Japanese flag revisited

Hello everyone,

so, I asked around a bit (or, rather, was reminded) how exactly it is with the Rising Sun Japanese flag (Kyokujitsu-Ki) and Japanese armor. The result was surprising:

Historically, the Japanese used this flag only for the Navy, it was never put on the Japanese tanks themselves. In fact, allegedly the only case of a Japanese flag painting on a tank is a real Japanese flag (white field, red circle) and it was on a Chi-Nu tank and it was one case. The Imperial Japanese Army never used that flag either in general. The Japanese “did use a small brass start near the nose of the front glacis plate, but that’s it”, according to Daigensui, who informed me of all this.

In other words, Wargaming was historically correct not to put this decal on tanks, but of course since there were no such pictures at all on Japanese vehicles, the question as to what decal will the Japanese tanks have in game is allegedly not yet decided and the Japanese flag on Chi-Nu Kai is temporary.

With this, I will be closing the discussion under the original flag article, you can continue here, but please, be civil.

Japanese flag will not be the Rising Sun

Hello everyone,

as you might have noticed from earlier posts/videos, the new Japanese Chi-Nu Kai will most likely (allegedly it’s not 100 percent) have a regular Japanese flag (instead of the Imperial Rising Sun) as you can see here:

jap1

The reason for this move is that while we Europeans and Americans have nothing against such symbol, for Korean and Chinese players it is offensive. Allegedly, it is not outright banned, but highly frowned upon.

Which one is better, Object 140 or T-62A?

Source: wot-news.com

Hello everyone,

as some of you know, I am not exactly fond of Soviet tanks (I levelled up the T-54, but that’s about it), so I can’t really evaluate the Object 140′s performance, compared to the T-62. That’s why I am taking Edrard’s assessment and translating it to English. Edrard is the owner of wot-news and generally a good player, so I think his opinion counts in this. First, let’s have a look at Object 140′s armor and size, compared to the T-62A:

Sniper Award bugged in 8.7

Source: world-of-ru.livejournal.com/2449936.html

The point of the article linked above is that a player was complaining that the Sniper award he should have recieved. He wrote a support ticket and here’s what he got for answer:

70669_original

“Currently there is a bug, in which ramming deprives the player of chance to recieve the award. The bug will be fixed in following patches.”

So, there you have it, confirmed. Allegedly, this bug only occurs when ramming damage is dealt to friendlies, but this is not confirmed.

27.8.2013 – Part 2

You’ll like this, SerB’s on the roll again.

- SerB on Gaijin War Thunder tanks, when asked what he thinks about them:

“We do watch them. Company Gaijin, by the way, puts a lot of effort into making its project NOT resembling WoT (true, not always – for example module unlocking they made basically the same as we have it in the end, only instead of normal stock modules they give out “worn out” modules). And so their experience is very valuable for us, mostly in the “how not to do it” part. But if they – let’s say – manage to make a playable tank game with better historicity (Tiger with heavier turret(c)), we will gladly learn from their experience”

- SU-152 Taran is not planned
- Q (on SerB): “How did the EU community react on the Stalin inscriptions returning?” A: “Majority doesn’t care, the only ones with butthurting are the Polish (it’s their national sport) and – oddly enough – Romanians”

World of Tanks in Romanian

Hello everyone!

This post concerns mostly Romanian players. As you all probably know, despite Romanians being one of the larger playerbases on EU server, there is no Romanian forum section on official EU forums. Furthermore, Wargaming – not having learned from the worldoftanks.cz domain issue (a random guy registered the domain before WG) – did not register the worldoftanks.ro either.

Treborn, a well-known personality on EU forums, managed to put together an unofficial World of Tanks Romanian webpage at worldoftanks.ro – its contents include FTR translations into Romanian and Romanian forums. Those, who want to discuss World of Tanks in Romanian are invited there.

I hope you guys find this useful.
