Storm on Individual Missions

A couple of answers from Storm, regarding the IM’s from non-public Russian forum section, courtesy of LJ user mopckou_svin

Q: “Who came upon the 20k blocked damage”
A: “It’s 20k in total – blocked + dealt. Statistics show that it’s possible. When creating the missions, we considered how many tanks roughly do we want to give away and based upon this number we made the statistical thresholds.”

Q (redacted): “If it’s not too complicated, please tell us how many battles with such statistics (20k blocked + dealt damage were there in 9.4?”
A: “It’s complicated. This is not exactly a matter I am dealing with, I simply made an inquiry what is planned and how. It’s about skill + luck, not just luck. Considering that we did not anticipate it to be accessible to the masses. To achieve the mission goal will be very difficult. But whether the requirements for the tank will be changed or not, I can’t say yet.”

Q: “We’ll be lucky if 10 people finish it.”
A: “We are planning for the top mission to be completed by several tens of thousands of players in 2015.”

Facebook: “Wargaming Most Profitable Gaming Company of All Time”

Source: http://world-of-ru.livejournal.com/3608027.html

Hello everyone,

according to a Business Insider article, Facebook chief of operations for Europe Julien Codorniou – connected to planned Facebook expansion to Russia – stated the following:

When I say Russia, I’m also including the Ukraine. Look at Wargaming, the most profitable gaming company of all time, it’s based in Minsk. You would not expect that. If you have one trip to make, go to Eastern Europe and Israel. This is where the next billion dollar companies will come from, I can tell you.

Although Wargaming stopped publishing its economical results, there are some estimates as to how much money Wargaming makes. According to the company SuperData’s information, these are the estimates of how much Wargaming made and will make in 2015.

On Individual Missions

Hello everyone,

so, I had these few thoughts about the individual mission system, leaked recently. No new information surfaced for now, but I can already see some pitfalls, that might hinder it a bit. Let’s talk about some of those. Contrary to popular opinion, I find the fact that unless you are insanely good, you have to play arty for Object 260 very entertaining :) I mean… why not? Other issues however…

Platoons

Please don’t include that requirement. Let me tell you why – it’s from my own experience in other games, here – specifically – World of Warcraft.

I think that by now we all realize, that the IM’s are essentially series of chain missions. WoW had chain quest too and it was always extremely difficult to get help with them, because other players were alwawys at different stage of the quest. Usually the way it was done was that a player joined a party for the entire chain quest, if the quest included a party-required part (for example some quest chains ended with a party having to defeat a very tough enemy, that required cooperation). If you lost that party somewhere in the process – good luck finding another one, that’s on the same stage as you. You managed to do that only if you were really lucky and it always took time.

Uniscum Fail

Hello everyone,

thank for exactly 47 mails about this very same issue, it seems this bothered a lot of people. Basically, unicum clan UNICA and their offshoot, UN1CA rigged a CW battle, got caught pants down, someone created a rage thread on forums (that got closed in the meanwhile) and the rigged battle will be investigated (it’s a bannable offense, especially in campaigns). In the aftermath, the second clan commander went mental and kicked everybody or something.

I mean… I am surprised so many people were even bothered with this. Or did you think that with high winrate comes positive attitude or – heaven forbid – moral integrity? Of course not, there is no corellation between the two. What surprised me the most is the ammount of attention this got, but hey, I guess people like a drama every now and then… :)

- Q: “Is arty balance okay? They seem to be crawling out of woodwork again.” A (SerB): “It’s fine. It’s good that there’s more of them.”
- Q: “What’s up with supertesters, I see them driving around in random battles with exclusive tanks and they suck!” A: (SerB) “If you have to envy, do it silently.”
- Q: “If we had Panzer IV and T-34 in historical configurations, what tiers would they fit?” A (SerB): “You see, that depends on the historical number of hitpoints.”
- Q: “It was said that the T110E4 has worse aimtime than E3 as a price for having a turret. How come German WT’s have the same stats as the non-turretted German TD’s?” A: “Just imagine that the Germans implemented it better.” (SS: as in, it’s just a balance decision)
- SerB states that the situation, where optics get destroyed by hitting driver’s periscopes is correct
- IS and IS-3 have the same D-25 (D-2-5) reload times as KV-3 and KV-4, despite IS series having one loader and KV series two historically, because the second loader “eliminates the design drawback”
- Individual Missions are time limited, but the limit is quite long. They will come in seasons, around half a year ones.
- Evilly states that when it comes to difficult missions, “cumulative effect is better than everyday grind” (admits that the previous very difficult grinding missions – specifically the KV-220 one on RU server – were a mistake)
- Evilly states that the Object 260 missions will be intentionally very difficult

Straight Outta Supertest: IM Update

Hello everyone,

just a quick update for the previous IM post (it was edited to reflect this one):

- currently, you need 20 tokens to recieve the IM reward tank
- each final battle in the chain (five chains) gives you 4 tokens for the primary requirement and 1 token for the secondary requirement

As a result, it means that you can complete only 4 out of 5 mission chains (avoiding for example playing artillery), but ONLY if you complete all primary AND secondary goals for those four.

Straight Outta Supertest: Maps

Well, this is the first time I actually split posts, but whatever. Since everyone got so excited about the female crews and missions, I am splitting the map topic from the original post. Here, the maps can be freely discussed.

New maps from supertest:

Lost City (this seems to be a symmetric, e-sports special map), it was developed for quite a while.

Mittengard aka “The Pit” is a lowtier map apparently, it’s quite small. It’s possible it will join the pool of tier 1,2,3 maps

Winter Ruinberg is here to replace Ruinberg on Fire. The basic complaint about RoF is that it was just too dark.
