very soon.

If you are wondering, what’s going to happen with the VK4502 – as far as I know, it’s going to be removed (for now), it’s possible it might appear later as an alternative hull to VK4502 Ausf.A – or as a premium tank (definitely no “free premium” though).

What Benefits are WG Employees in Minsk Getting?

Source: http://news.tut.by/society/433652.html

Hello everyone,

an interesting article appeared on the tut.by Belarusian portal about the benefits the Wargaming employees are getting. You wanted to know why retraining a crewmember role costs 500 gold and not 200 gold or even silver? Let’s find out.

This is Igor Khrol and he works as a gruppenführer group leader of some web thingie derpartment in Wargaming. He states that the company always had a good employee benefit program – it even has its own labour benefit department of three people, taking care of just that. He considers the best part of his job the trips abroad (for example to India and Cyprus, all expenses paid) – to game development conferences, usually 2-3 times a year (“within reasonable limits”).

“Developer Answers” Video Q&A

Hello everyone,

a video with some answers from a developer Aleksander Ivanov appeared on one RU youtube channel. It’s mostly stuff we know, but Aleksander Ivanov, an “executive producer”, answered some questions as well (and those are new).

- there are no plans to replace the invite codes with a permanent bonus (gold, premium time) for newly made accounts – “if you want gold, participate in WG events and competitions”
- currently, there is still a 5 arty per team hardcap in existence, it will not be reduced to lower number, average number of arty per team is 1-2
- there are no plans to introduce hardcap on non-mobile (not as dynamic) classes (TD’s) in the game, simply because “some players are coming to the game to relax”
- there are however changes happening to remedy the “shooting bushes” (AKA “invisible TD”) issue, for example the TD viewrange nerf or changes to maps
- developers are (relatively soon, but it might be delayed) add a “clan window” to the client, in which the player will be able to see all the info about a clan (which players are in it, what’s its status in CW, stronghold)
- no plans to introduce one-man training rooms
- no plans for WoT for Linux (Ubuntu or any other)
- it’s possible WoT Blitz might come for Windows Phone, but not anytime soon
- T-50-2 will not return to WoT, in the game it was unhistorical
- developers are considering an absolutely new game mode, there are several prototypes

Fog of War Stream Q&A

Source: http://maiorboltach.livejournal.com/31767.html

Hello everyone,

yesterday in the evening, Russian Galaxy TV hosted a “Fog of War” show with Aleksei “Orc” Plotnikov (a WG developer, responsible for Clanwars) and Maiorboltach did make a summary again. Here’s what was said.

- develolopers are working on missions for Clanwars. There are two types: for beginner clans of the “get certain amount of XP during landings”, “get a province with income higher than X” or “hold province for X turns” and for strong clans, such as “capture province X in Y turns”. They will be rewarded either by gold or by “other stuff”
- developers are not planning for now to introduce assist damage for knocking out enemy player’s engine
- current 9.6 test round has a bug not allowing you to activate medkits or repair kits. It will be fixes (SS: it was hotfixed this morning)
- the clan portal is constantly being developed, for example recently they added the stronghold info

Brazilian Server Coming?

Hue.

Hue hue hue…

Ehm…. okay. Thanks to Theextr3megamer for this one. Basically, yesterday, World of Tanks youtube channel admins uploaded a Brazilian trailer for World of Tanks, that starts with the words “a batalha chega ao Brasil” – “to battle in Brasil” in Portuguese. The trailer itself is called WOT Trailer BR 30 and it is unlisted. Of course, they probably forgot that people are getting notifications of the channel uploads and so, the trailer was leaked.

Does it mean that there will be a separate Brazilian server? Well, who knows, but looks like it.

3.2.2015

- all shells of the same type have the same normalization (there is no individual normalization for specific shells)
- on test server, WZ-111 (the Christmas marathon premium) has a different icon, it’s possible this was changed due to the fact that there were some issues with the old one
- for now, chromatic aberration effect is not planned for WoT
- someone asked me about the (incorrect) Portugal flag in the game (according to this thread) – passed it on to Storm, his answer was that it will be investigated
- TD viewrange nerf will not be compensated by any buffs for now, WG will watch the statistics though
- equipment from the tanks with nerfed viewrange will not be removed for free
- T95 model in test 3 should be correct
- Storm confirms that WG is not considering banning (not allowing) trollplatoons
- spotting system overhaul will come in “medium future” (SS: usually 3-6 months)
- it’s not yet sure (decided) how will the FV4202 replacement differ gameplay-wise from current tier 10 FV4202
- regarding the concern that STA-2 premium tank will be unplayable with full MM: “we’ll watch the statistics” (SS: am I the only one who has a problem with this? So they will knowingly sell something where they are not sure of the quality of the product – in this case, whether it’s properly balanced – and then they will watch the statistics instead of making sure it IS balanced in the first place?)

Edit: please guys, don’t send me links to the “we all hate SS” Wotlabs thread, I already had a good laugh about it :) Glad to see there are some reasonable people on Wotlabs too though. Oh, that Patreon thing? Didn’t work… :)
