The story of the L-60 begins in 1934, when Landsverk was contacted by the Irish Ministry of Defence, that took notice of their advanced tank designs. Soon, it was decided, that Landsverk would produce two prototypes of their most advanced tank yet.

Developer Diaries – New Graphics

For now, only in Russian (thanks to Maiorboltach from RU community for posting it)

(Edit: fixed with English version)

In it (apart from video):

- at the time WG went out, models had 8000 polygons, more advaced models had 18k, but now, models will have 50k or so, with the most advanced ones over 100k
- there will be round roadwheels (no more octagonals)
- explanation of new shaders
- night maps, weather effects and thick smoke failed to make it to the game because of the FPS drop
- constantly snowing maps with reduced visibility (300 meters)
- dynamic weather (triggered by server, if for example snows 5 minutes in battle, reducing visibility)

Interview with Evilly

Source: http://world-of-ru.livejournal.com/3116432.html

Hello everyone,

recently, Anton “Evilly” Pankov was interviewed in a video and Maiorboltach from Russian LJ community was kind enough to provide a written version of the video info. Not too much interesting there, but no info should be missed, so…

- Evilly likes cybersports, he tried to get into e-sports, but didn’t make it, now he works for Wargaming
- he played CS profesionally (15vs15 and 30vs30 on cs_assault)
- he started as a community manager
- there will be World of Warplanes cybersports, apparently in 1vs1 format
- WG apparently still has faith in World of Warplanes, because it is successful in Europe and “has everything ahead of it”
- Chris Taylor is still working on a “supersecret project”

The video is here:

Generally not very relevant.

20.3.2014

Okay, today’s news – FTR was down for half a day and we don’t know why, something created insane traffic, but it seems to be alright now. We think someone hotlinked the pictures from FTR too much. Sorry for that, everything should be fully functional right now.

According to Storm, 9.0 test will come tomorrow.

- regarding WoT Blitz, “developers are more familiar with iOS than with Android”, that’s why iOS version comes earlier (there however will be android version as well)
- regarding the T-54, Tiger and Sherman models, released today: each of them is a bit graphically different. This is intentional: there are several ways that the developers (graphic designers) can follow and the goal (of test 9.0) is to find out, which one do the players prefer and then to follow it
- in first round of 9.0 test, only 3 HD models will appear (T-54, Tiger, Sherman), the remaining 7 will come in 2nd round
- the rest of the models will apparently be reworked to follow one of these three variants in style

9.0 HD models and maps

Hello everyone,

so, FTR is back after a nasty crash. Truth to be told, we don’t know what EXACTLY went wrong, we think it was the hotlinking, that caused the server to overload. That’s why I will (unusually) not re-host the pictures on FTR, but I will link to the Imgur picture hosting. That means that for full size, you have to right-click the picture and press “view image”. You can check the entire set here.

WGL Future Codes from Wargaming EU

Source: http://bitly.com/bundles/karsun/1, thanks to Mr_Deo for sending this to me.

Hello everyone,

okay, here’s an interesting thing. A lot of people have been hunting the 50-100g codes from Wargaming these last couples of days. As we all know, it works by scanning a QR code picture and then you get sent to a page with the code, such as this (whoever invented this method is a complete moron, but whatever). These past few days, following codes were redeemed:

7.3.2014 – WGLGRANDF1NAL
12.3.2014 – TEAMSWGLGRANDF1NAL
14.3.2014 – HOWWEROLLWGLGRANDF1NAL
15.3.2014 – WARSAWWGLGRANDF1NAL
19.3.2014 – MONOL1THWGLGRANDF1NAL

Now, the effort to bring more attention to WGL is commendable I guess, but sorry, I don’t give a crap anyway and am in it for the codes. Apparently, more people think like that as well. Someone named “Karsun” sort of leaked the code addresses in advance two weeks ago. These leaks proved to be accurate, as various codes were activated in turn. The addresses, that are still left, are:

worldoftanks.eu/content/docs/WGLGRANDF1NALROLLSOUTONFB/
worldoftanks.eu/content/docs/WGLGRANDF1NALTWEETSTANKS/
worldoftanks.eu/content/docs/WGLGRANDF1NALSHARES1MAGES/
worldoftanks.eu/content/docs/WGLGRANDF1NALWHENANDWHERE/
worldoftanks.eu/content/docs/WGLGRANDF1NALGFHASSTARTED/
worldoftanks.eu/content/docs/WGLGRANDF1NALKEEPONWATCH1NG/
worldoftanks.eu/content/docs/WGLGRANDF1NALSTREAM1SL1VE/
worldoftanks.eu/content/docs/WGLGRANDF1NALDAY3/
worldoftanks.eu/content/docs/WGLGRANDF1NALPORTAL/
worldoftanks.eu/content/docs/WGLGRANDF1NALFIRST/
worldoftanks.eu/content/docs/WGLGRANDF1NALS/
worldoftanks.eu/content/docs/WGLGRANDF1NALFEELTHEPOWER/
worldoftanks.eu/content/docs/WGLGRANDF1NAL5CODESHERE/
worldoftanks.eu/content/docs/WGLGRANDF1NALTHANKYOUTANKERS/

Basically, these are the links, that are inactive right now, but are going to be activated as soon as the code gets published. I have no idea which link exactly comes next or how exactly did the author get to them, but considering the fact that he was right before, I would say that it is legit. Not sure whether this is of any use to anyone, but at least we know (if the info is correct) there will be like 14 more codes.

New Tank MMO coming up

Source: polygon.com

Hello everyone,

looks like Wargaming is going to have even more competition, even though it is covering different vehicles. Obsidian Entertainment (the guys behind Fallout: New Vegas for example) announced its new tank MMO, called Armored Warfare.

From its description, it seems to follow the basic World of Tanks pattern (battles of tanks with support tech, such as artillery), but it will focus on modern vehicles instead. On its official page, you can sign for beta as well. Apparently, the game will also have PVE content and will run on CryEngine.
