US server: Dickermax + SU-100Y at 50 percent discount

Hello everyone,

what would be a weekend event without at least some WG fails? Just a quick update: while both the US and EU servers are supposed to have the same event (the “Alpha Force” (US, EU) – with 30 percent discount on Dicker Max and SU-100Y amongst other things), the US server has not 30 percent discount on both, but 50 percent:

No 50 percent discount for you, European capitalists! And as for the American players, get them while they’re hot :)

People are strange (15 years of PA gone)

Source: http://forum.worldoftanks.com/index.php?/topic/293068-what-does-a-guy-with-15-years-of-premium-do/

Hello everyone,

well, it looks like some people just aren’t happy with what they got. American player Kuroialty recently had a pretty strange request on the support service. He won 15 years of premium account in a competition, but he requested the premium account to be removed for following reason:

“I do not want the premium time on my account. I view its impact on my account as negative, artificially inflating my numbers for experience earned, thereby blurring my performance”

8.9 test 2 changes

The detailed list will be available when the XML files are datamined, but for now:

- WT E-100 was not touched
- tier 8 and 9 tank destroyers recieved some nerfs, specifically the gun traverse (turret rotation) from 24 to 18, tier 8 recieved a nerf on hull turnrate (42 to 38), same goes to tier 9 (40 to 36)
- the “visual model changes” are actually just some shadows on the hull, absolutely nothing visible at first glance

From Storm’s answers regarding this topic:

- there will be no separate rework specifically for BIA, it will only happen if the perks are globally reworked
- Storm states the global rework of perks and skills might happen: he’ll revise the old ones, think of new ones, but this will not happen anytime soon, there are other more important issues in game
- Storm states that the current WT E-100 will be the same case as the FV215 183, where everyone whined that it’s overpowered and in the end it turned out not to be the case
- T-44-85 will not be released in 8.9 apparently, devs decided to rebalance it (buff it) so it’s playable, they are discussing what to buff, but of course it’s about the penetration
- Storm confirms the encounter on Mountain Pass will be disabled
- some buildings on the new map are not destructible while they should be, it’ll be fixed

- Storm confirms that the engine has a chance of lighting up from ANY damage done (above certain threashold, that is there to prevent lowtier autocannons from causing too many engine fires), but not every damage done makes the engine yellow or red, so it is possible for a “normal” (undamaged) engine to catch fire
- frames per second limit won’t be implemented
- fullscreen mode without a frame won’t apparently be impemented (SS: not sure what this refers to, a fully opened window?)
- 1,2×1,2km maps are being experimented with

Q&A for EU/US

Update: A lot of you haven’t even bothered to read the post and I don’t have time to sift thru garbage. Closed the comments, will think on what to do with it further.

Hello everyone,

okay, I must admit I’ve been thinking about this for a very, very long time. Why isn’t there a real Q&A thread for EU/US people, apart from that thing Quasar posts, which is slow, clumsy and has wrong answers on occasion.

Well, long story short, what we can try (for now, as an experiment):

You will be able to ask your questions for developers under this post. I will pick SEVEN (I will let you know which), will translate it to Russian and then, Edrard (who has enough battles on RU server) will post what I write in SerB’s thread. And you’ll get your answers from SerB and Storm directly.

WG seeks WoWs alpha-testers

Source: http://world-of-ru.livejournal.com/2728397.html

A post on Russian forums announces that Wargaming is looking for alpha testers for World of Warships.

Apparently, only Russian forum members (or rather, Russians – or at least people who speak Russian) are to post their application in any form into the abovelinked thread. What criteria are considered for an alpha-tester, in order of importance:

- World of Warships forum activity (at least 250 good posts, no spamming)
- WoT and WoWp alpha test veterans do get a priority
- experience in alphatesting other games
- being a professional tester, or an IT specialist
- proactivity and decency

What has NO effect on the application:

- amount of battles in WoT and WoWp
- winrate
- age
- country
- city

So I guess even the foreigners can apply, as long as they speak Russian? The demand of speaking Russian is not mentioned anywhere, I concluded it since this appeared on RU forums, might be wrong.

FredTMK’s 8.9 review

Hello everyone,

okay, here’s the thing. Remember that T-34-3 video I posted by FredTMK? Well, it didn’t gather too good feedback (in fact, quite the opposit) and I took it down as a result. But, since I do believe Fred has some potential, I decided to cooperate with him on the 8.9 patch review, mostly by checking his scenario and the video content.

Wargaming going all-out in Asia

Hello everyone,

it seems that Wargaming is going all-out in Asia. After all, it’s a big market. On Korean portal (translation courtesy of Daigensui), we can read that WoWP is one of the games to be played for the “ROKFA Chief of Staff Air Warfare Simulation Contest”. Strangely enough, they translate this via World of Tanks Korean portal, but I suppose it’s a huge success.
