Tank Inspector going live!

Hello everyone,

today, on 11:00 CET, the Tank Inspector is officially launched. Here’s a message for you from its creators, the Smellyriver studio (China):

Hi,

This is Smellyriver studio. One month ago, we announced the project we had been working on for several months: the Tank Inspector. This is a utility program for World of Tanks, which literally allows you to inspect tank models and stats in this popular online game.

During the past month, we gave out totally 1,000 invite codes to people who is interested in our project, 746 of them had participated in our beta-test. Many helps – bug reports, advices, propagations and even donations are kindly provided by these testers. With all their support, we had most known bugs fixed and all the major functionalities improved, as well as our service stability tested and overall details enriched. Along with that, we have even more supporters who did not received an invite code, however still encouraging us to keep running towards our goal.

Our sincere appreciations to all of you. And a special thank to SS and FTR for introducing it to everyone.

Today, we are delighted to announce that we are bringing a quality release to share with everyone – it’s free with no invite code required. Here are the primary features of it:

Merry Christmas!

Hello everyone,

I’m going to be brief. I know that every nation has it different, but since we Czechs celebrate the Christmas eve today, let me wish you all, dear readers, merry Christmas and all the best in the upcoming year, lots of kills, few losses and as few tomatoes in battles as possible.

And as for you, Wargaming, I wish you as few fails as possible and many more new players (so SerB can finally get rid of his Moskvich, Storm can get more new sweaters and Big Boss Kislyi… well, a few new buildings on Cyprus or something). You made an excellent game. Thank you.

Just in case you didn’t notice, the EU mission for 2x crew XP works normally now, took only half a day to fix :)

RIP Michail Kalashnikov

- Q: “Why is the way radio works in game unrealistic?” A: “Because burning gasoline is not gushing from your screen either”
- the way radios work won’t be changed
- RhB WT rear turret armor is zero – a player was complaining about some low damage hit, SerB: “How terrible”
- the fact Intuition perk can be triggered by switching shell types before the battle begins is fine: “It doesn’t hurt anyone”
- Q: “Why can’t I get more ignore list slots for 100 idiots?” A (SerB): “Tell me, who are those 99 idiots (apart from you of course) you are talking about?”

Statistics of all the tanks using the “new method”

Hello everyone,

regarding the “new method” post, Russian player Ivanerr prepared a list of all the tanks and their statistics. It can be downloaded here:

http://ivanerr.ru/lt/images/two_years.zip

Please note that this list only uses data from players, who created their account either in 2012 or 2013. Data from ALL the accounts (very long span, including for example such old things as a pre-nerf IS-7) can be found here:

WG EU fail: no double crew XP

Hello everyone,

some of you might have already noticed this (thanks to those who did let me know). From today to 26.12., we are supposed to get 2x crew XP bonus. It however is not working.

I tested it myself. My Japanese commader did require 878 XP to level up (sadly I did not take a screenshot) of that. And when I played a battle:

shot_002

A 207 point victory (I got oneshotted in the beginning) and 671 XP required. No double bonus.

Hall of Shame aftermath – I’m gonna get sued!

Hello everyone,

sometimes, it just gets better AFTER the post is already published. Yesterday, in Hall of Shame, I published the rage of the following moron:

Obrazek

(“Die slowly and in pain fucking Polish”)

And guess what I found today in my EU account (Erenjager) mailbox:

untitled

“Hello, I am requesting you to pull down my name from your post, where you slander me. I do not wish you to publish anything without my consent. If you don’t do it, I will be forced to take legal steps and bring it in front of a court, I also don’t wish to become a target of further mockery by publishing this message. In case you don’t know what I am talking about, here -> *link to Hall of Shame*. I thank you in advance for your compliance. With kind regards, sranda27″

For such a letter there is but one answer:

How terrible…

Hall of Shame

Hello everyone,

welcome to this year’s last Hall of Shame, where worst morons and trolls are publicly shamed. I was looking for new info on WoT, but there is literally nothing new today, so I decided to clean up by “Hall of Shame” folder. And this time, there are PLENTY of candidates. I also have two bonuses for you: first is my personal archive of ragers, second is from one BIA player, who submitted the rages and rants (partially in Czech). Let’s start with something light, some very angry Germans:

About the new method of evaluating tank performance

Hello everyone,

this post will be a bit complicated, so bear with me. Basically, a couple of Russian players came up with a new method of measuring whether a tank is overpowered or not (or even underpowered) than classic winrate with some sort of threshold. In the beginning, there was the post by Makkad. This player (LJ) referred to the recent Storm statement that T57 Heavy dropped significantly in winrate and thus doesn’t need to be nerfed. Makkad points out that it practically took a year of being OP to drop to reasonable levels:

3945592

A year to discover whether a tank is OP or not based on balance alone is of course too long a period. What is needed is an indicator, that would show the tank OP factor directly after two or three weeeks. In the following part of the post, Makkad proves the fact that such an indicator can indeed exist.

What made me giggle…

So, I was just lurking the EU forums to troll and cause trouble looking for interesting info and ran across this Polish thread. In it, there was a Polish translation of today’s article with the Veider interview from one Polish blog, that is translating FTR stuff (how well, that is not for me to judge, but I prefer Dom1n, who has done a great job so far and in fact I look up his blog for info from time to time).

Well, no problem so far, but considering the blog is practically a 1:1 copy of FTR news in Polish, one thing made me giggle – the one and only comment under this post on his blog:

jasy

Translated (Google helped):

Hi :)
Many thanks for the information “in a nutshell”. Professionally presented news about the latest updates to World of Tanks :)
Fantastic blog! :)
Yours.

Thanks, mate, much appreciated :D
