Hello,
thanks to AppleSauceBandit (US), we can have a look at the two supertester vehicles, at least statistically. Both are tier 2 premium light tanks.

Hello everyone,
if you read the FB feed of For the Record, you might remember that yesterday, I wrote that I am having issues with the Wot Viewer. After a while of searching, I discovered I am by far not the only one. This issue concerns the 32bit version of the Wot Viewer (WotTankViewer_x86.exe) – simply put: WV works normally with 8.8 client, but if you try to set the path to your 8.9CT folder, the VW crashes.
What did not help (so no need to try it):
- remove the reference to Japanese tanks from cfg files
- change the graphic settings of the VW client
- replacing 8.9CT camo files with 8.8 ones
Unfortunately, solution is not yet available. It seems there is a problem in camouflage loading, but that is just a guess. If you are interested, please follow this thread (RexTimmy is the maker of VW). Unfortunately I haven’t been able to register on those forums (automated mail not working), so let’s hope for a quick solution.
Of course, if you had this problem too and managed to overcome it somehow, do share with us in comments.
Unfortunately, it also means that until it’s fixed, I won’t be able to show you the supertest vehicles (nothing too interesting there tho) and the visual and armor model changes.
Looks like the new North-West map has some interesting features…
Hello everyone,
so, here are my subjective impressions from the new German TD line. Unlike the previous patch Soviet tanks, I think I am rather qualified to talk about German TD’s, as they are my favourite branch and I played it quite a lot. So, let’s have a look at it :) All tests took place with a 100 percent crew, camo net, binoculars and an optional third equipment piece. I used both silver and golden shells for comparison, standard silver consumables. I also used optical camo.
The server itself runs pretty smoothly (the bug with the packet loss was not fixed however). Noticed the nice quick server relog feature in upper left corner – handy!
Marder III (38T)
Okay, despite testing it only against “soft” targets (pretty much everyone in the battle had another 38T) I must say this vehicle is absolutely fantastic. It’s small, yet it packs quite a punch and boy it fires fast (18,75 ROF). Aim time is excellent, it’s reasonably accurate (0.35) and – what is most important – very hard to spot and fairly mobile (40km/h easily). As expected, the gun shield is thin, but it’s nothing that terrible. Its top gun is 110 pen 75mm – not the best penetration out there, but the golden shells can crack any hide. Carried ammo supply is sufficient (38 rounds). Gun traverse is fantastic, it’s very broad, but the vehicle doesn’t bleed accuracy when moving the gun too much and the depression is awesome. I love it. It’s much like Marder II on steroids (or if you will, Marder II before the major nerf).
Well, here’s what we’ve been waiting for. For now only the screenies with stats, I will post impressions later.
The new German tree
Tier 4 – Marder 38T
(modules/stock/elite)
Well, the test is here. I am not sure how soon will I “join the action” and bring you the screenies, because (I guess due to the enormous interest in German vehicles) the download goes much slower than it usually does. Standby.
- apparently, the variant where there would be a transfer from old German TD branch to the new one is not considered
- Storm states that the developers never said there would be no tier 10 mediums, it’s players who made this up
- KV-5 will not return to the ingame shop for now
- the aim of the midtier arty buff in 8.9 is not aimed at reducing the number of TD’s in game, but to buff certain specific underperforming vehicles
- it’s “completely possible” certain popular hightier TD’s will be nerfed, but there will not be a TD hardcap
Hello everyone,
as you probably know, the US-only event Airborne Challenge (350 battles gets you 10k gold) was cancelled:
So, is this the end?
Well…
Q: “Give us such bonus on RU server too!”
A: “For EU and RU servers (each separate) there will be ‘free stuff’ too, when the time is right”
Personally, I just think WG marketing fucked up and decided the event is too good, so they invented “issues” to put it down. Wargaming at its finest.
Hello everyone,
today, we are going to start new series of historical articles, this time about Polish armor. Let me tell you some of those designs are pretty interesting.
Just like the early Czechoslovak armor development, Polish armor was based mostly on foreign technology. Poland starts to diverge from Czechoslovakia in the early 30′s, when the Czechoslovaks started to produce various designs of their own, while Poland thought it would be better to actually license the designs (notably the ubiquitous Vickers 6-ton tank, which was modified and produced as the 7-TP). The two most known vehicles of the Polish army were the TK tankettes (and their variants) and the 7-TP tank (which was – as I mentioned above – a modified Vickers 6-ton). There were other designs too and we’ll talk about them chronologically, so you get the “feel” for the upcoming World of Tanks Polish branch.
Unfortunately, as you can imagine, Polish World of Tanks branch is problematic past tier 6. But we’ll talk about the hightier options and possibilities.
