- there is no abnormal amount on draws in team battles, apparently the tournament rule of “whoever gets more points, wins” will not be implemented
- HE shell damage on modules suffers from the same penalties for non-penetrating hits like the regular tank damage
- the M103/T110E5 120mm gun grind is just fine

…..and that’s all I am afraid, for now anyway :)

Sorry, again, practically nothing going on

- SerB, when he saw this War Thunder picture: “So, the stock tank is rusty and you remove the rust by levelling it up? :)”
- SerB, when seeing the IS-3 War Thunder model: “Yea we’ve seen that already of course. For even such a condition of the machinegun, the tank commander would be imprisoned for like a year”

First, I’d like to thank you all, who kept me “supplied” by fresh WG fails – there were plenty today. The 3-day premium on EU server, the crap with 1 percent discounts (yes, I know it’s because of the slots, still looked pretty silly) and US server didn’t have working ingame discounts altogether (did they fix that already?). Unfortunately, I simply can’t post everything – I wouldn’t be doing anything else.

Merry Failmas!

- according to Storm, the statement that World of Tanks (on any settings) performs (FPS) worse than any other MMO game is false
- the IS-6 event is enormously popular on Russian server, Storm states he is proud for the WG folks who invented it, because there hasn’t been such an activity for a very long time (picture by LJ member pastor_rk_):

m2pZPr2oTVM

- Storm adds that with such numbers, tier 6 vehicles will sometimes have to wait in a queue
- Storm states it’s not possiblem to fix such huge tier 6 queues by creating tier 6 only battles, because that would break the even battletier spread rules (SS: as in, tanks have to drop to lower and higher battletier battles evenly), hence some tier 6′s will occasionally have to wait
- “World of Infantry will most likely not come, but WG is working on a new, yet unannounced project…”
- the “unannounced project” will definitely be an online game, according to WG developers, singleplayer games are slowly disappearing from the scene, MMO games are apparently considered to be the future (SS: wut?)
- the main playerbase for Xbox WoT are American players, that’s why the early version has no Soviet tree

Not much today, but with coming patch and holidays, developers will have less time to answer (like last year)

- apparently, Object 268 is not OP, it has worse winrate than Maus
- the way of balancing tanks by winrate is correct according to Storm
- according to Chieftain, the roaming feature is not yet ready, they are still working on fixing some bugs

Veider answers on stream

Source: http://world-of-ru.livejournal.com/2863712.html

Hello everyone,

Veider (one of the developers) was a stream guest yet again along with Kirill Oreshkin (the chief of WG movie department), here’s what they wrote on the forums (the summary was made by maiorboltach, LJ forums):

- while historical battles will be mostly 15vs15, it is possible that there will be some cases where it is impossible to balance it correctly historically that way, so there might for example be 15vs12 clashes as well
- currently, developers are working on historical battles balance
- the weight of ammo carried will not be taken into account in the future, as compared to the weight of the tank it makes no difference
- KV-5 is doing fine both statistically and farm-wise
- apparently the “free IS-6″ event is confirmed, there will be a video on that in a few days
- there will be changes in FV4202, but not anytime soon – the changes will be “cool” though
- T57 nerf is not planned for now
- there will be LT changes in order to make LT’s more “action-oriented”, but not very soon. Developers do have a lot of plans in mind though. Developers want to make the LT class “self-sufficient”. They identify the LT problems as low vitality (survivability) and slow moving across the map because of the physics
- T-50-2 will definitely not return

- HESH changes? “If there are any changes planned, we will tell”
- the size of Object 140 and 430 is correct according to Storm
- when asked, whether the visibility (spotting, render) distance will increase, Storm answers: “The real question is – do we need to see on 1000m and more? That’s a already a completely different game with shooting at pixels.”
- currently, the render distance (what you see when someone else spots for you) is a square, WG is however already developing turning it into a 700m radius circle.
- it’s possible the 112 frontal armor has some sort of graphic bug, it will be apparently corrected

That’s from the regular sources, but there’s more coming…

- during bonus XP events, the increased XP does not count towards the mastery badge requirements
- it’s possible that at some point, STB-1 will recieve its hydraulic suspension
- Q: “Did you consider making a bridge between the new medium Soviet line and the second Soviet (Obj263) TD line?” A (SerB): “No, we don’t consider all sorts of garbage, we don’t have as much time on our hands as you do”
- apparently, in 8.10 the bug where the ammo reload screen (when you reload gold ammo for credit) switches to gold ammo for gold is back, Storm knows about it
- Storm, when asked about the pictures at the end of the WoT Graphics video, such as this one (and about their appearance in game):

whoa

“This is what we will strive for in 2014″

Storm also adds that for high graphics settings, the required hardware will be “contemporary”, but can’t tell what configuration exactly will you need (he states he’s no expert in that). He however adds that i5+660Ti is a good system and that it shouldn’t exceed that by much. He also adds that multicore support will have little influence on that, as currently the performance depends mostly on the graphic card.

