Straight Outta Supertest: Panther mit 8,8 L/71

Source: VK Wotleaks community

Hello everyone,

this is the upcoming tier 8 German premium tank. Basically, it’s exactly what the name suggests – Panther with Schmalturm and 88mm L/71. The description reads:

The work on modifying the “Panther” in order to carry the new turret type (“Schmalturm”) began already in Spring 1944. In order to differentiate it from the previous model, it recieved the Panther Ausf.F designation. On 23.1.1945, colonel Holzhauer reported on the development of the installation of the 88mm King Tiger gun in the modified version of that turret. Even though a significant number of the hulls was produced, the turret remained in the wooden mock-up stage.

- Q: “New 9.3 hangar interface was made for premium hangar, that’s obvious” A: “Thanks, funny.”
- the punishment system for suiciders will be disabled for now. Wargaming did not manage to make it working correctly in cases such as this:

- HD models of T-34 and T-34/85 tanks were made by different people, Storm states that the hulls are not historically identical anyway
- Storm states that when it comes to modelling WoT tanks, there are practically no parts, that would be identical on more than one tank – such is only the case of such parts as roadwheels, boxes and fuel tanks
- there is no plan to allow players set the level of “rust” of their tanks, as it is in War Thunder
- IS-7 will remain as rusty as it is in 9.3 test
- there is currently a bug in 9.3 test where the thickness of the KV-85 100mm and 122mm barrels is the same. It will be fixed.

No Golden Joystick For WoT This Year

Thanks to Schorai for this one.

Hello everyone,

if you were looking for yet another round of free stuff and insane discounts victory of Wargaming in the Golden Joystick competition, I have some bad news for you.

This year, World of Tanks is not participating in the competition. Wargaming has three horses in the game:

- Best Online Game category – World of Tanks for Xbox
- Best Online Game category – World of Warplanes
- Best Mobile Game category – World of Tanks Blitz

As both non-PC games have only a fraction of World of Tanks playerbase and neither has a shared account with WoT, I would not expect anything. Also, World of Warplanes is a complete failure, if it wins, well… I guess we’ll know that the poll is about as objective as the Nobel peace prize.

You can visit the site for category nominations to see, whether anyone is worthy of your vote. Well, there is War Thunder, but… :)

New “Ambience” – Explosions

Source: http://forum.worldoftanks.asia/

Hello everyone,

well, here’s a surprising peice of information and – if it’s true – one of the most retarded World of Tanks ideas I have ever seen. Remember this video?

Let me give you a hint. It was posted here as a possible display of “artillery” consumable for Stronghold. That apparently is however not the case. Apparently, according to the post made by a WG moderator, someone had this brilliant idea to make these explosions and ambient effect (only graphics, doing no damage) on following maps: Abbey, Hidden Village, Malinovka, Mines, Fiery Salient (reworked Prokhorovka).

Because, you know, we really need more explosions on the map as an effect, lowering player FPS and confusing players – someone shooting at you while you drive through this shit? Good luck finding where is the fire coming from. Or seeing anything. Brilliant, brilliant idea… ugh. Can we have something useful instead, please?

Tank Grote

Hello everyone,

let us take a trip way, way back to the history of World of Tanks, when one particular vehicle (under the TG designation) was considered for a premium tank position.

This was the mid-2012 or so and, as you can imagine, the tree concept looked quite different back then. In any case, a model of this vehicle was made, but unfortunately, the tank was never released – and if I tell you the vehicle in real life had two main guns, I am sure you can figure out why. That’s right, multiturret support (or, rather, lack of it). Nevertheless, let’s have a look at this interesting machine.

In the early 30′s, the Soviets felt the need to improve their armored forces to incorporate modern vehicles. Attempts were made to design and build such a vehicle at home, but unfortunately, the lack of experience in such an endeavour proved to be a critical. In order to succeed, it was felt that foreign experts had to be involved and so, Soviet Union to Germany.

The Black Brigade – Part 3

Part 1: http://ftr.wot-news.com/2014/09/05/the-black-brigade-part-1/
Part 2: http://ftr.wot-news.com/2014/09/09/the-black-brigade-part-2/

Continuing from part 2…

In late evening hours of 16.6.1940, the brigade started its assault on the town of Montbard. They managed to catch the Germans by surprise and as a result, German losses were quite high. The resistance however gradually stiffened and the brigade did not manage to capture the bridge over the Burgundy channel. The Germans started in turn counterattacking in force and Polish losses mounted, forcing General Maczek to withdraw his forces from the town and to look for another way over the channel, south of Montbard. His goal was to get his unit across Loire, regroup and to join the defense of Paris. His recon forces however found out that not only is every bridge captured by the Germans, but that his forces are practically surrounded.

The fighting took heavy toll on the Polish soldiers. Of the original number, only around 500 men were left. The remnants of the brigade found their way southeast to a forest near the village of Moloy (north of Dijon), where they regrouped. Faced with critical lack of fuel and ammunition, Maczek ordered all of the remaining heavy equipment and cars of the brigade destroyed, seeing the only chance to break through the Germans in stealthy approach. It soon was discovered that a cohesive large column was too vulnerable and attracted German forces. Maczek therefore decided to split the unit in many small groups, effectively disbanding it as a fighting body. Small groups of soldiers were then ordered to try to find or fight their way to the unoccupied regions of France.

New Fury Trailer

Hello everyone,

new Fury trailer appeared on the Sony Youtube channel – thanks to Dom1n for linking it to me. It’s okay I guess, but why does it look like fucking Star Wars, what’s with the blaster tracers and all?

9.9.2014

- Q: “What are the advantages of the T-54 Light? It has none compared to other vehicles!” A (SerB): “Don’t want to play it? Don’t play it. Better whine some more instead, for practice.”
- Q: “Will the D-10-85 gun, that was planned to be installed on SU-85, be added to other vehicles than LTTB?” A: “If needed.”
- Object 430 accuracy was decreased to 0,38 “to make it different from other Soviet tier 10 mediums”
- very slow tanks that sometimes have no activity due to their slow speed (like the US T95 GMC) will not suffer from the “anti-AFK” system – developers do keep them in mind when designing the system
- Chaffee and MT-25 gold camouflage will not be compensated (transferred to other vehicles) now that they won’t be the top light tanks of their nation anymore
- no tank in the game is balanced with players using only gold ammo on Wargaming’s mind
- Q: “Will you add medals for killing people with ricocheted shells?” A: “You think there are too few medals in the game still? :)”
- it’s possible that in the future, engine fires will be extinguished by driving the tank into the water, no ETA
- more tanks will have their engine/transmission split implemented in one of the upcoming patches
- new dynamic tracks (as shown in 9.3 test) are still work in progress, they have many bugs
- roadwheels of the Tiger in 9.3 test are not bugged
- Storm states that the new HD models turned out much better than the ones that were made for 9.0, for example he thinks welds are looking pretty good. IS-7 is an exception – that model is bugged – low LOD gun barrel is displayed instead.
