SU-76I Being Sold On RU Server

Hello everyone,

you probably know of the SU-85I, right? I mean, it’s been released some time ago. But now, without any fuss, Wargaming is releasing the SU-76I premium tank destroyer (tier 3). As far as I can tell, it’s available only on Russian server (in SD, of course). Uncharacteristically for Wargaming, the vehicle is available “just so”, without some crappy bundle noone wants, for 5,2 USD (yes, five dollars). This is how it looks (courtesy of wot-news):

“Secret” Tank in Halloween Garage

Hello everyone,

thanks to Mattbrix02 for this one. Now, Mattbrix is using Aslain’s mod, that permanently enables the tank silhouette, no matter whether the target is behind an obstacle or not. In my opinion this mod is not that useful, but whatever. When looking at the Halloween garage, he noticed a strange thing: there seems to be an unknown tank buried under the Halloween hangar. It can be noticed because of the said mod (its silhouette is visible). Hmm, I wonder what kind of tank it is…

So, Who Wants to Buy a Tiger?

Thanks to Duarte H. for this one.

Would you want to buy a Tiger? Or a replica, anyway. Here’s your chance! These gentlemen have made a replica and are selling it for “meager” sum of 380k Euros. The vehicle is powered by a Russian YaMZ-238 240hp engine (alternatively, a more powerful V-2 can be built in), has a working electrically-driven turret and comes with spare part. The gun can fire pyrotechnics to simulate real gunfire. It took 9 months to build.

Free 1000 Gold (EU, US Server)

Source: http://forum.worldoftanks.eu/index.php?/topic/444330-1k-free-gold/

Hello everyone,

want free 1000 gold? Well, I guess so, but you know everything comes with a price tag. Basically, you have to download random crap you don’t need Overwolf software to your computer.

Here’s how to do it, courtesy of Vonnis (EU forums):

- Go to http://www.overwolf.com/ , download the program and register (you can use a Mailinator address for this if you want), and start up Overwolf.
- Open WoT and log into your account.
- Move your mouse to the left to open the Overwolf overlay, click the colourful icon that says Appstore, then go to Games => Giveaways => WoT giveaway.
- A countdown will now start. Leave WoT running for an hour, and you’ll get a bonus code. Redeem it on WoT portal.

The fact this is legit was confirmed by WG staff. I think I’ll pass, but if you want “free” 1k gold, go ahead.

T43 Heavy Tank

Hello everyone,

yesterday, in the article about Object 777 Soviet heavy tank, an American tank was mentioned, the T43. The Soviets feared it and considered it on par with their best mass-produced heavy tank at that point, the T-10. So, what was the T43 actually?

tank_t43_zd_418

Well, as you might have guessed from the picture, it was the designation of the M103 prototype. Its history is rather well-described: in 1946, the War Department Equipment Review Board, led by Joseph W.Stilwell initiated a program with the goal to re-arm the US Army with a new type of tank. New light, medium and heavy tanks were proposed (on the other hand, the tank destroyer program was cancelled altogether). Especially the heavy tanks were under scrutiny, with the T34 120mm gun tank proving to be perhaps the most promising of them all after some extensive testing at Aberdeen Proving Grounds. It was however too heavy, 10 tons heavier than what the board demanded.

3.11.2014

Hello everyone,

patch 9.4 is coming out on RU server today (in the night) or early tomorrow , so we can expect EU patch this week as well, likely on Wednesday.

- Q: “Why is Wargaming against introducing new matchmaker?” (SS: I think the player means skill MM, unclear) A (SerB): “There were already two ‘new matchmakers’. How many more there will be is not known for now. But they will not be designed by players.”
- SU-122-44 will not get preferential MM
- Storm apparently liked the Fury movie
- Storm states that the tank textures will not be in the future in such a resolution as from 9.0 onwards (HD models), but the resolution will be higher than pre-9.0
- according to Storm, the HD models from 9.2 onwards are of higher quality than the War Thunder ones
- Storm, when asked, where exactly is the “sufficient armor” of the Lowe: “Gun mantlet.”

9.4 WG Preview

Hello everyone,

from the official RU Youtube channel, the preview for 9.4, for now only in Russian.

Inside:

- new team battles (changed the format to 7/54 (5xT8 and 2xT7 or 6xT8 and 1xT6), the attack/defense mode (the defender has to protect two bases instead of one, capturing both bases does not sum up, both bases are capped separately, can be capped at the same time, it’s enough to cap one base))
- new Stronghold options (can be unlocked up to tier 5, there will be a special video about that)
- Stalingrad map (destroyed wartime city)
- buff of T-34-3 (14,4s to 13,4s reload, reduced (buffed) the accuracy loss when turning the turret by 25 percent) and AT-15A (hitpoints buff to 1050, reduced MM)

And that’s all.

AMX-13 – Possibly Upcoming Armor Changes

Hello everyone,

yesterday, as you probably noticed, a new premium French vehicle (AMX-13/57) was leaked. It’s basically the same old AMX-13, only equipped with a very long AMX-13/57 cannon. There is actually very little information about the gun and the vehicle itself and it’s reasonable to assume that Wargaming simply “guessed” the gun values – the same, however, cannot be said about the AMX-13 armor.

With the introduction of the HD AMX-13/57 model, we can have a first look at how the AMX-13 armor will change in the game, when both the AMX-13/75 and the AMX-13/90 get reworked to HD. This is not just a speculation, as even though the AMX-13/57 hull is the early variant, the armor schematics for the later hulls are the same and thus, it’s reasonable to assume the armor of the AMX-13 tanks will be reworked to resemble the AMX-13/57 in HD. The turret might differ, there I am not quite sure.

Object 777 – Soviet Heavy Tank

Hello everyone,

today, we are going to have a detailed look at the Soviet heavy tank, Object 777.

777

In the first half of the 50′s, Soviet tank design bureaus were working on creating a new generation of heavy tanks, the best known of which would later become the T-10 (IS-8). There were however other projects as well – better and more powerful. The boom of the heavy tank design in the early 50′s was heavily influenced by the fact, that (according to Soviet data, anyway) the Americans were building armored vehicles en masse and were preparing new very powerful projects of both medium and heavy tanks (here, the Soviet sources list the “T43 heavy tank” as “matching the T-10 in power”).

7773

The first proposals for the new tank were sent to the Ministry of Transport and Heavy Machinery in June 1953, describing project variants of several heavy tanks, weighing from 46 to 50 tons. During the drawing creation, these recieved the designation of Object 752 and Object 777 (the latter being the object of this article). These drawings included more powerful guns (the 122mm M62-T2 for example), new hull and turret designs, as well as suspension (using hydraulics or individual torsion bars).
