Tier 8 Premium Discounts Coming in December

Hello everyone,

if you are planning to buy a tier 8 premium tank, be aware that Tanitha (ASIA server producer) confirmed that there will be tier 8 premium discounts coming in December during the festivities period. He also wrote:

Just be a little warned that… big events such as these festive periods. have big global activities… (IE similar on all servers)
Being global, they need to suit all.. So with this period more emphasis is put on new year (and early January) rather than xmas itself.
So Dec -> Jan is covered fairly heavily.. Just that everything isn’t crammed into the xmas week. It’s more spread out..

So, in case you are thinking about tier 8 premium, might be worth waiting a while, regardless of what server you play on.

0.9.4.1 Hotfix on ASIA Server (fuckup inside)

Hello everyone,

in the morning of ASIA server time, the 0.9.4.1 hotfix got applied on ASIA server. Well… I’ll just leave this here. So, what do you do, when you fuck up the collision model of a vehicle in the game?

M53_M55_16-51-16

Individual Missions Coming to EU Server

Hello everyone,

many thanks to German player maXTC for this one. His friend (the name was redacted), who did not touch World of Tanks for an extended period of time (since early summer) recieved the following picture on his game-registered e-mail. Wargaming is clearly trying to lure older players back into the game.

It says: “We want you back!” and offer individual missions to the returning player as such (no time limit for the tasks):

- for simple return and playing one battle: 7 days premium account
- play 15 battles: 10 gold repair kits, 500 gold, 500k credits
- win 10 battles: 10 gold medkits, 500 gold, 500k credits
- gain 25k XP: 10 gold extinguishers, 500 gold, 500k credits

Plus a Dicker Max for free for simply logging in. Now that’s nice of Wargaming, isn’t it…

Object 260, T55A and T95E2 Videos

Hello everyone,

here are the Object 260, T55A and T95E2 videos. These were made by notable Russian video makers on testing accounts, lent by WG for these purposes. Obviously, I can’t translate the commentary of the player (nor do I want to, it’s quite subjective), but suffice to say, I’ve seen these vehicles in action on the test server (courtesy of certain supertesters and their sharing of “feeling” of the tanks”).

- Object 260 is generally liked, it is VERY maneuverable (faster than some mediums) and the frontal armor is very nasty. Generally, it’s as good as the IS-7.
- T-55A is awesome, it works as well as the T-54, no big surprises there. It’s surprisingly mobile.
- T95E2 has very nasty frontal armor, but in general, nothing much
- Panther 88 (not on videos) is just a Panther II for most intents. It’s slow, sluggish and the gun has relatively poor depression. Not the best tank around, wouldn’t buy it based on current info (but hey, without proper testing, it’s hard to say).

Swedish Tanks – Part XIX: Ikv 72 & Ikv 102

Author: sp15 (US server)

The list of previous parts is at the bottom of the article.

ikv_72-3

In early 1949, the army was looking to acquire a new generation of AFV’s. One of the requested vehicles was a new assault gun to fill the need for mechanized direct fire support for the infantry. It was believed that this vehicle could replace towed infantry guns, but to achieve this, the new assault gun needed to be as cheap as possible, so that numerous vehicles could be built. Therefore, it was decided to go with a very lightweight design, no heavier than 6 tons and to use readily available parts wherever possible.

Patently Absurd – Part III: Germany

Author: Vollketten

Part I – France: http://ftr.wot-news.com/2014/11/05/pate … -i-france/
Part II – UK: http://ftr.wot-news.com/2014/11/07/pate … d-kingdom/

Germany is obviously a famous country for its tanks – good and bad. So, after some British ones in part 2, we should take a look at some interesting German tank ideas.

From an Italian file, this one is from the firm of Blohm and Voss back in 1968; a nice design here with a 3 man crew in the hull below the turret level, well protected by very thick frontal armour. The gun is fed by an autoloading carousel. In has two files related directly to the design with different crew-less turrets and a plan to further enhance the frontal armour with a spaced armour plate, along with some other hull variants.

The same designer responsible for some of the technical aspects of that design, Dr. Hopp, designed back in 1965 this curious affair, focusing on the means, by which the crew, seated in the hull, could use optics to direct fire from the gun and conduct observations. The armament is not specifically listed.

0.9.4.1 Hotfix RU Feedback

Hello everyone,

this morning, the hotfix patch was released on Russian server, so I was naturally interested in Russian feedback, whether the micropatch is working correctly or not. Well… it’s not. Following issues were confirmed:

- the micropatch patchnotes that the bug, where the minimap markers “froze” when the enemy vehicle was further than 500 meters from you was fixed. Well, not really. Now, they don’t freeze, they disappear outright. In effect, you can’t see anyone further than 500 meters from you on minimap. Stronk.
- the M53/M55 hitbox was NOT fixed in the micropatch (“Indeed, something went wrong :( We will fix that. Thanks for info.”)

The rest got apparently fixed as announced, will keep an eye on the feedback.

9.4.1 Hotfix

Hello everyone,

according to a post on German forums, 9.4.1 hotfix is coming “very soon” (possibly tomorrow) or the day after. If will bring the following changes:

- fixed the bug where some players got stuck in the Stronghold queue on the “rotating wheel”
- M53/M55 armor model fixed
- fixed some freezes, happening when the player accepts an invitation in a lobby too fast
- fixed the bug where you could activate small repair kit even though it was used already
- fixed the bug where the lines in the “free XP conversion” window shrunk upon mouseover
- fixed the flickering during the switch between arcade and sniper mode
- fixed the bug where enemy group can see your chat (and hear your voicechat) in the “special battles” window

- fixed the second German summer camouflage
