Lešany 2014 Photos

Hello everyone,

Martintramvajak recently visited the well-known Czech army event at the military museum at Lešany. I wasn’t there, so I couldn’t take any photos, but luckily, he did. Here they are. This time, I think it’s not needed to add any descriptions – see how many vehicles will you guess :) There will also be a second part (with description) of some other goodies, that can be found over there…

What Just Made Me Smile (WG EU Employee Harrassing FTR)

Hello everyone,

Life is made good by the little things, that make you smile. This is one of them. So, today, I posted the news about the Wargaming EU moving to the different office. In the end, I had a little childish jab at WG EU once again – you know me. But one of the first comments made me pause:

Wow. Such hostility. Chill, man! Since such people are not TOO common in FTR comments, I was wondering whether it’s some hater returning to haunt this blog, maybe I know him from before. Decided to look at this commenter closer.

Alright, someone new then. And logged with his gmail no less, which means that is his e-mail (you have to have access to it to use it to log in to FTR). The IP leads to France – at this point it started getting interesting. On a hunch, I googled the gmail address “Vojta.ov@gmail.com” and…

Hi, Ellendway (EU Czech community organizer!)

A bit of advice: if you want to troll, don’t use your personal gmail address to log in.

Busted. So, this is what WG EU staff does in their spare time (I hope…)? Spam FTR?

This is WG EU’s new building for 171 employees. The original building at first had cca 50 people, but their count has tripled ever since.

“We built this family as closely as we could. We like to work with each other and we’re convinced that liking the people you work with is key to the future the company and for the motivation of everybody in the long term,” said Wargaming director of EMEA and NA Frédéric Menou. “We believe that being on the same floor and seeing each other every day, and having a mingling area where people can talk to each other and play pool helps a lot. And the door to my office is always open.”

World of Tanks to feature Fury-related Content

Source: http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/06/10/fury-first-footage-at-world-of-tanks-e3-panel

Hello everyone,

at the E3 expo, new footage of the upcoming movie “Fury” was shown at the Wargaming stand. It was also announced that World of Tanks would feature special content, tied to the movie’s release.

About the movie (from IGN):

In Fury, it is April, 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theatre, a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy (Brad Pitt) commands a Sherman tank and her five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered and outgunned, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.

According to American Wargaming military specialist, The_Chieftain, the movie looks very, very promising, because it features grit and historical realism on a scale, unusual for Hollywood. If I recall correctly, he provided some of the historical information on the movie as well, so it might be actually a pretty good movie.

E3 Stream Update

I gave up.

The event is nice enough I guess but the amount of WG PR stuff… nah, not worth it. The spam in the chat is terrible and the new “reward system” (instead of codes, WG staff on the chat randomly says a codeword and if you write it you have a chance to win a prize) practically forces you to watch the chat instead of the stream, which is stupid (but then, 99 percent of people seem to have come in to beg for Type 59 instead of watching the stream).

In other words, don’t expect any codes to appear here.

There was some sort of quasi QA with some guys I hever heard about, from which I could gather the following info:

Warplanes

- WoWp will be in CW (unknown ETA)
- cockpit mode – “I doubt it”
- future: new modes (“creative awesome game modes”), tons of new aircraft

Tanks

- PC: weather effects? bla bla bla maybe in the future
- WGL Warsaw brought more support to e-sports
- Stronghold “in next two patches or something”
- premium tanks are not OP, they are balanced at middle level of their tier
- more historical battles are coming
- couple of more tank content updates, independent suspension, Havok

As you can see, practically nothing new. If you are going to watch from now on – good luck and stronk nerves, you’re gonna need them. Personally, I don’t think even Type 59 is worth watching that chat spam.
