a lot of people are waiting for the multicore support for World of Tanks. Whether that wait is worth it is a good question, but one thing is for sure: World of Warships has it. Check this out:
This is the game working on multiple cores on the PC of one of the testers. How is that related to World of Tanks? To be quite honest, I have no idea, because WoWs is running on a very different engine from the original WoT one (it’s still based on Bigworld, but from what I heard, it has pretty much nothing in common with the old WoT version anymore). Still, it’s good news for the future WoWs players I suppose.
these days, armored warfare (without capitals) is the “hot stuff” of gaming – well, at least for a certain group of players. It was of course World of Tanks that made tanks really mainstream and popular, but that was years ago. More and more companies are attracted to that particular genre of gaming and Bandai Namco is one of them with its newly revealed game – Battleline: Steel Warfare.
As you can see, it’s some sort of strategy game with tanks. Allegedly, it will take place in a time frame from WW1 to modern era – if you go to cca 0:39 and pause the video, you’ll see that it’s actually true, they are planning to introduce all sorts of vehicles, including King Tiger and Maus, so if you are looking for historically realistic and accurate games, this is probably not the place to look.
Personally, I think the trailer looks kinda cheap and the game seems not to make much sense. I mean… it’s like Dawn of War, but with tanks? Hm. I guess I haven’t played enough of this type of games to make an educated guess, but at first sight, I do not like it:
- the models look kinda lowres
- the CGI looks really outdated
- too much crap flying all over the screen
- the explosions look really cheap
I assume it will also have destructible environment, but still, this is not a game I am going to hold my breath for.
- Storm states that when it comes to Chinese, French and Japanese tank and their rework to HD, “they are of secondary concern”
- M4A3E8 in HD will not come either in 9.4 or in 9.5
- apparently, the M4A3E8 will be “made from scratch” by some new outsourcer and will not be based on the “Fury” HD model
- “there is no info” on the KV-5 variant, that allegedly had more armor on the infamous radioman miniturret
- Panzer V/IV will not be transferred to tier 5 (it is on Xbox)
- there are no plans to allow you to re-buy a premium tank you once already had and sold back for credits
- regarding the “microrelief” rework Storm announced – it concerns various terrain irregularities up to the height of half a meter (eg. the ones within the usual clearance)
- LTTB is two times lighter than AFK Panther “due to its dimensions”
- T49 will not get a second alternative 90mm gun

Hello everyone,
1st of October in South Korea is the Armed Forces Day – basically, the Korean military sites (some of course) are open to public. This time, Wargaming participated in one such event with a stand with PC’s and all that. Additionally, Korean players could also check photographs and artefacts from the Korean War era, as well as modern battle tanks and the equipment of Korean army. And so, the smallest Wargaming cluster (Korea WoT peaks are 4000-6000 players) is doing its best to “bond” with the army of South Korea, to show the players the history of their armed forces.
Regarding the opinion on Korean community from a player, who actually plays there (Daigensui): “There are lot of problems, from occasional mistakes on WG KR’s part, constant trolling from the bigger communities like Ilbe and DC Inside, rage against bad players (heated more than other places from the competitive atmosphere), and stupid stalking and false accusations of people they don’t like, but all in all it is still a pretty tight community. While WoT in Korea might not be bigger than in Italy, the enthusiasm shown is certainly one of, if not the, best of all WoT servers. I hope that WoT still maintains a position as the one casual military game anyone can fall back on, in Korea and elsewhere.”
Aaaaaaaaaaaaand… there was also this – that’s what I call advertising done right:
so, I guess that at this point, you’ve already seen the “IS-6″ video from yesterday. If not, here it is.
Well, where to start… I mean, the video is terrible. For one, it was made on Russian server, that’s why the IS-6 in it has Russian flag decals and Russian inscriptions saying “Soviet Arctic Explorer” and “Russians don’t give up!” – I am kinda surprised they didn’t put “For Stalin!” or “For Soviet Ukraine!” on them, I am sure that would be recieved well on RU server.
