Hello everyone,
the internet offers all kinds of statistics on WoT. Some of them useful, some of them less so – and some of them totally useless, but interesting nonetheless. This is the third kind – which vehicles actually AFK the most?

Special thanks to Daigensui for posting this on US forums
From 5.9.2013, Japan will have its own World of Tanks server. Additionally, there will be some form of cooperation between Wargaming and the authors of the popular Girls und Panzer anime. The content of this collaboration is not yet clear however.
even though the 8.7 is already out on EU and RU servers, there have been apparently some issues with it (possibly linked to sharp FPS drops for some players). This is why the developers decided to open the third version of the 8.7 test, with following changes:
8.7 Test 3
- some special effects are reworked and optimized
- fixed some objects, that didn’t get destroyed properly in collisions
- some environment models have been fixed and finished
- the notification bug, when your own tank was detracked by a HE shell, has been fixed
- removed the possibility to retrain crews to the T-50-2 tank, that has been removed from the game
- finished the work on the voiceover
The update will be a sort of minipatch/hotfix (17Mb)
There will also be a test of the unified premium account.
- SerB states that “everything, that could be done to make the training room battles easier for the players without risks to the game was already done. Everything else is financially risky and won’t be implemented” (SS: in other words – no free/cheaper shells/repairs in training rooms or anything else, topic closed)
- SerB on Japanese tanks heavy branch (about where it will start from): “It’s a mess. Tier 3 heavy exists. Tier 6 and higher do exist also. But there’s a gaping hole on tier 4 and 5. So the heavy branch is not considered as done and won’t be released for now.”
- WG-made Master of Orion? (SS: WG recently bought the franchise from Atari) “No comment, but I don’t think we’d buy anything only to have it lying in the basement”
- no extraordinary measures to prevent teamkills of the reward tanks (M60 and others) will be taken
This Q&A is a bit unusual. As you probably know, SerB’s in Paris (hence the Hitler video) and Storm’s on vacation, so I’m going to translate some of the stuff, posted by a “developer” (in reality, a chief of community) Evilly in this thread – it’s about clanwars. I am not sure how much of it applies for EU/US servers, but I’ll try to translate to the best of my knowledge.
Please note that as I have never played clanwars and I have very little understanding of its mechanics, the translation might be of worse quality than usual. Feel free to correct me.
- new season starts in October
- apparently there are no plans to reward CW players with vehicles with crew that has perks/skills
- there will be other ways for clans to compete with each other apart from clanwars
- for second campaign, you will also need tier 1 + T2-T10 vehicles, so don’t sell them (“The same vehicles you currently need for various company tiers”)
- in campaign, if you get accidentally removed from a clan after playing some battles and then you are accepted back, when it comes to reward battle requirement, those battles (before you were kicked) do count, the countner doesn’t reset
- as the second campaign reward there will be a choice between either the M60, or the other reward tanks (Failowe, Object 907)
Update: yes, the players will be able to choose a reward
I asked several players (Soukoudragon, Daigensui) who know their stuff about the upcoming tier 5 Japanese (yes, it will be Japanese) premium medium tank: Chi-Nu Kai (improved). Here’s a bit of info about it:
Basically, it’s a Chi-Nu hull with a Chi-To turret and a better gun.
To quote Soukoudragon:
The gun is the Type 5 75mm model 2 cannon. No auto loader. It’s pen should be a little better than the US 76mm. Front hull armor is 50. The Turret is a Chi To turret with 75mm armor on the front. Engine is 240hp. I don’t think gun depression was good on this turret.
Also, some info about the gun from Daigensui:
Given the relatively large explosive filler of the AP shells, I’m thinking of it as a 85 mm ZiS S-53 with 75 mm Vickers HV level accuracy and slow aim time.
Proposed gun statistics:
Name: Name: 75 mm Gun Type 5
Ammo: 60
Damage: 160/160/280 HP
Penetration: 120/161/43 mm
Shell Price: 56 /7 /56
Rate of Fire: 15.38 r/m
Accuracy: 0.36 m
Aim Time: 2.9 s
Daigensui explains its history:
The Type 3 Kai is the post-war popular designation of the proposed upgrades to the Type 3 Chi-Nu. Given the late development of the Type 4 Chi-To and Type 5 Chi-Ri, the IJA needed a tank that could actually counter the M4 Sherman and other tanks of the Allies. To this end it was decided to put the Type 5 75 mm Tank Gun one way or another on the Type 3 Chi-Nu, with expanded use of welding to strengthen the hull and adding some armor.
There were two proposals for installing the Type 5 75 mm Tank Gun on the Chi-Nu: Using the turret of the Type 4 Chi-To, or adapting the Tank Gun for the turret of the Chi-Nu. On March 19, 1945, tests using the Chi-To turret were conducted at the Irago Firing Ground, and it was deemed that the handling of the tank was unaffected, and the results were satisfactory.
Based on the above historical facts, I believe that having the Type 3 Kai as a premium tank would be good for fans of Japanese tanks. The Type 3 Kai is somewhat of a mixture of the Matilda Black Prince and the PzKpfw IV Schmalturm, given that we’re putting a big turret with a gun similar to the 75 mm Vickers HV on top of a weaker hull. It’s also similar to the PzKpfw 38 nA in that it’s an improvement over the original form by incorporating more welding to make a stronger vehicle.
The Type 3 Kai should be a great long and medium range fire support, based on its Type 5 75 mm Tank Gun and relatively armored turret. In addition, the top speed of 39 km/h based on a 240 hp engine would make it more nimble than the PzKpfw IV Schmalturm, thus allowing it to be a fairly good mobile sniper.
looks like the 8.9 (edit: it has been confirmed it will most likely appear in the 8.8 patch for supertesters and in 8.9 for public) patch will bring a new tier 5 (confirmed) premium tank, the Japanese Chi-Nu Kai (improved)! For now – no textures.
