Not much today. I guess everyone is getting ready for Gamescom. Or was it patch 9.3? Hmm…

- developers are tracking how effective each gun is with various types of shells
- Sheridan won’t be implemented (SS: beyond the T49 turret that is – the reason is a) it’s amphibious b) Shillelagh missile)
- the shell spread after shot is different for each gun and vehicle (they don’t have a common coefficient)

WoT Blitz for Android Q&A Stream

Source: http://world-of-ru.livejournal.com/3416193.html

Hello everyone,

yesterday, there was yet another WoT Blitz dedicated stream, this time with Viktor Kleschenko (lead WG mobile programmer), Pavel Kozlov (community manager), Aleksandra Martynovich (community manager) and Ilya Botyanovsky (game master). Maiorboltach from the LJ community provided transcription as usual. Here it is!

Keep in mind all the answers are related to WoT Blitz, not WoT.

- currently, all the effort of the developers is being directed into creating an Android version
- Android version will first come either for RU region only, or worldwide straight away
- Android version will have the settings split into pre-sets (low, medium, high), or every setting (details etc.) will be set separately, it’s not yet decided
- developers are aware of the issue that mobile devices overheat when playing Blitz, there will be a fix – it is dependent heavily on optimization (more optimization, less heat)
- there will be a voicechat in the game the way WoT Xbox has it, when it’s done it’s done
- there is no exact beta test date yet, game is still being developed
- colorblind mode will not come anytime soon, it should appear within half a year tho along with other features, improving the game comfort
- range to target indicator will likely be implemented, but only as an option. It was not implemented from the start because it made the screen look messy.
- there will be no user statistics showing how much gold shells he fired
- there will be an indicator in the game, showing whether the enemy is using gold or silver shells

Hello everyone,

as you probably know, one of the largest game expo’s, Gamescom, is starting soon. One of our readers was invited to the WG party afterwards, where he will have the option of asking developer(s) some questions. He asked me to publish that you can send him the questions at his e-mail and he will try to have them answered. The e-mail is nomo2010@hotmail.de

- Storm states that it’s pointless to look closely the T-34-85M (leaked tier 6) characteristics, it’s from first round of supertesting, there will be two or three more rounds when the characteristics change and the parameters change even after tests
- it’s possible that the T-34-85M armor is more or less final according to Storm, there could still be some bugs in it though
- Evilly admits that they fucked up the anniversary hangar, it should be fixed and returned soon (SS: haven’t checked, is it back yet?)
- regarding the earlier tier 5 KV-1S leak – the HD model for KV-1S is not ready and so the model that was leaked was the old one, modified to carry only the historical guns.
- new fun-mode (like the soccer was) will come this year
- in the current version of observer mode, it’s pointless to follow artillery, since you won’t see where it is aiming

- Q: “Why did the developers stop making teaser videos to come out before patches?” A (SerB): “How terrible”
- T32 will not be buffed (“it’s a nice heavy”)
- players are reporting all sorts of UI issues with 9.2 – the answer is the same: “delete old mods” (SS: and the answer on RU forums proves time and time again to be correct, judging from the reactions)
- tank profitability (credit making ability) was not nerfed in 9.2
- nerfed gold shells for FV215b (183) were sold for their purchase price for credits in 9.2
- T71 wasn’t “stealth nerfed” in 0.9.2
- developers are aware that patch 0.9.2 caused lags, they are working on their fix (SS: it is unclear whether this is related to the issue the 9.2 caused on RU server and that did not appear on EU or US servers, but looking at timestamps, it should be related to ongoing issues)

- during the 9.2 test, there was a limit on creating the Strongholds: your clan had to have at least 20 people. This limit was removed in the live version
- it’s possible that HESH mechanics will be changed along with the FV4202 switch according to Storm (SS: there was an idea to simulate the HESH effectivity against sloped surfaces by massively increasing HESH round normalization)
- apparently according to Storm, the FV4202 switch is planned after New Year
- there is not enough material for a second full British medium Vickers branch
- it’s possible that Chieftain prototypes will have a place in the game as well
- Evilly confirms that the “free FV4202 for those who have the tier 10″ is the version the developers are working with
- according to Evilly, some individual premium tanks are so bad that they will either be buffed, or removed from the shops completely

