this post concerns mostly new WoT Czech magazine, so (as I do in exceptional cases), I will write both in Czech and in English. Obviously, the magazine is written in Czech, but what I really like about it is the simple design. Oh yea, and it’s a shameless ad too, because there’s an interview with me and because I might be contributing with historical articles there. Not sure yet tho.

Player Rasco4000 from the clan [MP] (“Misguided Pacifists”) thought it would be a great idea to try to get the Type 59 reward from the medium tank competition (running on US and EU server as well). The only problem is, he brought a few friends. Tier 10 friends. Platooned tier 10 friends. Platooned tier 10 friends on both sides of the battle…

as you know, recently in the 8.9 video and subsequent leaks, new vehicles could be spotted. There is no ETA on them and some were confirmed not to come this year at all. Still, it’s an interesting insight. The vehicles “uncovered” were T-4, T-5 Pantera, Brummbär, G1L
Furthermore, in 8.9 video, we could glimpse the British M2A4, A7 and premium Neubaufahrzeug.
Let’s have a look at them.
As with the German tanks that came before it, the Soviets gave the Panther an index derived from the German index, but with the awkward PzKpfw. V (try writing that on a Cyrillic typewriter) replaced with a much more easily palatable T-5. As with the other tanks, the index was sometimes written Type 5, T-V (or T-У, when the V character wasn’t available). The tank was also commonly known by the Russian word for Panther: Pantera (Пантера).
Following the revelation of the T-5 premium tank, this article is going to take a look at the Panther as viewed and used by the Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army during WWII.
