- a shell in the game is represented by a single point, not an object. As such, a shell can pass through holes, that are smaller than its caliber
- developers are still thinking what to do with T-44-85
- it’s possible T-34-85M will be “available before the end of the year” – it depends on whether it’s “ready” (to be released)
- developers will not disclose the internal tank module layout (the way it is in War Thunder), there will however be an “armor inspector”
- ammo rack damage (SS: as in the possibility to damage ammo racks) will not be removed from the game
- some guns have “wrong” damage (inconsistent with other guns of its caliber)? “We will definitely fix that, as soon as we recieve the data on historical damage value these guns had”
- a player claimed that certain tanks have higher chance to get certain maps and gave “Chaffee” and “Stalingrad” as an example, Yurko2F stated this is not true for the tanks the player gave as an example
- the fact that Porsche heavy tank tracks have thicker armor than the Henschel ones is “compensated by other characteristics”
- Storm admits that the ramming system is screwed. It will be reworked and simplified by removing the fact that the armor calculated currently during the ramming is the one at the point of contact. Instead, the armor considered when ramming will simply be the nominal armor, taken from the tank characteristics (nominal front/side/rear armor) on the side that rammed (or got rammed).
- T-44 in HD? “When it’s done it’s done”

Evilly Q&A

Hello everyone,

Anton “Evilly” Pankov, WG producer, recently answered some question for WoT Fan channel. Here’s a summary.

- there are 11 new tanks in 9.5, because there will be two tier 5′s and two tier 6′s (5: Sherman, Archer, 6: Firefly and Achilles)
- tier 10 British MT will not be replaced in 9.5
- Evilly confirms that the 9.5 branch will bring Archer, Charioteer (on tier 8) and Firefly
- tier 10 in 9.5 will be “quite mobile and agile” vehicle FV4005
- 9.5 will bring new Individual Missions (missions of various difficulties with tanks as rewards)
- the IM tanks include T28 Concept, T-55A and Object 260

Evilly also confirms that as a part of the New Year mission marathon, WG will allow you to get “unique tank, that wasn’t introduced to the game yet” in a mission (SS: T-34-85M and Grosstraktor apparently)

Tier 8 Premium Discounts Coming in December

Hello everyone,

if you are planning to buy a tier 8 premium tank, be aware that Tanitha (ASIA server producer) confirmed that there will be tier 8 premium discounts coming in December during the festivities period. He also wrote:

Just be a little warned that… big events such as these festive periods. have big global activities… (IE similar on all servers)
Being global, they need to suit all.. So with this period more emphasis is put on new year (and early January) rather than xmas itself.
So Dec -> Jan is covered fairly heavily.. Just that everything isn’t crammed into the xmas week. It’s more spread out..

So, in case you are thinking about tier 8 premium, might be worth waiting a while, regardless of what server you play on.

0.9.4.1 Hotfix on ASIA Server (fuckup inside)

Hello everyone,

in the morning of ASIA server time, the 0.9.4.1 hotfix got applied on ASIA server. Well… I’ll just leave this here. So, what do you do, when you fuck up the collision model of a vehicle in the game?

M53_M55_16-51-16

Fix it? Of course not. You fuck up the visual model too. Presenting you: M53/M55 in Asian hotfix.

Incredible.

Individual Missions Coming to EU Server

Hello everyone,

many thanks to German player maXTC for this one. His friend (the name was redacted), who did not touch World of Tanks for an extended period of time (since early summer) recieved the following picture on his game-registered e-mail. Wargaming is clearly trying to lure older players back into the game.

It says: “We want you back!” and offer individual missions to the returning player as such (no time limit for the tasks):

- for simple return and playing one battle: 7 days premium account
- play 15 battles: 10 gold repair kits, 500 gold, 500k credits
- win 10 battles: 10 gold medkits, 500 gold, 500k credits
- gain 25k XP: 10 gold extinguishers, 500 gold, 500k credits

Plus a Dicker Max for free for simply logging in. Now that’s nice of Wargaming, isn’t it…

Object 260, T55A and T95E2 Videos

Hello everyone,

here are the Object 260, T55A and T95E2 videos. These were made by notable Russian video makers on testing accounts, lent by WG for these purposes. Obviously, I can’t translate the commentary of the player (nor do I want to, it’s quite subjective), but suffice to say, I’ve seen these vehicles in action on the test server (courtesy of certain supertesters and their sharing of “feeling” of the tanks”).

- Object 260 is generally liked, it is VERY maneuverable (faster than some mediums) and the frontal armor is very nasty. Generally, it’s as good as the IS-7.
- T-55A is awesome, it works as well as the T-54, no big surprises there. It’s surprisingly mobile.
- T95E2 has very nasty frontal armor, but in general, nothing much
- Panther 88 (not on videos) is just a Panther II for most intents. It’s slow, sluggish and the gun has relatively poor depression. Not the best tank around, wouldn’t buy it based on current info (but hey, without proper testing, it’s hard to say).

Swedish Tanks – Part XIX: Ikv 72 & Ikv 102

Author: sp15 (US server)

The list of previous parts is at the bottom of the article.

ikv_72-3

In early 1949, the army was looking to acquire a new generation of AFV’s. One of the requested vehicles was a new assault gun to fill the need for mechanized direct fire support for the infantry. It was believed that this vehicle could replace towed infantry guns, but to achieve this, the new assault gun needed to be as cheap as possible, so that numerous vehicles could be built. Therefore, it was decided to go with a very lightweight design, no heavier than 6 tons and to use readily available parts wherever possible.

14.11.2014

- SU-76i was removed because it was too strong (gun, viewrange)
- the main reason to use CW reward tanks in battles is the fact they are unique, that’s why it’s alright they are a bit weaker than regular tier 10′s
- the damage difference between AP and HE shells is purely a balance decision
- buff of old LT’s to match them to the new 9.3 ones? “If necessery of course.”
- night battles in WoT? “WoT players have a very poor understanding of what a night battle is”
- apparently, there’s yet another nasty bug in 9.4 – in it, players with premium account are awarded the same amount of XP as with regular account, or actually LESS (visible on this screenshot, lower right corner). Storm: “Oh fuck…”

Mini Q&A

Time for mini Q&A, because of breaking news.

- Ruinberg on Fire and Severogorsk will be completely removed from the game in 9.5 (the issue with Ruinberg on Fire is that it’s “too dark”)
- tier 10 replacement of the FV4202 (Action X) will come neither in 0.9.6 nor in 0.9.7

And others info:

- regarding the second Tiger in the crew retraining choice – “we tested stock Tiger as a separate vehicle”
- nobody knows what will happen to SU-76i now
- no buff for Super Pershing planned – for now
- Storm confirms that the M53/M55 collision model is still screwed in the hotfix
