No free 10k gold for you, European capitalists!

Hello everyone,

well, this is a bit fail. Not sure how much of a fail, as this might yet be rectified, but if it stays…

I usually don’t deal with World of Warplanes, mostly because I don’t like aircraft games, as some of you know. Then again, this concerns everyone. You know, how the account is now unified and gold from WoWp transfers to WoT and vice versa, right?

Well, the US server has this amazing event called Airborne Challenge: play 350 battles from October 11 till the release (November 12 I think) and get 10k free gold to your account!

Surely the EU server gets the same event, right? Nope. We ain’t getting squat.

No free 10k gold for you, European capitalists!

Edit: Confirmed, this event is NOT planned for EU.

Edit 2: The American event was cancelled too. Sorry, western capitalists, no gold for you, you haven’t embraced the teachings of comrade Stalin enough!

WG EU fail: gift shop false advertising

Hello everyone,

so, I guess everyone reading this blog knows about the giftshop. You can buy tanks there and give them to someone else – not for gold, but for real money. So, that means the advertising there should be extra careful, right? Like… Wargaming EU should tell the truth about its products?

Oh, wait… that’s right. Wargaming EU. We have here some “special offers” for mid-October. Let’s disregard the fact that these offers are rarely profitable for players – here’s something that caught my eye:

“The tank’s additional side-skirts make it more resistant to explosive rounds, including artillery fire”

- SerB states that he’d like to have more than two turrets per vehicle (SS: in some cases at least)
- accuracy rebalance is not planned
- SerB states that the reason for the drawing distance and spotting limit is that on one hand the typical engaging distance during WW2 was 300-500 meters, but on the other hand also the fact that it’s not interesting gameplay-wise to shoot “dots on the horizon”
- anti-aliasing TXAA? “when it’s done it’s done”, but apparently not anytime soon, it hasn’t been decided yet when it will come

Invite codes

Hello everyone,

another invite code, from rwc81 and Reszort (sorry mate, your mail ended in spam folder and I somehow missed it) and Jacek. Wojto94 donated too, but I gave that code away to a friend who wants to start WoT. Thanks to you all :)

The 90 mm and the M4

The M4 Shermans in WoT at the moment are only armed with the classic 75 mm, the fast firing 76 mm guns, and the 105 mm howitzer. In lieu of foreign weaponry such as the 17 pdr or the French 105 mm, WG has already likely modeled a 90 mm armed M4 as seen below.

This particular vehicle, called the M4 90V by WG, was built in 1944 in order to have 90 mm armed tanks in order to give American tankers a weapon that could more easily defeat German armor. I have not found an official designation of this vehicle in my resources so I can only assume that WG’s name is acceptable.

Ready for tomorrow? I know I am, took a day off, so the news from the test should be… quick :)

Also note that wotreplays.org site is back online, if you want, check it out.

- the development of WoWp clouds is tied to the smokescreens in WoT, when it is optimized, WG will develop smokescreens based on it
- apparently, smoke (SS: from burning wrecks mentioned) will work like the bushes in WoWp and it will work that way in WoT too
- 122mm D-83 gun (Object 167, Object 430U IIRC) won’t be implemented now, it’s too OP, but the developers keep it in mind
- regarding autoloading Soviet tanks, SerB states that in 1943, autoloaders for both the KV and T-34 were developed, but they won’t be implemented for now
