Hello everyone,
Wargaming’s CEO, Viktor Kislyi, took recently a “trip” to EU server, using the new (still tested) roaming feature. Hey – his stats are not bad! Thanks to RoyM18 for sending in the screenie.
One more thing to be clear: the fact 0.9.0 patchnotes appeared today (partially) is due to the fact that today, patch 0.9.0 appeared on supertest. According to regular schedule, that means that common test should come next Thursday. HOWEVER, this patch is anything but common and delays are inevitable. Storm posted that the test will come in 2-3 weeks.
- optimization of World of Tanks is being conducted continuously
- there is no need to rebalance arty in general apparently
- choosing your team setup for maps in team battles will come after 9.0
- current amount of arties in battles is 1-3 per team
- it’s not yet sure, whether confrontation will be completely scrapped or just temporarily disabled – Storm states that in order to work, it needs its MM fixed and there are no resources to do that for now

I intend to make Tiger Tales a series of articles covering the more obscure and unknown tanks from the Tiger chassis. The articles will more then likely not be very lengthily and may not always have photos simply because photos or drawings do not or did not exist to illustrate the design in question. – NEMO
The VK.45.02 Henschel is one of those tanks that is not an exotic tank like the VK.45.02 Porsche. It is a much more tame design by comparison. Although “design” is really the not right word for it, as the VK.45.02(H) was always more of a production modification than anything of the “normal” VK.45.01(H) Tiger I tank.
There were three proposals and attempts to produce the VK.45.02(H) during the war and all three were shot down almost as quickly as they were proposed. Lastly, one should keep in mind that the first 250 VK.45.01(H) Tiger I tanks were equipped with HL 210 P45 motors and the first 250 Panthers with the HL210 P30 motors.
Hello everyone,
after two years and a billion dollars, Wargaming NA finally released an official list of banned modifications. This will hopefully help clean up some of the misunderstandings, that were plaguing the community recently.
Currently, banned mods on US server are:
- 3D-Skins with Display of Modules and Crew Positions
- Removal of trees, leaves and bushes or change transparency
- “Lens scope” modification that removes tree leaves and alters bush transparency around the aiming reticle.
- Script automated use of manually activated equipment. I.E. Automatic use of Manual Fire Extinguisher
- Modified Tracer Display (case-by-case basis)
- Free camera
- Laser Reticle (red line starting from the gun barrel)
- Modified Tracer Display (case-by-case basis)
- Mini Map modifications that passively provide information to the individual player without the use of active teamwork.
If you are interested in what is each mod and how does it look, click on the link above and check out the pictures in the thread. There are four things that however caught my eye.
- white corpses are not banned, which is odd, considering they actually are banned on EU server, according to support at least
- the minimap mode seems to be banned altogether, which is good, but I wonder if ALL the elements displayed on the example picture (such as your own turret aiming direction, enemy turret direction on minimap) are banned, or just some
- ultra zoom mods are not banned? I thought they were as well
- the “destroyed object detector” is specifically listed as banned on RU server. Here, it is probably included within the minimap mods, but it wouldn’t hurt to add it
I will just leave this here. It’s an advertisement, but Arnold with his M47 Patton tank simply rock :)
- Tiger P and Tiger H having different depression while using the same turret is a bug, it will be fixed
- there is a chance Sacred Valley will not return to random battles: Storm posted that it’s being reworked, but it’s a complicated case, so it’s not sure they will succeed
- Q: “Can we trust your answers in this thread?” A: “Of course not”
- the amount of maps available to new players on low tiers is limited in order for them to get used to the game better
- shader changes in 9.0 on HD tanks will be noticeable a lot
- currently, developers are focusing on releasing 9.0, but when it’s out, they will focus on reworking the vegetation (grass and trees) render
- the amount of HDtanks-per-patch will increase by every patch, the first batch in 9.0 consists of 12 tanks only, because the entire system of tank modelling was changed and it takes a while to get used to the new system
- Wargaming developed a “library” of common model parts, so it doesn’t happen that one tank has different-looking D-10T gun than another tank for example

Hello everyone,
as you probably well know, info on Chinese tanks is very rare and hard to come by. That doesn’t apply only for regular players, but also for Wargaming. With that being said, US server player lujunlin001 dug up some info on US server and presented it in a form of 2nd Chinese heavy branch proposal. He also contacted me and asked me to post it here and naturally, I accepted. Let’s have a look at what he found together (I will redact the post a bit to make more sense).
Now, one more technical thing. Those of you, who play World of Tanks for a longer time, might remember the time when Chinese branch was introduced. It was delayed in fact and the reason for the delay was the change of Chinese tier 10 heavy tank. Originally, Chinese tier 10 was supposed to be “WZ-111 5A”, but it was removed and replaced by the “113″ for various reasons – if I recall correctly, the main reason was the fact that it was basically a copy of tier 8 and 9 Chinese tanks with a bigger gun. Lujunlin001 proposes to bring this tank back and adds more historical info to its background. Here is what he wrote.