- Storm, when asked why the earlier pictures of the green STB-1 were much brighter, states that in their developer viewer, the lighting is very bright. This is how the camouflage on Japanese tanks was before (brown basic color)

and this is how it looks now (both pictures by Russian LJ user take_my_head)

Storm on 0.8.10 Test 2

Source: http://world-of-kwg.livejournal.com/263590.html

Hello everyone,

Storm posts a lot these days, luckily for us. Now, he is asking for your feedback on test round 2 of patch 0.8.10. Specifically, if you have some FPS problems, you are to upload dxdiag log, python.log from game files and a screenshot of your graphic settings. Please note there is no point in uploading them here and posting them in comments, Russians have enough feedback on their own (for once, the fact they have weaker computers on average is a benefit to us).

If you REALLY feel like giving your feedback, go to the source linked above and post it in comments. However, what I think is more interesting is the discussion:

- 0.9.0 will bring HD graphic models, these HD models will be on standard graphic render too
- the levels of detail for HD client will be “normal” too, eg. you won’t have to buy a new computer from 0.9.0 (SS: if I understand it correctly, it will be possible to switch the HD models off by reducing your texture quality)
- 0.9.0 will come in 2014
- in next patch (0.9.0) following maps will be fixed: Malinovka, Erlenberg, Redshire, Highway, Sacred Valley, Northwest (SS: noooo don’t touch Malinovka :( )
- apparently Malinovka has imbalanced base winrate
- in next patch there will be tier 10 TD fixes (nerfs), they are already being tested, Storm states he will not tell what changes “so the New Year is peaceful :)” But it’s not a camo nerf, Storm states that camouflage changes will come later, as they require a lot of testing
- T57 Heavy will not be nerfed at all – Storm states its winrate actually dropped, he’s now 3rd worst on its tier.
- the FPS drops in test 1 were apparently fixed, Storm states that they were caused by “improperly assembled shader package during the assembly of the patch client, this was the reason for not only the FPS drops, but also the graphic artefacts and weird trees, this is why the supertesters have not caught it – the supertester version was assembled normally”
- in 0.8.10, the garage sometimes shows different crew skills than those, that are on the pop-up skill window, this is because there is a bug in the number rounding
- Storm states that to implement both colours for the Japanese tanks would be “expensive” (SS: or it could be interpreted as “requiring”), because it would increase the client size by 10-20 percent
- according to Storm, the Ferdinand size difference is insignificant

Just a quick piece of info, the new developer Yurko2F answering the developer questions actively is apparently Zlobny’s replacement, not some random guy

- damage system will not be “completely reworked”
- branches will not be “completely reworked” (SS: some player is complaining about branches not being historical, just regular Russian whine)
- models, shell velocities and shooting and aiming mechanism are also fine the way they are (SS: “question” from the same whiner)
- camouflage looking “bland” in 8.10? “Version 8.10 is not yet out” (SS: as in, it will be fixed)
- Q: “If a replay is actually a saved set of commands from the server, why is it impossible to watch it from the POV of any player?” A: “Replay is a set of commands for one concrete player, not for the entire team. For what you mention, currently we are developing the serverside replay mechanism, where you will be able to witness the battle from the POV of any player from both teams”

Storm is asking about MM

Source: http://world-of-kwg.livejournal.com/262791.html

Hello everyone,

Storm is asking about MM on the developer blog:

“Hello everyone, you’ve all seen the MM video probably. What do you think – what is working well in current MM? What is not working well? How is it supposed to work according to your opinion?”

From the discussion:

- Storm states that “common opinion is that stock and elite vehicles should be considered differently”
- there will definitely not be 3-arty hardcap
- apparently there won’t be a rule that stock vehicles will overall end up more as top of the team, because that sucks for the team
- Storm states that current TD situation is 100 percent different from the previous arty (SS: as in – no hardcap is planned)
- Storm states that map-based MM (SS: MM rules different for each map) is unfortunately impossible, because it would lead to even more common map repetition for individual players
- mirror teams (SS: won’t be implemented), they’d kill battle variety
- Storm states that the idea to consider the tier of the gun during MM “is not meaningless”
- there is apparently a bug that when a Chaffee platoons with KV-1S (or other lower tier spread heavies), it will get their MM spread, Storm states he needs to check
- apparently, Storm thinks that the rule for stock vehicles having preferential MM for a while has been cancelled, but he will doublecheck

And what do YOU think of the matchmaker? Please, politely – I will forward your comments to WG RU, I doubt they’ll be interested in tons of “OMG WG U SUX”. Be constructive. Thank you.
