Check out the newest Chieftain’s Hatch, guys – deicated to the 75mm/76mm Sherman

Also, for those of you interested in Clan stuff, check out this site called wotclans.net, that shows Clan rating and other stuff.

And there is also Listy’s new article from the Great War…

- 8.8 will bring an interesting feature: players, who lose the battle, but get one of the medals or achievements in the game (you know, sniper, steel wall and all those others) will get the same amout of credits and XP, as if he won!
- according to The_Chieftain, there might be a second Stalin-style “affair” incoming next week:
Q: “The whole Stalin rage came from one incident, raged for a few days, got largely doused by three days of free premium account and unless somehow rekindled (and WG would have to be braindead to poke in this again), it’s not going to reappear on any large scale.”
A: “Yeah, about that…. I think they’re going to poke again next week.”

- there will be no compensations for VK3001H owners, when it goes down a tier
- Object 430 was not scrapped, only delayed
- there will possibly be a third (yet unannounced) Soviet medium branch, of which the Object 140 will be the top tank, this branch will consist of vehicles designed in Omsk (SS: the original branch is “Nizhny Tagil” branch, the 8.8 one is “Kharkov” branch)
- tier 9 of this new branch might be a version of T-54, designated “Object 139″ (which was a prototype of Object 140)
- the anniversary hangar warships looming on the horizon are a little “hi!” from WoWs developers (SS: the second from the right is allegedly Yamato)
- Object 263 drowning too soon (as soon as the water reaches the tracks)? “How terrible…”

That’s it for now. There will be more in the afternoon I think.

8.8.2013

- confirmed: RU second medium branch will start from T-34 and end with T-54, Object 140 will be a tier 10, unlockable from T-54, Object 430 and the other T9 tank will come later
- penetration reduction with distance is set for each shell individually
- both shells for VK3601 Konisch gun are basically historically subcaliber SerB states that both have subcaliber normalisation, as far as he remembers

So, it looks like the Stalin issue is the Rage of the Week on EU forums. Hmm… there should be an official announcement in the afternoon on WG EU portal. The feedback on RU server on this decision is overwhelmingly positive, with RU players mostly going like “hahaha suck that Europe” – plus making a lot of anti-Polish jokes

- tanks with ATGM’s? “I’ll say it like this, if this comes, it will be in another game”
- AA tanks with machineguns are not planned for now, SerB actually states the amount of shells from them might crash the servers
- the T-34-3 is armed with a 122mm gun – for now (SS: there have been several reports of this gun being changed, presumably to some D-10T clone)

On FTR issues, please read!

PLEASE READ

Hello, dear readers

there are a couple of issues with FTR I’d like to adress as a reaction of several e-mails I recieved recently. First, this week, I will have an unexpected vacation, so you can expect a bit more content than usual. At least if I will try. On to more serious issues however:

- several readers have reported they cannot access FTR properly. Curiously, they all were Americans and I THINK that it had something to do with Telia. No idea what happened, but it should work now. If you have problems with reading FTR, please let me know in comments

- regarding EnsignExpendable and the comment “shitstorm” under one of the recent articles: EnsignExpendable’s knowledge of Soviet war effort, vehicles and history is extremely impressive and I am really glad I have him writing on FTR occassionally. If you don’t like his articles, please – feel free not to read them. I’d like to ask you however to keep it civil in the comment section: I promised in the beginning I won’t censor the comments – and I don’t censor them, but some of the comments from last month (not necesserily under the EE articles) were over the borders and I got so pissed I actually banned two people. I unbanned them after an hour or so, when I cooled down, but seriously, don’t do that stuff. Thanks.

In the future, I will adress more tank myths, such as the notorious “Shermans burned all the time”,or the “Secrets of American TD doctrine”. Don’t worry, no bias here (funnily enough, I recieved a bunch of e-mails about me being anti-German or whatever, while only a few months back, I did recieve two e-mails that I am in fact a nazi, because I write about Axis tanks and history and my nickname shortcut is SS).

- feel free to whisper me in game, but please, I don’t do platoons. Thanks for all the offers, I very much appreciate them, but I really just prefer to solo, unless I know that person really well. If some you watched the Circon’s stream where I was a guest, you might understand why.

And, last but not least

I understand the ads are possibly annoying and I’d like to thank those of you, who aren’t blocking them. It’s a huge help and much appreciated. I’d also like to specifically ask once again all those, who donated in the past (and those who still intend to, if there are any such folks here) :) I can buy some coffee from that – and I do drink a LOT of coffee, more coffee = more creativity in my case :)

Seriously though, any support, if only a short e-mail, is much appreciated. Thank you.

Official Russian FAQ

Source: RU thread

Hello everyone,

here is a translation (or more like, summary) of the official Russian developer FAQ. This info is official, it’s not my summary of developer post. This FAQ was created by developers themselves. Why EU server has no such thing, I have no idea, but I will be replacing my FTR FAQ with this. Please keep in mind, that this is NOT a regular Q&A, more like a sum of info, but there is some new/less known stuff, so you’d do well to go thru it.

I will regularily check for updates too.

- looks like Russian players playing on EU server want the “Stalin” inscriptions back. SerB reacts: “Write an appeal to the appropriate office, that’ll be more useful.
- WoT is influenced by real life politics too: for example in China, it’s forbidden to use real map on CW map
- it’s possible that when roaming is implemented, the chat will be disabled for the roaming players (SS: in order not to promote tension between players, spam etc.) – “measures against excesses from both sides will be taken”

Listy wrote a new article about… tanks with rockets, yes please :)

- In connection with making the Panthers more realistic:French Maybach engines changed to historical parameters? “If needed”
- SerB states that you will get the same results, whether you play WoWp with mouse/keyboard or joystick – this was planned (SS: as in, no advantage for joystick users)
- when using roaming, it won’t be possible to buy a tank (SS: for example with discount) from another server
- SerB states that various “Stalin” inscriptions (that were removed from EU server) were historical
- European office can do what the main Minsk office allows it (delegates the authority). SerB thinks that by removing the Stalin inscriptions, they have overstepped their authority, but won’t make a problem out of such a small thing
- new things purchaseable for gold in the future? “Only such things, that won’t directly impact effectiveness in combat”
- World of Tanks Blitz requirements? “Will tell when the time is right”
- when the battle ends, the tracks (and apparently gun too) module repair costs count for 0 (SS: as in, tracks get repaired automatically for free)
- SerB would like to make a full Soviet scout branch, but he states that unfortunately there is no possibility to do that
- the (dark) anniversary hangar has nothing to do with night battles
- apparently, the news that the players will be able to disable the chat completely were wrong, as it (according to SerB) breaks the teamplay
