Ingame report system apparently works…

Hello everyone,

after reading this LJ post by geass_code, I went to check Russian forums. Since yesterday, there is a new post on Russian forums – a huge list of idiots and trolls banned, using the ingame report system – there are over 5000 names. Most were banned for “insults and provocation”, while others for example for pushing allies.

To be quite honest, I never thought much about the report system, mainly because I was sometimes behaving like an asshole (ally RhB threatening to shoot our (pretty competent) passive scout for not rushing towards the enemy – a minute later, certain Centurion “mysteriously” appears behind him just as he got spotted, blocking his retreat, leading to his untimely demise and whole lot of rage) but nothing happened to me.

But I guess it works. For those who do not know how, press and hold Ctrl in battle for the mouse cursor to appear, click (or rightclick? I can’t remember) on the person you want to report in the team list, press Complain and choose what you want to report him for. One report does not make anyone banned and there is no point in spamming reports on one player (reporting him multiple times by yourself will make the mods think you just spam and the chance for his punishment is actually lower).

8.11 Test 1 – vehicle changes

Hello everyone,

you already know about the tier 10 TD changes. So, what else changed?

Well, the biggest news probably is that according to Edrard, who was digging up XML files, all vehicles (including TD’s) lost the camo “bonus” when shooting (“invisibility factor at shot”) in test 1 – the value was simply deleted. It can be a bug or a XML glitch, but if it’s true, it effectively means that TD’s just lost their class bonus of being less visible when shooting than other classes. That’s potentially a pretty big change. Whether this is intentional or permanent is not known.

Other changes:

- Object 140′s repair costs increased by 27 percent
- SU-85i (the premium that is not out yet) apparently lost a crewmember (unclear)
- Sexton I repair costs reduced by 25 percent

24.1.2014

Just a little left

- SerB states that the teamkill/teamdamage punishment system principle is to “not ban a player after shooting an ally by accident, but a player systematically breaking rules gets banned” and adds that “a series of “random” teamdamage shots is not considered random”
- developer Yurko2F states that class bonus for tank destroyers will not be cancelled as a whole – it consists of several components and only some of the components (SS: for example, camo bonus after shooting) will be reduced. Premium tank destroyers will have no changes at all, or really small ones, so it’s too early to worry
- for now there is no final decision on T-44-85′s fate, but in general, developers don’t see removing it as a problem, because the tank was not introduced, only tested
- the T110E3 and T110E4 changes are final according to Storm
- apparently, teamkill punishments on the test server were made much stricter (a day of ban for a teamkill apparently), Storm confirms that – this change will apparently appear on live server too (“it will be in the final patchnotes”)

Storm talks about 8.11

Source: http://world-of-kwg.livejournal.com/273117.html

Hello everyone,

Storm is asking about the 8.11 test and whether you have any issues with it. From the discussion:

- it’s possible the color of the interface will be changeable (or at least be changed)
- at this moment, the priorities of tank balancing team are as follows:

1) finishing solving the TD issue
2) reviving the LT’s
3) historical battles balance
4) testing and analysing the results of various new features, such as the 720m radius render circle, reducing the visibility (bad weather), tank respawn (mentioned by SerB for historical battles)

- the points above mean that specific vehicles will be dealt with only if they significantly stand out statistically (SS: because the balancing department is busy)
