Czechoslovak Branch 2.0

Hello everyone,

I modified the Czechoslovak branch proposal I made to reflect the findings and discussions with V.Francev and J.Tintera (Czech historians). I also threw out all the premium candidates save for the most likely one to make it into the game. Oh yes, and it’s horizontal now, I know – how many of you guys still actually remember vertical trees? I miss those.

The changes include:

- threw out Tiger II with 76mm completely, that was a fake
- added Tiger P with Škoda turret and 105mm L/40 to the list of possible premiums (more about that project here)
- premium TVP candidate redesignated from TVP Model 1946 to TVP Concept to properly reflect its nature
- T-50 (previous tier 8) redesignated to TVP Model 1946, as both the concept and the Škoda proposal were introduced in 1946
- T-51 (previous tier 9) changed to T 50, as sufficient info was recovered to reconstruct the T 50 before the merge with T 51
- T-50/51 renamed to T 50/51 (the dash was deleted as it is more historically correct that way, same goes for T 50)

So yes, this is how it might look in the game.

An alternative failsafe option (in case there are issues tier 9 T 50 tank – at this point however, those would be purely arbitrary, as in “we don’t like how it looks” and such stuff) is the following solution:

- removing the T 50
- replace tier 8 TVP Model 1946 with TVP Concept (removing its premium status)
- replace tier 9 TVP T 50 with Model 1946 (+ some T 50 elements)
- add something else as a premium (a lowtier or a clone most likely)

The original proposal is far better though. But yea, I think the line is pretty solid.

Grabin’s SU-76 Proposal

Source: http://yuripasholok.livejournal.com/4089266.html

Hello everyone,

once again, Yuri Pasholok dug something interesting out of the depths of Russian MoD archives. In the autumn of 1942, a bunch of Soviet design bureaus were busy with creating a light self-propelled gun. Various designs were submitted and amongst them was this one, made by Factory No.92 under the leadership of V.G.Grabin. Grabin was a famous Soviet gun designer – his team developed for example the 76,2mm guns F-22, ZIS-3 or the 57mm ZIS-2. His “SU-76″ class project recieved the designation of IS-10 (not sure why) and the design embodied the principle he liked to use very much: re-using existing components as much as possible (in this case it’s a T-70 light tank hull and ZIS-3 gun) while keeping maximum firepower confined to the smallest chassis possible.

This project was not given the green light and was scrapped. Half a year later, it sort of was revived in the Plant No.38 as SU-38, but that didn’t go anywhere either.

Type 59 History and Variants – Part 2

It may not look like the Type 59, (I know you are like WTF, I found this variant very interesting). It is called the Jaguar (literal Chinese translation). This variant was developed on the chassis of the Type 59 with a slight extension in length done with American cooperation, featuring a Detroit 8V-92TA engine (8 cylinders) making it 14 hp/ton better road performance better than Type 59 but further upgrades were made. Since it was still not much better than they had hoped, it was fitted with the British Royal Ordinance L7 series or the gun on the M68 or the Chinese 105mm gun, depending on the buyers. However, it was never exported due to the poor price compared to the M60s and only just better than the Type 59 so no one would buy something that didn’t have the best performance nor had the cheap price.

Again, not much today. Storm has finished reading the feedback under his post about how much “action” there is in World of Tanks. The feedback was very diverse and generally inconclusive.

- if a developer shoots his own team, he will be punished the same way a regular player would be (SS: this is connected to two replays that came up recently – in one, Evilly (WG producer) in platoon gets teamkilled and his platoon mates go on a rampage against their own team and both get banned. Second was a some WG employee StoneMind shooting his own team)
- the same goes for press accounts, those too can be banned normally
- botting was always a bannable offense and always will be
- it is not true that developers only ban botters that do not spend money on the game
- according to the developers, “one of the several popular bots was discontinued due to our efforts”, other bots work “improperly and are unstable”, which helps WG to detect them
- there are no plans to disable teamdamage in WoT
- it’s completely possible for botters to have good stats, as they can use bots only sometimes between the regular battles
- there will be info about Tiger I L/56 in the future: “watch the portal news”
- one serious weakness of the M41 Walker Bulldog is its ammorack, according to a developer it blows up a LOT
- more info on individual missions will come quite soon

Hello everyone,

Wargaming RU released some interesting numbers on their RU server. It’s up to you to decide whether it’s reality or propaganda. To me, it sure as hell looks like the latter. Check this out:

134341 players were punished as a result of the use of the “complain” function in the game

Type 59 History and Variants – Part 1

Author: Chickentikka

Hello everyone. Type 59 is a legendary tank in WoT, but what do you know of its real life variants? Let’s have a look at a few of those in an article by Chickentikka – right from the “source” so to say, as he is a Chinese player. Enjoy!

The Type-59 is basically the clone of the T-54. But we have to get one thing straight here; the Type-59 is a licensed Soviet tank built for the People’s Liberation Army during the 1950’s, when Sino-Soviet relationships were very good. So the Soviet Union, as China’s big brother, brought engineers and equipment to build the first tank factory in China in Baotou (where they still produce tanks to this day). Amazingly, it is still in service but with enhancements, this is what I am going to show you.

This is a modernised type 59 sold to the Tanzanian Army. Look at how modern it looks!

At first, T-54 was virtually identical in every way to the Type 59, but gradually overtime, Sino-Soviet relationships took a turn for the worse, so China was left alone without foreign assistance to develop future tanks. This was of course a major problem since a country that had fought over 100 years of wars couldn’t keep up with the new advancing technology and without a good industrial infrastructure, it forced the Chinese designers to replicate existing tanks. During the late 1950’s and years after, China had to design a new tank or perhaps give the Type 59 better upgrades.

Invite Code for EU

Hello everyone,

need an invite code for EU? Try this one: DFE7KGDE – should contain 7 days of prem, 1000 gold and T2 LT (it can apparently be put in by multiple people, so no worries. Many thanks to Clearevil and Sczuka for sending me this.

9.1.2015

Apparently, the two reworked maps (Karelia, Sand River) are planned for 9.7, not 9.6.

Otherwise, nothing really new today. Oh, yes – one more thing. Several people complained that some payment methods in the premium shop are missing. Well, that’s because WG disabled them. The list of payment services disabled in premium shop is:

- Skrill
- Nordea
- Bank Transfer
- Yandex Wallet
- Ukash
- cashU
- Western Union
