Inside the Tanks: Sturmtiger

As usual, there are small things that are not historically totally correct (like the conversion of StuG III into AT role meaning the infantry was left without infantry support SPG, it was not), but compared to the last G-13 video, it’s better. The “three M4 Shermans killed by Sturmtiger” is – as far as I know – a hoax, either started by some unreliable books or the internet.

Individual Missions – T-55A (Stage 3)

In brackets, optional (secondary) objective, rewards vary.

Light Tanks

- win while being in top 3 in XP (survive)
- be first to spot 6 enemy tanks, survive (win)
- deal damage to 5 enemy vehicles while moving, spot 5 enemy tanks (destroy 3 enemy vehicles while moving)
- detrack at least 3 enemy tanks (2 enemies detracked have to be killed)
- get 3 enemies spotted by you killed by your team (get at least 6 enemy tanks damaged by your team while you spot, survive)
- spot 6 enemy tanks before they spot you (survive, win)
- spot 3 enemy arties and help destroy them (survive, win)
- help cap enemy base while getting at least 40 percent cap points, battle is won by capping (do not get hit while capping)
- spot or detrack 6 enemy vehicles (2 enemy vehicles get killed as a result)
- cause 3000 spotting damage (survive)
- while platooning with an arty (or two arties or another LT and an arty), deal 2000 spotting damage while your teammate deals 1500 damage, you have to kill 2 enemy vehicles as well (win, survive)
- while platooning with another LT, deal summary 5000 spotting damage (two of the platoon have to survive)
- destroy 3 enemy vehicles of your tier or higher (deal at least 2000 damage)
- be first in XP of both teams while surviving (win)
- deal at least 6000 spotting or assistant damage (spot or detrack 2 vehicles that get destroyed as a result of that action)

Light Tanks

- be first to spot 4 enemy tanks (win,survive)
- deal damage to 2 enemy vehicles while moving (destroy 2 enemy vehicles while moving)
- detrack an enemy while dealing at least 250 spotting damage (enemy detracked has to be killed)
- get 2 enemies spotted by you killed by your team (get at least 4 enemy tanks damaged by your team while you spot)
- spot 4 enemy tanks before they spot you (survive)
- spot 2 enemy arties and help destroy them (survive)
- help cap enemy base while getting at least 20 percent cap points, battle is won by capping (do not get hit while capping)
- spot or detrack 4 enemy vehicles (an enemy vehicle gets killed as a result)
- cause 2000 spotting damage (survive)
- while platooning with an arty (or two arties or another LT and an arty), deal 1500 spotting damage while your teammate deals 1000 damage, you have to kille enemy vehicle as well (win, survive)
- while platooning with another LT, deal summary 3000 spotting damage (one of the platoon has to survive)
- destroy 2 enemy vehicles of your tier or higher (deal at least 1500 damage)
- be first in XP while surviving (win)
- deal at least 5000 spotting or assistant damage (spot or detrack 2 vehicles that get destroyed as a result of that action)

Light Tanks

- win while being in top 10 in XP (survive)
- be first to spot two enemy tanks (survive)
- deal damage to 3 enemy vehicles while moving (destroy an enemy vehicle while moving)
- detrack an enemy (enemy detracked has to take damage)
- get the enemy spotted by you killed by your team (get at least two enemy tanks damaged by your team while you spot)
- spot two enemy tanks before they spot you (survive)
- spot enemy artillery and help destroy it (survive)
- help cap enemy base, battle is won by capping (do not get decapped)
- spot or detrack two enemy vehicles (do that using coated optics or binoculars)
- cause 1000 spotting damage (use camo net and have visual camo on your tank)
- while platooning with an arty (or two arties or another LT and an arty), deal 1500 spotting damage while your teammate deals 1000 damage (win, survive)
- while platooning with another LT, deal summary 2000 spotting damage (one of the platoon has to survive)
- destroy enemy vehicle of your tier or higher (deal at least 1000 damage)
- be first in XP (win)
- deal at least 4000 spotting or assistant damage (spot or detrack a vehicle that gets destroyed as a result of that action)

Paul-Werner Krapke proposed this vehicle in or around 1983. Krapke was connected to the design of the Leopard tank series, as he was Chief of the Leopard II design team, so expect this vehicle to be heavily based on the Leopard II tank underneath. The task of the vehicles was primarily to fight enemy MBT’s and armoured vehicles and to improve the anti-tank capabilities in the range of up to 2000m while being capable of defeating current and next generation tanks.

Individual Missions Video

here’s the (Russian for now) video for Individual missions. English subtitles are available.

 

 

Notice how Wargaming plays the “this tank is a reward only for skilled players” angle. Well, it might certainly be true to some extent, but the first set of missions for StuG IV doesn’t seem that difficult. The important part is that if you don’t manage to fulfill both primary and secondary objectives, it’s possible to re-select the mission and try it again.

Oh yea and the special girl crew perk activates only in girl-only crew, it does NOT mix with BIA.

14.1.2015

- it’s possible to fulfill ALL the individual missions in a platoon
- there’s a third party site that has the individual mission conditions already available. They are obsolete however, the new ones will come in tomorrow’s minipatch
- various prototype and paper tank models in the game will get more accessories on their hulls (shovels and stuff)
- the leaked armor schematics of AMX-50B and some others are incorrect, for example AMX-50B has no “holes” in mantlet and frontal armor
- it’s possible to get the IM tank without playing arty
- it will not be possible to train the girl crews with both the special BIA perk they have and regular BIA
- some IM’s will be possible to complete only in platoons

AMX-40′s Second Turret

Hello everyone,

not so long ago, Storm stated that the AMX-40 would get a second turret of some sort, with an upgraded gun but with less armor. Well… if you were wondering what kind of turret will it be, it’s this as far as I know:

As far as I could find out, this was never a real project (for the AMX-40 anyway), more like an idea of what the turret might have looked like, were it developed into the early 40′s (if the occupation did not happen of course). As you can see, the FCM turret is larger, providing more space for crew (it’s a three man turret), but also for additional armament. According to AMX designer Joseph Molinié, upgrades were considered – for example a 75mm gun, but that’s about as far as it went. It’s possible another (more powerful) 75mm gun will appear on AMX-40 in the future, as well as somewhat more powerful engine.

Straight Outta Supertest: Artillery Consumables in Numbers

Hello everyone,

a couple of guys got their hands on the 9.6 supertest client and mined it for content. One of the interesting things they found were the pieces of information about the new artillery and air strike consumables for Stronghold mode. Some of it is already known (see earlier post today), but there are also the artillery parameters. Pretty interesting. Of course, those numbers are just temporary.
