Hello everyone,
American billionaire Paul Allen, one of the Microsoft founders, a philantropist, but also an anti-gun activist supporter (funny how all the rich anti-gun law supporters live in closed communities, protected by veritable private armies, isn’t it) has a bit of a problem. He wants to buy a Panzer IV tank, but the owner (Collins foundation) says it’s not for sale. In turn, Paul Allen decided to sue the owners. The article states:
It is a story that not only underscores and highlights the hypocrisy of big money gun control supporters, it turns practicing the double standard into an art form, if the details are being correctly reported. The story says Allen is “an avid collector of historical military planes and other equipment.” Included in that “other” category is a Soviet SCUD missile that Allen reportedly bought for $349,000 and an allegedly “rusty and inoperable Cold War-era M55 self-propelled Howitzer.”

Hello everyone,
an interesting piece of news appeared on the ria portal. According to the Chief of the Main Armored Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Russian Federation, Aleksander Shevchenko, the teams in the World of Tanks computer game remind him of real armored units of Russian military. According to him, World of Tanks professional players have all the data needed to control real tanks and to be successful in Russian military service.
He said that during the opening ceremony of the International Cup Championship “Kubinka” event, in which players from South Korea, China and Russia are participating. The championship took place on Russian Tanker’s Day at Kubinka museum. According to Shevchenko, Wargaming is actively cooperating with the Russian Ministry of Defense in promoting the interest of youth in tank history. Shevchenko said: “I am certain that there are future generals of our tank forces amongst the current WoT champions.”
SS: If RU armored forces really resemble WoT teams, world has absolutely nothing to worry about with Russian armored units shooting each other, camping in their bases, calling each other noob etc…
Hello everyone,
remember the Tas assault gun? This render video was posted on EU forums in the Hungarian section by Angelus1991ster. I am not sure about the author, perhaps it’s Angelus itself, however in any case, it’s a pretty good job.
In case you are interested in this vehicle’s history, Karika wrote an article not so long ago with all the details. In World of Tanks terms, it’s a potential Hungarian tier 7 or 8 tank destroyer (depending on the soft stats).
- neither Havok nor massive rebalance of vehicles was promised for 9.3
- the “ground hole” on Ruinberg map was fixed in 9.3
- in 9.3, Chaffee XP compersation will not be awarded as free XP (it will be tied to the Chaffee)
- destroyed transmission and engine will not count towards “assist damage” bonus (as when you destroy the tracks)
- it’s possible that IS-7 will have the pintle-mounted machinegun returned, but it’s not certain
- apparently, account transfers are not that difficult to implement, but permanent transfer options were never really discussed
Hello everyone,
in Test 3, the hangar UI got reworked a bit again. They added the server designation to the upper left corner.

Hello everyone,
Russian game producer Anton “Evilly” Pankov met players during the Tanker’s Day event at the Stalin Line museum in Belarus. Here’s what he said, courtesy of Ridethehorseman, RU LJ user.
- 2015 will be the “Year of Random battles”
- 9.4 will bring the Stalingrad map as well as initial stage of Havok
- new reworked Historical battles will resemble coordinated company mode battles (each team will play one conflict side), it will include PvE elements as well
- first PvE tests will come in 2015
- there will be multicore support in the future
- 9.4 will bring “new version of Bigworld” (SS: here I am not sure by with the meaning)
- T95E6 and Object 907 tanks are reserved for third and fourth CW campaign
- it will be possible to gain a reward tier 10 tank as a mission reward (VK7201 and others) in random battles, but only one (SS: as in, players will have the chance to get the M60 they so wanted :))
- the mission from the question above will be “individual mission” (SS: as in, presumably, different for each player)
- there will be tanks turning on their roofs, but only after testing, developers want to be really careful with them
- Chaffee race will come in 9.3
Hello, everyone. Finnish player Kantti submitted this article for publishing and I find it very, very interesting. I think that the personal experience of a father of a WoT player, who is a player himself, is something that should be considered and… well, have a look at it. I am going to keep an eye on the discussion.

Hall of Shame tells it all. People really can’t stand players, who do not perform or who they don’t think will perform due low stats. More importantly, they don’t care about even the simplest rules of social interaction, when dealing with these players.
For me, the enlightening moment was when I taught my now 7 years old kid to play on Christmas 2012 (the kid was 5,5 years then). I was ready to see how he wouldn’t perform at all and got all the rage from team players. Luckily, he couldn’t read at that point. But my surprise was quite… um…. big. I admit that the kid is skilled for his age, but still, then 5,5 year old attaining 49% WR in low tier games alone was quite surprising. Seemingly, going under 47% would take some conscious damaging of your teams efforts. It really puts into perspective how bad the worst players are. Just for curious people here to put things in perspective, here are my now 7 year old kid’s statistics. Note the amount of matches, his performance ain’t anymore due to statistical anomalies.
