- Q: “Why is it possible to actually destroy a tank by shooting it in its commander’s copula?” A: “It’s possible to destroy a tank by a shell penetration, by the penetration of shell fragments or by fragments of its own armor in the area behind armor. Commander’s copula provides direct access for the shells and their fragments to the area behind armor. So the logic is there. It’s like to complain that a house is also accessible via chimney, not just via door. It’s possible – not easy, bot possible”.
- regarding the above question, when asked how come parts that do not provide such access (such as AC48 rangefinder) do cause vehicle damage too: “Well, the tracks don’t repair in real life 6 seconds either, in real life the barrel can bend when crashing into trees… you know what I mean”

Wargaming kicks out Polish ESL team and replaces it with Russians

Source: http://forum.worldoftanks.eu/index.php?/topic/322652-is-esl-go4wot-tournament-only-for-russians/

Hello everyone,

okay, this is a bit weird. A lot weird in fact. Now, I am not a cyberspors expert, so I am not really familiar with all the rules and their interpretations, but even to someone like me, kicking out an approved ESL team sounds fishy at best. And that’s what apparently happened. A case of corruption in ESL league?

As Kopi21PL posted:

In the Go4WOT ESL cup 137, Virtus PRO (Russian team) was disqualified in its fight against Virtuti Militari_7team (apparently for non-attendance):

PaK 43 L/71 88mm autoloader

Source: Yuri Pasholok’s blog, Daigensui

Hello everyone,

now, we know there was a plan to introduce an autoloader into the Tiger II (there are actually some indications that the Czechoslovaks did so after the war, but that was a different gun and a different autoloader – 75mm KwK 44 in case you are wondering). Superheavy Japanese tanks

Author: SoukouDragon

jap1

Probably the most famous Japanese heavy tank is the O-I, a 120 ton multi-turreted gargantuan monstrosity. There is something appealing to it to say the least. But maybe it was actually 140 tons. There reflects the difficulty about this tank.

To get started, I find it might be helpful to draw out the full extent of Japanese heavies. It could help put things in perspective. So real quickly, here is a list of all Japanese heavy tanks possible for WoT with a few handy facts for each. All are multi turreted except for the noted Heavy X which I do not know anything about. Armor is listed in a front/side/rear format if the numbers are available. Otherwise just the maximum armor is given. The 100 ton and the O-I will be discussed afterwards.

- matchmaker does not take into account whether a vehicle is stock or elite (SS: apart from the “first few battles you get better MM” rule)
- according to developers, there has been some mistake earlier in explaining the viewrange, so – this is how it is: a damaged viewport (yellow) still gives you 100 percent viewrange, red viewport gives you 50 percent viewrange
- the difference between a yellow and white (undamaged) viewport is only the number of its hitpoint remaining and – indirectly – its vulnerability, since next hit might knock it out completely

WG EU fail: beware, clan logo changes apparently not functional

Hello everyone,

a player (with name withheld) posted this issue. Apparently, there is a problem with clan logo changes. He tried to change his 6 days ago unsuccessfully and reported the issue to WG EU support. The answer from the support was following:

Thank you for coming back to us with this information. Shortly after giving you my previous answer, we were informed that a bug is indeed on-going regarding the clan logo updates and we are currently working on solving it. For now, please refrain from uploading any new logos as the currently set ones should appear once the issue is solved.
We are sorry for the inconvenience and wish you the best of luck on the battlefield.
Kind regards,

Miguel Adaephon Delat
EU Customer Service Team

So, guys, if you think of changing your clan logos, you might want to wait for a while.