The video depicts a “heroic defense” of one IS-6 against several enemy tanks, who are utter retards and can’t get rid of a single IS-6 in the open and so they rush it one by one. The vehicle is depicted as a “killer”, when in reality, despite being noob friendly thanks to its thick armor, the 122mm D-25 is more like mediocre for its tier. I mean, it’s a good tank, but not an OP death machine. The entire comedy is complemented by the awkward “radio chatter”, which is actually quite literally translated from the Russian version and sounds just weird.
Actually, it’s this chatter I mind about the entire stupid video the most.
so, today, the M24 Chaffee Sport was removed from the hangar. In case you are looking for the equipment that was on it, it’s in the depot. Of course, with Wargaming being Wargaming, we can’t have it without a fail now, can we?
The crew was removed from the vehicle as well, but it was not retrained to the original Chaffee, as originally promised. The same issue happened on Russian server. The official answer was that the crew will be retrained later on and that the players are supposed to be patient. So, if you want that Chaffee crew on your regular Chaffee, don’t spend your credits or gold just yet and wait a bit, you’ll get it retrained for free.
Ooops, it’s a regular E8 with Fury skin. If you want to drive your very own “Fury” (without actually buying it), here’s how you can do it:
- download the remodel here
- unpack the contents and copy them to res_mods/0.9.3/
- ?????
- profit!
Obviously it’s just a mod, so you will be the only person seeing the Fury skin, but still… it’s cool. Unless you are fed up with Furry everywhere like me.
in Russian archives, several new vehicles were discovered some time ago. This is one of them – the mighty Object 777 heavy tank. Unfortunately, to my knowledge, nothing was published of this monster other than it’s a heavy tank prototype from after the war and that it was to be armed with the 122mm M62 gun (ingame IS-8 top gun).
Wargaming has a complete set of data about this vehicle (unfortunately, they haven’t published anything yet) and unless it’s too OP, it’s possible we will see this tank in the game – almost certianly not as a regular vehicle, but possibly as a tier 10 reward or something. It would be a shame to leave it out, as it’s certainly one of the prettiest Soviet tanks I have ever seen.
The armor looks massive and well-sloped though, so who knows, maybe it’s too powerful for WoT. In that case – AW, here’s your tier 1 :)
- developers confirm that this T 55A armor model is correct
- T 55A armor is “almost full copy of elite T-54″, with the differences being in the rear hull and the fact it is missing second the second cupola on the roof
- T-44-85 150mm penetration sufficient for tier 7 premium? “That was with the introduction of fake shells.” (SS: heh I was wondering whether the 150mm magical Soviet shells are fake – and yea, seems so)
- T-44-85 will not be introduced as a light tank (SS: yes, someone is actually asking that)
- KV-5 is doing just fine statistically, it won’t be buffed (Storm adds: “we checked it several times”)
- Storm, reacting on the “Fury underpowered” whine: “It’s generally only a little different from the regular M4A3E8. And M4A3E8 is doing very well statistically.”
- Esc key will not be used to quit the MM queue, because it already opens the menu and the developers don’t want to screw around with existing bindings
- Sixth Sense rework will come neither in 9.4 nor in 9.5
- Storm admits that after the Sixth Sense rework, KV-5 (with its radioman) will have a problem, developers will investigate whether this has to be compensated somehow
- Storm considers Sixth Sense beneficial to game dynamics for example during active scouting and in cases when you peek out from a rock and if the bulb doesn’t light up, you are free to go
- Chinese gun depression buff? “I will not promise anything”
- +/-1 MM will not be introduced (“Definitely not for many reasons”)
- Q: “Can you introduce a mode where only vehicles of the same tier would fight 15vs15?” A: “What would be the point of sucha mode?”
- it’s not possible to “smoothen” the “microrelief” of the map only in physics and to leave it visually the same
