Patch 9.5 will be released on 22.12.2014 on EU server as well according to official WG post. Thanks to Madestcat for noticing.
9.5 Review Video
Hello everyone,
a 9.5 review video by Wargaming appeared on their Youtube channel. Unfortunately, without subtitles:
Inside:
- Firefly and TD branch (review – a few words about each vehicle, like Archer going backwards faster than forwards and 17pdr guns, that have low alpha, but good accuracy and rate of fire)
- Panther 88 (goes to the premium shop in 9.5)
- two new map – one for team battles and one for low tiers
- Severogorsk and Ruinberg on Fire removed, Winterberg added instead
- Personal missions (former Individual missions) with girl crewmembers as rewards. Here’s an example how you can select the nation, class and vehicle of one such crewmember (yes, the picture belongs to Ola). Notice the T-35 in the choices:
Unfortunately this picture does not mean T-35 will be introduced anytime soon, it’s just WG teasing with old junk again (T-35 model was made like two years ago).
- reworked shell hit effects (you can see that at cca 3:32)
- bonus XP for scout tanks for spotting damage (10 percent for each tier the vehicle you spotted is above you, 30 percent max)
- added minimap functions
20.12.2014
As predicted, it was confirmed on RU server that the patch 9.5 will come out on 22.12.2014. EU patch – either the same day, or a day later (no info on that yet). Russian server already has the “preview” video of the patch – nothing too interesting in it, nothing you haven’t read here before anyway (will look at it).
Other than that, M56 Scorpion was moved to tier 7 and rebalanced on supertest apparently. Otherwise not much today.
Artillery Guide by Tyraforce – Part 2
Silentstalker: First a little announcement. After seeing the comments under part 1, following measures will be taken not to repeat the same situation. It’s okay not to like artillery, but a) spamming b) cancer stuff, death wishes etc. c) rude comments without any merit will be deleted and their posters will be banned (the worst cases, like Woel aka CosmicSquirrel here will be added to my shitlist and treated as HoS members). Sorry, sick of the arty hate shit. Got nothing constructive to add? Then stay silent. Thanks for understanding.
Edit: as expected, turned out to be a bunch of moaning. Comments locked, some offenders banned.

First, thanks for all the feedback and suggestions concerning part 1 of this guide. I was shocked how much flame the guide started. I understand getting artied makes people angry in the game (almost as much as premium ammo) but I really didn’t expect such whining at FTR.
This TK happened just a few hours after the guide went life and it was some funny reading indeed. Big thanks to those special folks for following FTR and reading the guide. I can’t really respond to all the 328 comments you posted but I feel one controversial topic needs to be addressed in more detail,
ARTY and CAMPING
The most common argument why arty encourages camping was “When there are many SPGs on each team, people camp harder.” This was really not my point. The question all the arty-haters should ask is this: “How would WoT change if arty got removed?”
For one thing, E3, 261, IS7 and similar tanks would become very popular. Right now, they can only camp in arty-safe positions whereas without arty, any hulldown position would become a bunker full of these tanks. This would create huge kill-zones which would be painful to conquer without superb coordination. You know how painful it is now to break through certain camps. This would become much worse and would happen on more maps. Remember the arty-safe bridge camp on Pearl River where teams sat for 10min doing nothing? Would they sit there while getting artied? Can you even imagine CW? Right now every second team camps the southern base on Mountain Pass, which they consider reasonably arty-safe. Now, imagine what would happen if all the bases were arty-safe.
“Fury” in Real Life
Thanks to Mario R. for this picture.
Hello everyone,
the following picture actually shows the Sherman called “Fury” – not the movie one however, the real one. It’s from an older French publication (didn’t get the name, sorry) and it shows the M4 Sherman tank “Fury”, participating in the operation Cobra (the offensive in Normandy, following the D-Day landings) as a part of the 3rd Armored Division. Note the additional armored plates welded to the side hull and turret, protecting the tank weakspots and crewmembers.

19.12.2014
Unfortunately, absolutely nothing new today, apart the apparent issues with Belarus and Russia for Wargaming. How much impact will that have – well, that remains yet to be seen. But considering it’s the end of the year and it’s Christmas soon, I don’t think we’ll see any breaking news in the following days. Oh well, gonna keep checking anyway.
But the Maus armor is slightly fucked on the 9.5 test, so we got that going for us, which is nasty:
(green zones should be spaced armor)

Another Money Issue for Wargaming
Hello everyone,
after the issue with the falling ruble, Wargaming RU has another problem. Belarus (the “home” country of Wargaming) decided to impose a new 30 percent tax on purchases of foreign currency (which does concern the WoT prices, as they are in USD). This tax is tied to the situation of Russian ruble, which is closely tied to the currency of Belarus. In effect, everything could become 30 percent more expensive for Belarusian players (it’s possible that WG will pay this tax from its profits without making stuff more expensive, but… you know how it is).
As “added bonus”, there are issues in Belarus with internet banking and some payment methods were temporarily disabled for the users in Belarus.
I guess it’s time to start focusing on EU and US market without just milking it, Wargaming… so, about that EU tree in December 2015…
