not sure you experienced it yourself, but I had a SHARP drop of FPS in 8.10 on my default settings. Had to set pretty much everything one notch lower than I ran before. Annoying.
Anyway, in case you were wondering, how the 8.10 graphic filters look – well, tbh there isn’t that much of a difference. Here are a few screenshots for various filters. Personally, I prefer to play without any filter for now.
those of you who read FTR regularily are probably familiar with Daigensui, who helped bring us the Japanese branch. What follows is the translation (by a native speaker, but the English has some typos, tried to fix as much as possible) of a Korean interview with her. Enjoy.
this is NOT a full list of visual and armor model changes (that will come later), these are only the changes, that were mentioned in the test patch notes. Here goes.
Warning: this post is very picture heavy
T69 Medium Tank – the shape of the turret side/back armor was slightly changed.
This vehicle was built by the Soviets on the captured Panzer III chassis. The turret was removed and a superstructure, carrying a 76mm S-1 gun (a modified version of F-34 gun) was added. About 200 were made.
what follows is the list of new regular tanks in 8.10 and their parameters in game. Please note that in the final release (and possibly round 2 of the test, scheduled for 12.12.2013), the color of Japanese tanks will change to green. The armor scheme posted is that of the elite version.
Important:Something urgent came up. Feedback to 8.10 (tests, screenshots and such) will be posted later than usual, I will do it in the night when I come back.
Something to read while the test installs. Not much though:
- when the turrets getting ripped off by ammorack explosions are implemented, the turrets won’t get ripped off by regular heavy shells, causing oneshots – SerB: “If we wanted to make it possible to oneshot tanks, we’d have done it a long time ago”
- first version of the 8.10 test will not have the new Japanese green color
- TAA anti-aliasing will come, soon
- Chi-Nu Kai will also be made green
- Cannoneer explains that real life STB-1 had -5/+9 depression/elevation, but in the game, it will be buffed to -10 to compensate for the fact that the vehicle won’t have hydraulic suspension
- there will be either no or very small clipping in the STB-1 model during full gun depression, the picture posted earlier that suggests there is some model clipping just looks that way
- STA-1 (tier 8) will also have -10 depression:
yesterday, I recieved a relatively large number of e-mails and FB messages from confused players, all saying the same thing: “Silentstalker, look, in the December calendar event Wargaming advertises 30 percent off the M10 Panther, when in fact the Panther bundle is only 20 percent off in the gift shop, how can that be?!”
