Separatists Press Another Monument into Service

Hello everyone,

another interesting case from Ukraine. Despite recent military successes (which were by no means caused by uncle Vladimir sending dozens of vehicles and volunteers… sorry, I mean vacationers over the border), it seems the separatists are not supplied as much as they would desire. Recently, they pressed yet another monument in service – this time from the town of Antracit. There was an old T-34 standing in front of the culture house (ironically, named after Lenin) and the separatist “specialists” claim they “restored” it.

Poor thing, now it will get knocked out by the first soldier with RPG it encounters. A damn shame, these venerable machines should be allowed to rest.

Wargaming Sponsors Band of Brothers Reunion

Source: http://www.warhistoryonline.com/war-articles/wargaming-becomes-official-sponsor-band-brothers-actors-reunion.html

Hello everyone,

in today’s news, Wargaming became one of the sponsors of the Band of Brothers TV series actor reunion with the participation of real WW2 veterans, who fought in Normandy. HBO TV series “Band of Brothers” became very famous after its introduction, as it historically and realistically (well, as much as it can) depicts the lives of the American soldiers throughout the war.

This reunion will take place in June to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the end of the war:

On June 5, 6 and 7, the actors that starred in HBO’s Band of Brothers will tour the Overlord Omaha Beach Museum, the Utah Beach Museum, and the Richard D. Winters Leadership Monument in Sainte-Marie-du-Mont, Normandy, France. Also joining Wargaming in their sponsorship efforts will be War History Online, one of the world’s leading provider of online military information for the 20th century.

Following actors are scheduled to appear in Normandy (name and role in the TV series):

Douglas Spain-Antonio Garcia
Scott Grimes-Don Malarkey
James Madio-Frank Perconte
Ross McCall-Joe Liebgott
Rick Gomez-George Luz
Bart Ruspoli-Ed Tipper
William Tapley-British Tank Commander
Frank John Hughes-“Wild” Bill Guarnere
Robin Laing-“Babe” Heffron
Peter Youngblood Hills-“Shifty” Powers
Eion Bailey-David Webster
George Calil-“Mo” Alley
Philip Barantini-Wayne “Skinny” Sisk
Stephen McCole-“Moose” Heyliger
Shane Taylor-”Doc” Roe
Mark Lawrence-William Dukeman

Wargaming representatives will be on the scene to meet with the actors and the veterans alike.

APFSDS Impact Effect

Thanks to whoever sent me this (sorry, at this point I have huge mess in e-mails, practically impossible to find the original one).

Uglegorsk, Ukraine.

So this is what happens, when an APFSDS shell from a tank hits a metal column. You can clearly see the impact hole the fins of the projectile made (no, this was not a RPG, that would just explode upon impact, this was a subcaliber core with fins) and the massive exit hole. Note how the path of the projectile deformed within the column, so the projectile didn’t exit directly on the opposite side.

9.2.2015

As mentioned on RU server, the patch is coming tomorrow. Also, check out the stronghold consumable post on official forum.

- Object 244 will not be a tank for free sale, but a special/event tank
- the landscape quality setting in WoT is the same for old and new render when it comes to geometry, with one exception – minimal settings. Minimal settings for old render reduce the landscape quality more than minimal settings on improved render
- Japanese tanks as a whole are doing fine statistically
- “wet ammo stowage” perk introduction (SS: VERY long time ago) was not a reaction and an attempt to fix too often ammo rack explosions in the game
- Q: “Why does adding new perks take so long?” A: “Because it takes long” (SS: yea…. no shit)

Tanitha (WG ASIA Producer) Explains IM Rigging And Punishment

Source: http://forum.worldoftanks.asia/index.php?%2Ftopic%2F51445-prohibited-exploitation-of-the-personal-mission-system%2F

Hello everyone,

Tanitha, a producer on the ASIA server, confirmed what we suspected all along: that uncovering IM rigging is a lengthy and tedious process, that’s barely functional. What he wrote:

Dear Players.

While you are free to work together with your clan, mates, country mates, friends, and team mates, you are only permitted to do so with those WITHIN YOUR OWN TEAM IN GAME.

Straight Outta Supertest: Object 244 and Mauschen Nerf

Hello everyone,

according to supertester sources, the next premium tank to appear on the supertest is Object 244, tier 6 Soviet heavy premium tank. Object 244 is this:

1303136283_tank-obekt-244

That’s right, it’s a tier 6 clone of the IS (tier 7 tank) with 85mm D-5T-85BM (the 144 pen gun) and slightly different suspension. Because, you know, this game definitely needs more pure clones…

Also, as predicted, the Mauschen got somewhat nerfed, especially:

- reload time (by 1,5s for 12,8cm and 2s for 15cm)
- aimtime
- traverse
- accuracy on the move

More details later.
