Hello everyone,
tired of T-54 clones? Okay, here’s a T-34 clone instead *trollface*
An upcoming tier 6 Soviet premium medium tank. The description reads:
Modification of the T-34-85 tank, created by the Factory No.183. It differed from the original tank by its improved frontal armor (at the expense of reducing the armor of the rear part) and fuel tanks, moved from the combat compartment to the rear. Only one prototype was created, as the suspension proved to be unreliable.
As the description suggests, it’s basically a T-34/85 with more armor. It is equipped with 85mm S-53 gun and has following (preliminary!) characteristics.
Penetration: 126/167/43
Damage: 160/160/280
DPM: 2002,2
Reload time: 4,795
Accuracy: 0,4
Aim time: 2,5
Depression: -5
Hitpoints: 740
Engine: 500hp
Weight: 32,23 tons
Hp/t: 15,51
Hull turnrate: 40
Viewrange: 350
I did some very preliminary comparison and it seems to be simply a stock T-34/85 (with second gun, stock engine, stock turret) with thick frontal armor. Oddly enough it is actually lighter than the original T-34/85 of the same ingame configuration, but has a bit worse terrain passability. The S-53 gun is buffed compared to stock T-34/85 (better aimtime) and has better DPM. But that’s all just preliminary.
Please note that it is unknown whether this will be a regular premium or some sort of mission/CW reward.

In case you don’t really like the “cool” hangar with a bomber going through walls – here’s how to change it back to the regular one. Unpack the following archives to res_mods\0.9.2 folder.
To return the modified hangar, go to res_mods\0.9.2\spaces and rename or copy the folder to “hangar_premium_WG_Bday”, for example “hangar_v2″ into “hangar_premium_WG_Bday”.
Thanks to Listy for this one!
That’s a really nice anniversary hangar you got there!

Being Israeli residents that also play World of Tanks, and have wide interest in military history in general, quickly enough led us to go to the nearest place where we could see as much tanks as we could.
No, not Gaza Strip.
We went to the tank museum in Latrun instead. We have been there before, but we wanted to know more, learn something new and interesting, so we contacted the museum to ask for a VIP tour. We told them we play a tank game on the computer, and got connected to the whole subject of tanks. After a few days, we received a call from Michael Mass, the vice-manager of the association that runs the museum. He was brief: “The answer is yes. You wrote a serious request, and I’ll be more than happy to fulfill your curiosity.” Here is the place to say, that the date was set in the beginning of June, and in no way is connected to the currently going fighting in Gaza and southern Israel. Though, we did have to run to the shelter once during our visit.
Anyway, here is a “short” summary of the interesting information we have gathered there, expanded with some historically relevant information we were directed to, from Wikipedia in Hebrew.
The Museum
View of the Latrun police building and the memorial wall from one of the tanks on display. The Sherman on the tower that became the recognition sign of the museum can be seen on the right.

So, this is an ad, intended for the Discovery Channel, it was recently linked on Challenger’s channel. Somehow, I think it sums up the company really well:
- “historically accurate” – WT E-100 says hi
- “sense of authenticity” – tanks stopping on the spot, jumping over one another, stuff from 60′s fighting Maus, very authentic
- “perfect detail” – yes, especially the non-HD models (95 percent of them)
- “you can’t win this game alone” – but unfortunately for you, it is infested with bots and noobs, so good luck
- “gameplay is tough” – the arty one in particular (one click wonder)
- “your mission just got more exciting, more dynamic” – yep, 10 minute El Halluf campfest or Komarin, very exciting
- “new high definition maps” – there aren’t any HD maps!
- “new historical battle modes” – there was one and it just got cancelled!
- “seriously intense battles” – in World of Advertisement, there is no camping
- “who’s gonna make the first move” – noone, everyone’s camping
- “be strategic, get in the mind of enemy” – they will move first, let’s camp!
This ad made me cringe and laugh at the same time. Wargaming, you can really do better than this…
On the positive side, I like how the King guy looks kinda badass like a trucker/biker/redneck, needs a Confederate flag though.

Hello everyone,
in 0.9.3, M5 Stuart will be reworked to HD. It will also be changed – it will lose the 75mm howitzer and the open top turret (unhistorical combo), instead, it will have a 37mm autoloaded gun, called T16.
Characteristics on supertest (with the 37mm autoloaded gun, elite configuration):
37mm T16
Penetration: 56/78/19 (same as the 37mm M6)
Damage: 40/40/50
DPM: 1190
Shells in clip: 5
Reload time between shells in clip: 0,674s
Reload time of magazine: 7,384s
Accuracy: 0,42
Aimtime: 1,7s
Depression: -10
Power-to-weight: 22,96
Engine power: 350hp
Hull traverse: 42
Terrain resistance: 0,863/0,959/1,822
Hitpoints: 340
Viewrange: 360
Weight: 15,246 tons
Summary: these data are preliminary, but it looks like quite a maneuverability nerf (vehicle got heavier, traverse reduced, worse passability), the top gun is practically equal to the pre-top, just with an autoloader and cca 10 percent more DPM.

Hello, just a quick announcement. The (abovelinked) release notes have mistakes, they just copied the test 1 version and renamed it to release apparently. I noticed:
- Reload time for 12.8 cm Kanone L/61 gun for Waffenträger auf E 100 turret changed from 60s to 52s.
should be:
- Reload time for 12.8 cm Kanone L/61 gun for Waffenträger auf E 100 turret changed from 60s to 58s.
I’ll go through the post just in case, if there are other issues, I’ll post them later.
Hello everyone,
so, tomorrow, we are going to recieve the Wargaming Type 97 Te-Ke as a reward (nice to see that the yesterday’s event leak was accurate, which means the rest of it (events in entire August) likely also are).
At first glance, it looks like a solid tier 2 tank. Thanks god it doesn’t have a “spitter” machinegun, but a relatively interesting 37mm cannon. Let’s have a look at it though to see how it’s doing.
Armor
As you can see, the armor is not this vehicle’s strong side. After all, it’s a lowtier light tank, it’s not supposed to be a hulking unpenetrable fortress (unless of course it’s sold in gift editions, then it’s okay). Either way, the armor is pretty clear from the picture, not too much to tell about it. The armor is roughly comparable to other tier 2 gift tanks – the Tetrarch and T1E6, it’s a little thinner, but it hardly makes any real difference. The obvious idea would be not to shoot the well-sloped part, which in theory has decent effective armor, but the thing is, despite its good slope, it’s only 6mm thick and thus it will be triple-overmatched by pretty much everything except for the .50 cals and the 15mm BESA (and of course the 7,92mm, but that’s another story, given its penetration), so it is pretty much irrelevant. In armor, it’s the worst tank of the three, but again, on this tier it hardly matters (the slope can save you from some of the .50 cal bullets I guess). It’s worth noting that the T1E6 has worse side armor by a few milimeters.