Interview with Evilly Q&A

Hello everyone,

recently (27.7.2014), there has been an interview with Anton “Evilly” Pankov, “main operative producer of Wargaming”. Here’s what he said (keep in mind that on one hand, this guy was wrong before, on the other hand, he got promoted from the community department, so his info should be solid)

- Wargaming is working on yet unannounced projects, Evilly can’t talk about that
- Firefly branch will come this year

- FV4202 will be replaced along with the Firefly branch, close to the end of the year, either with Vickers MBT or Chieftain prototype, FV4202 will be changed because it’s the worst tank of its tier
- the Firefly branch will with high probability include TD’s
- it’s not decided yet whether the FV215b will be replaced by something else
- FV4202 will be turned into tier 8 premium tank, owners of the tier 10 FV4202 will most likely get the premium tank for free (!!!) the way it happened before with the T34

Crossed info is obsolete, see newer post.

- there are no plans to buff the VK4202P Ausf.B further
- KV-1S will be split as announced earlier in 9.3

- there will be a “moderate amount” of rebalances (buffs and nerfs) in 9.3
- tier 10 Stronkholds will come in 9.3
- T18 will be nerfed
- 9.3 will bring a new map, “if we manage to finish it”
- Prokhorovka and Salient on Fire (new Prokhorovka) will both be in the map pool in 9.2, just like it is with Winter Himmelsdorf and Himmelsdorf
- apparently, developers are considering cooperation mode, several players versus PvE opponents (bots)
- there will be special maps for historical battles in the future
- historical battle rewards (medals) will also be reworked
- it is allegedly not true that RU sever is serving as a test lab for various game changes
- PvE element is considered for historical battles
- the new 9.2 feature “transparent leaves” (SS: not sure how it is officially in English) will definitely bring some sort of FPS increase (performance increase), the amount of increase is “individual for each computer”

The Russians have patch 9.2 tomorrow, as announced earlier. EU should follow on Wednesday, but I haven’t got that confirmed.

Patch 9.2 release notes – I don’t see anything too new there, the FV215b 183mm HESH pen nerf to 230 is there. WT E-100 got an accuracy on the move nerf (25 percent), one 128mm shell removed, reload for 128mm changed from 60 seconds to 58 seconds.

Developers write about the WT E-100 nerf:

“This vehicle is one of the most dangerous opponents in the game. The firepower of WT E-100 allows you to destroy head on any enemy tank. But at the same time, the vehicle is quite vulnerable: it is large and it has thin armor. The developer team focused specifically on the firepower: we decided to remove one of the six shells in the 128mm clip.”

and (regarding generally the Waffentrager line):

“…generally weak armor of these vehicles is fully compensated by their massive firepower. As the praxis and statistics showed, the firepower of these TD’s, the firepower of these tanks turned out to be significantly higher than others of the same class.”

- Chinese “Great Wall” map will not be introduced to EU/US/RU/ASIA servers, as it is not popular even on Chinese server
- VK4502 Ausf.B roof did get buffed in 9.2
- regarding the Stronkhold in 9.2: “We had very good results from the common test. Well, and the mode should always be fixed and improved, otherwise there is no point in implementing it without plans for future development.”
- Wargaming buying Crytek? “There are great many rumors on the internet. Listening to and discussing all of them might make you go crazy. I recommend discussing only official Wargaming info.”
- KV-1S split confirmed for 9.3
- the “Observer” mode will not be implemented into random battles (for the reason of abuse)
- “Observer” player can write in both the team and general battle chat
- “Observer” tanks do take slots in teams (as any other tank does), it’s possible this will change in the future
- if one team consists entirely of “Observers” in training battle, that team will automatically lose the battle as soon as the countdown ends
- it’s possible that in the future, the creator of the training room will have the power to disable Observers completely

- Storm on gold shells for credits: “We collected statistics, thought about it and decided not to do anything for now.”
- a player suggests making T-62A turret armor similiar to the T-62 one. Storm: “And can you find data for T-62A?” (SS: as in, they are apparently not identical)
- game has FPS drops on high-end computers? Veider: “What do you mean by high end? I have I5 4430 + GTX 770 and no drops”
- game freezes during battle loading are caused by faulty/obsolete mods
- Object 277 and 770 will not be implemented (too strong)
