an interesting thing appeared in the supertest client. Yesterday, the site gamemodels3d got it from somewhere and posted a list of changes, that happened between 9.2 and 9.3 supertest. One of the changes that caught my eye was the following:
Коэффициент опыта экипажа 1.5 ( 1.0 )
What it means in English is that all the premium tanks (and reward tanks that act like premiums, such as VK7201) recieved a 50 percent bonus to crew XP gain.
Whether it’s just a supertest thing or a seriously considered change, that I do not know (given the fact that something as big would be announced, I doubt we’ll see that in 9.3), but it’s certainly not a bad idea.
today, we are going to be talking about the Conqueror. Listy made an interesting historical article about what he found in the archives and it’s quite interesting. With it, the British line could be changed somewhat.
There are two potentially useful things he found.
First is the 14mm “Burster” applique armor plate, added to the hull of the vehicle to detonate HESH and HEAT shells. Pretty useful little thing, but nothing that was unknown before (there is even a report on that online) and quite frankly, in the game, the Conqueror is more like a sniper, it doesn’t need to be covered with troll spaced armor.
Second is much more interesting. A lot of people are sort of… not happy with the fact that stock Conqueror in the game uses a Centurion turret. Listy found an alternative: a “paper” turret, proposed for the Conqueror.
The armor of this turret is (in milimeters) 342/177,8/? (presumably 70), with an improved commader’s cupola armor. This could of course be a serious upgrade to the Conqueror, allowing the “elite” turret to be moved to “stock” position. Of course, tradeoffs would have to be made for this insane frontal thickness. These tradeoffs could include:
- reduction of upper front plate from 130mm to 125mm (per another document, found by Listy)
- reduction of the rear current elite turret armor from 70mm to 63.5 (source is the same document)
- possible reduction of gun depression from -7 to -5,5 (the peculiar fire control system did not allow the gunner to fire the gun below 5,5 degrees of depression)
- other soft stats nerfs
Obviously, additional research would be required, but it could be an interesting change to the Conqueror.
Thanks to Hector M. for sending me this nice little video :)
From RU server (but the Russian text is largely irrelevant) – a “test” of the dreaded AMX-40. It starts slow, but you’ll see that it’s totally OP and deserves a nerf! :)
this time, a bunch of pictures from outside of the Saumur compound. I am not sure, but I think some parts are not accessible normally (like the place where the parts of tanks are). In any case, here are the pictures. I am sorry, but I have no idea what’s on half of them, so if you help with identification, that would be great :)
- Storm confirms that the new 9.3 light tanks will come straight away as HD (some Russian player was claiming the tanks are in SD in videos)
- according to SerB, WT E-100 is not the worst thing invented by Germans, they had even weirder tanks (SS: of course it isn’t, since Germans didn’t invent it, WG did)
But if all goes well, you can look forward to some very interesting insider info tomorrow – after all, who wouldn’t want to see SerB raging? ;)
SerB was recently a guest in a Wargaming stream. Here’s what he said.
- his first “breakthrough” game was Civilization, SerB considers that game a breakthrough
- the fate of FV4202 will be officially disclosed by the end of November/in early December
- infantry was not implemented in World of Tanks, because it would affect the game rating, which would in turn heavily affect the game promotion and its popularity
- earlier, it was planned to implement special command tanks – this plan was cancelled, but there will be some special commander feature in the future
- SerB is really glad that WG bought the Total Annihilation franchise (SS: well, I guess we know now what that US guy is working on)
- captured tanks were postponed, because earlier, it was intended to use them in historical battles, but since the HB failed, they were put to side as well
- Action X Centurion will have HESH shells as well
- Italians can build only a partial branch, but WG wants a full branch
- WG has not forgotten the EU tree
by now, many have already realized that once again, Wargaming EU dropped the ball and screwed up the weekend event (and they’ve been doing SO well lately, fucking up only the Gamescom stream… or the Fury competition (the rules are very stronk)… oh well…)
The event is called “Seven Chi-Nu Kai“, which is odd, because in internal Wargaming materials from July, the event was listed as named “Tenno Haika Banzai”. I guess someone didn’t like the Banzai part, heaven forbid they hurt someone’s feelings – like a week ago, when they put “Russian power” and “Hammer and Sickle” during the anniversary of 1968 Russian invasion to Czechoslovakia… but I get it, Banzai is bad word.
So, the original event news looked like this:
And now, compare it to the current event. Oh yea, that’s right, the 50 percent discount on low tiers is missing. It wasn’t working in the morning and players complained, so – as usual, without a word – Wargaming simply removed that line. The truth is, to be fair, that the line was not supposed to be there in the first place – it wasn’t listed in the leaked event list, so someone just prolly didn’t pay attention. And of course other language mutations blindly copied it – we wouldn’t want anyone to – heaven forbid – doublecheck on stuff, depriving EU players of fail in all the languages.
One last thing made me chuckle – Chi Nu Kai is a “mid-tier armoured sniper“? With 50mm unsloped armor and medium accuracy gun (you have to count the accuracy loss after shooting as well)… well, okay…
